My argument is very simple, if people cannot fundamentally understand things like 'socialism' is not 'communism' and that universal health care is not actually bad, and that they want to leave the country because of 'socialism' to move to a country that has universal health care, and that they cannot see that Donald Trump lied to them and did none of the things they voted for, then yes they are a thick cunt. Because its an objective fact. Also ironic statement of the year right there, right winger in the US being a very tolerant and inclusive group of people, oh wait no.

https://imgur.com/ORaj1xe ^ Not sure how you can ever reach people like that, when their views are so fundamentally ignorant.
-
No its not. How can you not understand that if these people clearly cannot see over 4 years of him as President, that Donald Trump has done NOTHING of what he said he would do for them. All the things that they are supposedly 'disillusioned' with the Washington establishment, Trump has done them all, his presidency is the most typical republican presidency you can get, all his policies are squarely establishment republican policies that do nothing for the average American. Even the economy that he harps on being so good, is not really good, employment was fake even before covid people working temp jobs, multiple jobs just to make ends meet. His tax plan saves money for the rich over 10 years, all the benefits over 10 years go to the top 1% and middle class families are worse off. He said he'd stop the jobs moving back he hasn't. He said he'd do his useless wall, he hasn't, barely any of it is built, the US taxpayer paid for it not Mexico and its useless and a giant waste of money. He said he'd clean the swamp of wall street types, his government literally has ex employees of Goldman Sachs. The head of the EPA is a fossil fuels CEO, he put someone in charge of public schools that has never been to a public school in her life and has no educational experience at all. He said he'd replace Obama care with something better, but he hasn't and now he is putting it through the Supreme Court to try to remove protections for pre-existing conditions so if he gets his way millions of Americans with stuff like diabetes or heart problems or complications from covid will be without healthcare. So even if you ignore the race baiting, the constant whinging about anything and everything, the complete mismanagement of covid, the praising of white supremacists, the impeachment and all the other retarded things he has done. If you ignore all that and purely look at what he has done for the average person as president and that section of the vote you said were feeling neglected by their government, HE HAS DONE NOTHING AND ACTUALLY MADE LIFE WORSE FOR THEM. So yes if those people after 4 years of evidence that he is a complete fraud and lied to them, and they got none of the change they were seeking they STILL vote for him again, then yes they are clearly very dumb and ignorant, and whatever the democrats do you cannot reach people like that. Trump won the vote in Florida with a boost in Latinos who thought they were voting against 'socialism', just highlighting my point exactly, not only is socialism not the giant bogey man they think it is and it would actually help make their lives better, but also Joe Biden is the least socialist democrat you could ever get. I saw another woman interviewed who said she was worried that if Biden won they would get universal healthcare and that was socialism, so she said she would move to Cost Rica, which has universal healthcare. Also I did not say ALL these people were racists. I said very clearly a big proportion of his base, those MAGA nuts are clearly racist. Those people don't win him elections, but very clearly they are there and he plays up to them. And yes right wing goverments do that more than left wing, that is just a simple fact. You want to look how many times Trump and the Republicans have lied over the past 4 years? In 2016 I understand if people voted for an outsider, not a bland, typical establishment candidate in Hillary, wanting change, I got that, and I understand that. But in 2020, if those same people vote for Trump for the same reasons, after completely failing them at every level, then those people are just stupid and there is no reaching them.

6 weeks is recovery, probably another 2-3 for him to get fitness back, realistically we are not going to see him fit and firing until Jan. Big blow, of course could be worse but I am not sure we will sustain any sort of European challenge with Ings out for 2 months.
-
Yes there are but these people are clearly idiots if they have voted for him again. I get it in 2016, but he has literally done the opposite of what he said and has done nothing to help these people, hes given tax benefits to the rich, hes literally played with their lives by mishandling Covid, instead of clearing the 'swamp' as he put it, he has filled his cabinet with people that are the epitome of the establishment and who are basically like him, rich people who are in positions of power because they are rich not because they are good at the jobs. That section of voters he has failed horribly and he knows it because he didn't even campaign on any of that stuff again, his whole campaign has been based around stupid conspiracy theories and blaming other people for problems he has created. If those people cannot see that now then they are dumb and are correctly labelled as such. Also a good proportion of those people are racists, lets not kid ourselves here. Consistently right wing governments get Turkeys to vote for christmas through lying, vote suppression, race baiting, fear mongering, victim baiting, blaming everything else under the sun but them and the idiot turkeys swallow it hook line and sinker. And what does it get them? Nothing, they literally vote against making their lives better. So anyone voting for Trump should feel ashamed, I have seen plenty of people who voted for him in 2016 who were ashamed and were visibly upset that their vote had put him into power and that is had directed harmed people because of the race baiting, the division, the covid mismanagement, the lying etc. I saw one woman who literally broke down into tears because she felt so guilty she had unleashed that moron onto the country. Yes the stupid Democrats should actually offer change instead of a diet establishment republican that will change nothing, had they actually no repeatedly cheated Bernie out of the nomination I seriously doubt Trump would ever have been President and he certainly wouldn't be winning now. However that doesn't excuse the mass stupidity that is voting for Trump right now, they have had 4 years of him, if you are not some inred racist redneck or very wealthy white person, then those people have very few legitimate arguments as to why anyone should vote for him.

