Everyone needs to lighten up.Coventry are top,they have played Norwich and Barnsley,we're second bottom having started at Cardiff where the majority of our division wouldn't have got a result on day one followed by the championship favourites who again the majority of our division will struggle to beat this season.Had we had Coventrys fixtures i am certain we would be top after two games.I have seen enough quality in Saints already this season to suggest we will win a lot of games,and i'd like to add i am generally a pessamist regarding Saints.After two very narrow and unlucky defeats i still feel very confident in our young team.

The thing is though this could be exactly the right time to be playing them,this being our first home league game you would think the team will be desperate to put on a good show for the manager and the fans and Saints do generally raise their game against the top sides,so the fixture man might actually have done us a favour.

Tough one saturday for our first home game but i feel we'll do enough for a point. Saints 2 Birmingham 2

They have Marcus Stewart up front so he's bound to score against us. a hard fought 2-1 win for Saints.

The perfect response will be to beat the Championship favourites next week.I feel we are playing them at the right time just after a narrow gut wrenching defeat and in our first home game of the season.I fully expected defeat today but i listened to the whole game and i heard enough to suggest we're going to be ok this season.

Absoloutly gutted but its our home form thats going to be the key this season.

Yeah i know,the missus wants to see it.

Going to see Flashdance at the Mayflower on saturday night so i might do a streak accross the stage screaming "oh when the Saints go marching in".

Lose 2-1 .Just hope nobody gets injured for saturday.

I just hope Cardiff will go out expecting an easy 3 points and we go out and play like we did against West Ham,then maybe we may come away with at least a point.Cardiff have had a brilliant pre season having beaten and drawn with some big teams and saturday is going to be a very hard game.

Thats more like it i feel better now.

Despite the renewed optimism,myself included,i'm very worried about the first 3 games.I just cant see us getting anything at Cardiff and then Birmingham and Derby in my opinion are likely defeats.This could shatter the confidence of the young players and we could really struggle if this happens.God i hope i'm wrong,i usually am by the way.
