Once Lovren has been sold to Liverhampton which is pretty much a forgone conclusion We only have three recognised center backs in Fonte, Yoshi and Hooiveld! The last two are completely inadeqate at this level so even if we were to buy two more center backs (which is a big if) we would still need Fonte as cover! To suggest we should sell him is absolute madness!!!!!!

Think it is a bit harsh calling Blackstock a "nobody". Anyone who scores the winner against the skates is far from a nobody in my book.

Agree with this one. Although I cant remember if Kanchelskis actually played for us. If he did then i would swap him with Svenson, Berkovic or Oakley.

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
Noggin replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
I have always felt that Huddlestone has been one of the most over-rated players in the prem in recent years. The odd "Hollywood" pass and long range shot may catch the eye, but from what i have seen the game often just passes him by. For the wages that Huddlestone would demand, I feel we could bring in a player of better ability who is less injury prone. -
Why are you only talking about in the premier league? You do realise that football existed before 1992 dont you?
-
It has got to be the original "Super, Super Jay" or "Jay Rodriguez na na na na". Purely for the originality and also the fact that we can utilise the plastic at the back of the stand to keep the beat. I also cant wait to see the look of fear and intimidation on Paul Scholes' face when we tell him he looks like a wotsit. lol

I remember the days of the Archers Road end and the early days of the northam. There were quite often some witty chants made up ont he spot that took off straight away, generally directed to an individual away supporter or a player on the pitch. This would never happen now, as soon as a song starts which does not involve clapping like a down syndrome seal or is not to the tune of sloop john b, it just doesnt work. I cant think of the last chant we have had which has not been taken from another team. Other than the most hilarious and intimidating song of all time, "look like a wotsit". But to sing "Im forever blowing bubbles" is just pathetic, did people really think it was going to get under the millwall fans' skin. Or did people actually think they were being really funny. As the poster above said, do you actually think it is funny when every team sings "small team in portsmouth"? It is boring. Gone are the days of us actually being known as one of the wittiest sets of fans, we are now even more predictible than Colchester and MK Dons. Even though the Palace song is utter w@nk, at least it was original when they started singing it.

Pompey at home- something a bit special

I see what you mean. How about after we finish our village people tribute, we all do a Lesley Grantham webcam and suck our middle finger whilst staring directly in to the skates eyes??? That sound any better?? -

Amazing idea!!! But only if we can all spell out the letters together withnour arms. Also it may come across better if we dress like the village people. So dust off your hot-pants and cut off jean shorts. Maybe we should have a trial run in the home game before. I cant wait to see the skates really wound up and intimadated. -

Its just my opinion that De Ridder has not been much better than Jonno. has certainly not lived up to the over hyped expectations on this forum. Seems to have alot of pace but doesn't really know what to do with it, quite often tries to do too much and ends up tackling himself. Last min on Saturday being a classic example. I didnt say that Jonno was any better than him, just that he is not much worse and that peoples judgement may be clouded by the fact we only signed Jonno from S****horpe and also the fact that people don't realise how many times De Ridder loses the ball as they are too busy shouting his first name.
-
I personally dont think De Ridder is much better than Jonno Quick. Not sure what De Ridder has given us that Jonno didn't. But then again we signed Jonno from S****horpe and not some dutch outfit. Also Jonno didn't have a couple of youtube videos for us to splatter our load over. And to cap it off, if we all shout "Jonnnnnno" it wont give us as much stiffy's as shouting "Steeeeeeve"

Is there a chance of them having a minutes silence on Sunday for their old boy that passed away at the weekend?
-
Agree 100% with this. People moan about this as being a nuisance but 50,000 can get to Wembley on a Sunday for a far far less important game.
-
100% agree with this. It hink people are using the bubble as a bit of an excuse. All this "i cant be bothered to have the old bill herding me around like cattle". Obviously they have not previously travelled the last couple of times as it was just an unofficial bubble. What with waiting about at Southampton Central like refugees for hours on end, then the train just stopping mid route and everyone getting in after kick off after a crawling escort. People make out that if it was not for the bubble they would certainly get a ticket and then skip to fratton park hand in hand singing kum-by-ya.
