Hughes will see the end of his topflight managerial career this season. MMW...another B. Robson in the making

The 'getting a bit desparate' Centre Back thread.
theyin replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Still can't believe Dawson isn't on our radar. Those decrying his form and availability should check his wiki page. Agreed he ain't worth the 9M offered by QPR but who knows what his problem is with them. He may just see a future at SMS on 40K a week. -
He's twenty freakin 8 FFS. A few years ago 28 was considered the beginnings of a player's prime and you would've been correct but surely with sports science As it is and diet etx etc, that period lasts a whole lot longer. Agreed as elsewhere though, aint going to happen and like s-Clarke says another one of those one season wonder wingers that fail to live up to expectations once snapped up by the big boys

And to think a Bridgey thread got locked for being preposterous

Just watched a bunch of donkeys watching a ball being kicked abou for an hour and a half. Shower of shoite, waste of money. Sorry but I don't think I've been so disappointed watching Saints in my life. To think I was going to have 20 notes on us at 4-1. Glad I never

So now we know what we're dealing with, quotes can be seen as having a greater validity and rest, well we take it as we see it. Possibly a creditable leak from within a club or someone with an agenda. Wherever it's from, it's what we, for better or worse, demand, else why buy papers or click online? You may as well just wait on the OS for your updates.

Forgive my ramblings Jam but yeah, you got it

Saintbletch..... Not sure about complainingg...just stating the fact, which it is, that many twieeters, like many on here, simply rubbish anything they come up with and simply believe everything is made up at the morning editorial meeting and then they go out on the large. If you were being slagged of in your job for doing what your employed to do, wouldn't you have something to say? The fact is there is now a forum where anyone can now view what would've originally have been a letter to an ed. If you consider it a journo having a whine so be it. For me, if he's got the ability to 'fight' back against his and his colleagues detractors, so be it. It's a dog eat dog world.
-
As the journo states, they have sources, they print what thy hear, they are in the business of informing us, we want to hear about our club ( 'coz we sure ain't going to get it from them ) as WTF else are we going to drone on about on here? If you don't like it, don't read the papers and certainly don't comment on any rumours as as with most things, the truth is out there, you just have to deal with some carp to get at it. A bit like life really. Don't understand saintbleach or David in sweden's comments at all and as for the journo doing the wah wahs ...????????

Thought this might be of interest to some.... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/how-the-daily-mirror-broke-the-robin-1266386

I don't understand why people are lambasting the numbers supporting a club who have only been in the league for 34 years and whose town is largely supportive of another footballing code. Why is the figure of 250 travelling support at all embarrassing? DW decided to spill a shed load into his passion, he doesn't seem to complain if he can't get the majority of the town (dwarfed by nearby Lancashire neighbours) behind his team due to their preference for RL and to boot, offers his managers greater support and loyalty that most PL managers could only dream of. Dare I raise a cliche, but surely the club should be applauded for playing above their station inspite of this? Just don't get it ... that's all

Another day passes without any news. I tell ya, updating the forum is getting as interminable as checking fb to see what inane drivel comes up on there. Two weeks in to my self imposed exile from that godforsaken hellhole. I feel a freer man. Would I feel like I'm making better use of my time if I wasn't constantly rechecking here, BBC Gossip and the paper's transfer rumours pages? Life was so much simpler when you relied soley on the dailies and Solent in the summer. Remember being in the sun somewhere on the Costa's and waiting for a two day old Mirror or Sun to appear to get your fix?

So is there a thread for players who CDAJFU and are known to be available though not linked that SWF members would like to talk about? ..if you get what I mean
-
The Northam? No thanks. From what I've seen on here down the years .... Well, I'll leave it at that

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3691610/Tottenham-head-for-another-crisis-as-Michael-Dawson-considers-his-future.html If this is true then surely Dawson should be on our radar (though in the scheme of things how ANY footballer is worth more than a few grand a week I'll never know). He's proven, admired by his peers and apart from his injury last term has NOT spent long on the treatment table. As for upsetting our other CB's if we paid him 40-50K, if they're good enough then surely they'll get rewarded appropriately. As it is, he'll probably be blinded by some ridiculous package from QPR. Pity, IMO he could seriously have been our new killer

Ahh, presumably that's the ticket prices quoted behind the immovable ad. Morning shock over. 30 quid tickets sound much more reasonable though I might be a bit excitable for the family enclosure if that's where they are. Advice sought please. We do have a family railcard, 50 quid return from Clapham Junction for two which is acceptable - done it enough this summer.
-
Where's your evidence re problems and WTF are you on about re 'ageing one' - he's 28 FFS. One longterm injury in his career last season. Wages aside, I'm flabbergasted there is any doubt that we should be in for this fella. I'm also astounded players are attracted to playing for Sparky, he does nothing for me.
-
Over from Oz living in London until we return, read this & thought I'd have a bit. FORTY TWO FREAKIN QUID!!!! FOOKIN 'ELL So, including booking fee for 3 (er indoors & Soton based ol fella) & train down that's £180. This is absolutely ridiculous. An hour and a halve's entertainment for 180 sheets. Proud to be plastic. P2P4U it is. I'm in shock. Football has gone mad if it thinks this is sustainable. Cue the derogatory comments.

^ last season's lengthy injury layoff is clouding your knowledge of the lad. Tevez apparently said of him "the best English defender I have played against".
-
Does he seriously have mobility issues? Guardian today quotes this as being AVB's problem with him. Screw the HCDAJFU thread, NC should be on the blower first thing
-
My best man was a skate season ticket holder. So shoot me Says the best thing that could happen was liquidation and watch them rise thought the ashes ala Aldershot. Go to a rave kids and see that it doesn't matter or better still speak to your grandad who uses to go down and watch them when the Saints were away. Said it before and I'll say it again, all you haters both side of the fence are deluded
-
Is the use of the term 'mong' necessary? Not sure if it is an i'net abbreviation or the school playground slating of the 70's but it is truly offensive to a section of society whom I would think a significant minority on here may well have some family ties to. Get a grip kids.
-
He was hated at Pompey when he returned. What did he do? Brought them success and he was loved again (though not as much). You can't get much more of a fickle person than a football fan so I would suggest if he came, blew NC's millions and brought us a modicum of success then even the Northam will be singing his name in praise. He has already shown he has the front to make a return, I also think his ego is big enough to come back if he was offered the chance. He certainly wouldn't be worrying about fans getting on his back. God forbid it never happens though. I'd also suggest that if we have been whopped 5 games into the season, it is more likely to be the actions of the fans that will ultimately determine NC's response. The Northam especially. Whatever your feelings, 5 games is not enough to determine the season going forward so anyone thinking of venting their anger (ridiculous given the task at hand in the first 5 games), should keep their mouths shut and look at encouraging the team and not getting on their backs....or NA's. For that's the story the media will ring in about us.