Passed the ball to the opposition multiple times, several of which have led to goals. McCarthy is a good shot stopper, his distribution is poor though and its an important part of how we play. It's why we signed Gunn, he was supposed to be our number 1, because he is good with his feet but his shot stopping has not been good enough. So I wouldn't be surprised if the club are looking at this area again, we have 3 first team keepers not of whom are really good enough for various reasons. It's an obvious area to upgrade IMO, along with the number 10 roles or winger roles, as I think we lack someone who can unlock defences especially when we play against low blocks and teams that don't play out from the back to so getting turnovers near their goals is difficult.

JWP free kicks of 20? 😛

We'll likely be without Ings, Bertrand and maybe Bedernak, plus Newcastle are stubborn negative football team with a lot of pace on the counter, so I think it'll be a hard game.
-
To be fair I think Ward-Prowse has shown hes a top class player over the last year. He's been vital to that midfield, filled in as an emergency at both full backs now comfortably, taken the captaincy and led by example and has increased his goal output. He'd also be a very big loss. But even for the top teams their best players can't be replaced, look at Laporte or Aguero for City, VVD for Liverpool etc. If you look at our goals to expect goals not only this season but basically over the last year, we have more goals than our expected goals and that is largely down to Ings basically being the most efficient striker in the league. He is our Harry Kane and we have less good players to fill the void.
-
The teams position and play currently is amazing, there is real potential for a surprise season I think, but if the Ings injury is long then I think that goes away, he's a big part of why we are so efficient with our chances.
-
Yeh of all our striking options I'd go with Walcott. Not sure you can read much into those late goals, gifted pen from a dive, which is just bad refereeing, last goal took a deflection as well and the enforced changes upsetting the balance of the team. To be fair on Stephens he is coming cold into a game, having not played for a while and then the settled defensive mid in front of him gets changed as well. We also should have been 5 up anyway and they should have been down to 10. For 60 minutes they really had no sniff and we dominated, the injuries caused the main issues and some refereeing helped them along as well. The worry is the injuries, hopefully a precaution to take all 3 off.
-
We can't F this up can we?
-
He's already pretty insane, he's only just turned 20 and has nearly 100 senior goals in like 140 games. Including now 6 in 7 for Norway and 15 in 15 in European games. If he improves he is going to be Messi/Ronaldo levels of goalscoring records. His off the ball movement is what impresses me much, so intelligent at timing runs and finding space in the box that it often means the finish is pretty simple. Really hope he doesn't end up at Utd. --------------------------- Good to see Elyounoussi doing well, two nice goals. I know its only Celtic but hes doing well in Europe as well, should at least raise his value if we want to sell him end of the season.
-
Why does David Luiz keep making the same mistakes over and over? Because he is just not that good of a defender. Its one thing knowing what went wrong, its another thing correcting it.
-
Same team, I don't think you can change after a performance like that. Theo just gives us another option if things don't go well. Play at the same level as Everton and we'll beat them, I don't know why people are saying their defence is good, did you see the Leeds goals, they were good finishes but they let Bamford have so much time to take multiple touches in the box. Also Liverpool were awful and still managed to score 2. 2 of their other shut outs were against goal shy Sheff Utd and awful Fulham. Plus a Leicester without Vardy. I think Ings and Adams will give them trouble.
-
People forget that promoted clubs have far more room in their budgets to make lots of signings, especially as transfers are accounted for across the years of the players contract as well. So the likes of Fulham, Villa, Sheff Utd, Leeds etc. will be coming from championship wages and suddenly getting £100s of million from TV money, that gives them way more flexibility than the likes of us or Palace who will be sitting with a PL players on PL wages. Personally looking at net spends for most clubs I'd say us, West Ham, Palace, Burnley, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leicester, and probably going forward (if they stay up) Leeds, Sheff Utd and West Brom are be run in a fairly sustainable approach, some of those clubs may have had some investment in the past from their owners but there certainly isn't signs its happening a lot now. Villa, Fulham are clearly getting some extra investment in, how long that continues if they stay in the league we'll have to see, FFP restrictions will start applying to them more the longer they are in the league and where they have to start renewing contracts on bigger wages. Chelsea and Man City are obviously the clubs with the biggest investment but I think both are trying to run more sustainably, Chelsea's big spend this year is not Abramovich its the sale the Hazard (and others) combined with a transfer ban. It's also their 'loan army', they sell on players they barely play often making money from them. Everton are probably the ones who have had the most pumped into them by the owner in the last few seasons. Leicester are basically a better version of us now, they sign players for relatively small fees and then sell them on after 2-3 years for big profits, like Mahrez, Kante, and Maguire. If Maddison or Soyuncu has a good season this year they'll sell someone like that for big profit.
-
I don't think it is, our team is highly organised and plays at a frantic pace, we know we perform a lot better with decent rest and time for Ralph to prepare for games. No league cup helps us with that, especially with a constricted calendar this year. I also don't think we need anyone else, there are areas we can improve but I doubt you'll find that in January. We have cover for most positions maybe not like for like quality but then who really does, even the big clubs struggle with that. Get the 3 contracts done is the biggest priority, and then by next summer we are hopefully further clear of the deadwood and there will be more room in the finances for a couple of quality upgrades. A good season, maybe around the top 8, no relegation flirting, no sales of key players and then more room in the budget to try to push on for a European place the following season. (that's if the big boys haven't completely shut that down by then) Depending on how Salisu performs (which might create the need for another centre-back), I reckon main upgrade areas would be GK and a no.10.
-
Need to hope he continues to be under rated and under the radar. You'd think a coach who improves players in these financial times might be highly sought after. I think probably the biggest threat might come from Germany, though I doubt Bayern will need anyone soon but Dortmund might and I can see him being a good fit there. The big 6 don't seem to appoint 'project' coaches at the moment unless they are ex-players, I should imagine if Lampard or OGS or Arteta get sacked they will then see that as a failure and get a big name in I reckon, rather than someone perceived as a risk.
-
IIRC I think the Athletic said the Europe's elite clubs do this about every time the Champions league deals get renewed to basically force UEFA into conceding more money and power to them. I think they said it goes all the way back to the creation of the champs league from the European cup where you had the group stages so big clubs didn't go out in the first round. Further proposed changes to the Champs league are coming and they proposing 2 group stages I think, even possibly two divisions where certain teams are basically guaranteed to play (because it will be based on previous performance) and the new Europa League 2 or whatever it is called basically acts as qualification. It's the same with like the seedings, done to keep the big teams in the competition and make it hard for the newcomers to get through. Expect the format changes to the Champions league coming in a few years to basically favour the big clubs even more.
-
It come up so the big clubs can negotiate better terms in the champions league and take home more of the money.
-
Credit to him he has massively stepped up his game, not only replacing Hojberg but really improving on him. I personally thought he was coming to the end of his time with us, didn't seem mobile enough but have to say he has proved me wrong.

I didn't get the Everton love in before this anyway, some sort of nostalgia for the 80s glory days? Their other results were beating Palace, West Brom and West Ham, the only stand out result was the away win at Spurs, who are hardly the powerhouses they were 2-3 years ago. They then got incredibly lucky against Liverpool mainly thanks to the officials all round having a bad day. Yes Rodriguez is a good signing and they have added some extra in midfield, but that the minimum they had to do as they were bang average last year. Rodriguez as well is a guy who for the last 3-4 years basically can't complete a season and gets injured, and their defence is poor with one of the most calamity keepers in the league, did they really think they were going to sustain some sort of top 4 challenge? They also despite spending millions and millions don't have any depth, Iwobi was awful and they paid what £35 million for him? We thoroughly outplayed them and looked sharper and quicker to everything. Plus the sending off was pretty irrelevant to the result, they hadn't had a sniff really before that. I think we have a pretty much as good a chance as them as challenging for European slot to be honest, I think they will be down with us in the 7th-10th spots end of the season.
-
IIRC BBC said we had the exact same record as Leicester since the result
-
My honest opinion could see a yellow for that challenge, but at the same time the previous challenge was also a yellow just before so in combo and the fact he just seemed determined to bring him down regardless of the ball it all seemed very cynical and was dangerous even if was probably accidental. Best start since Koeman, which is a good omen. Also saw on the BBC that JWP has now scored 13 goals in 60 something games under Ralph, compared to 10 in like 172 before that, shows the impact a good manager can have on a player, he has made all our players better I think. If we can avoid lengthy injuries to key players then potential for a genuinely exciting season. Top 6 might be too far but you never know with the way things have started, plenty of the challengers for those spots have dropped a lot of points already that the amount of points to get in there could be lower than usual. No wonder the likes of Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool etc. are trying to take more power, all their advantages and financial muscle but the likes of us, Leeds, Leicester, West Ham, Wolves, Villa etc. are taking points of them and knocking on the closed shop they want to have. Leicester and Wolves have already been threatening to get in there the last two seasons. This Project Big Picture and Euro Super League I don't think is any coincidence when you look at the unpredictable start to the season.

Richarlison is already a big miss as he seems to always score against us. With James Rodriguez as well their side seems a lot more ordinary and like it was last year. If we can keep Calvert-Lewin quiet, then pressure their defence which is not good IMO should do well.
