  1. I've been staying away from games for years now. The price to see a bunch of overpaid journey men and failed new dawns in the past ten years or so has only been alleiviated by MLT and a couple of other men that showed the game and club mattered to them. I don't apologise for football not being all it was to me in years past. The whole game is far from for the fan anymore and what's been on offer has hardly lived up to the hype. But I'm born in Southampton and the game will always be my number 1 sporting interest. I say well done to you that have followed the entirity of the team's highs and lows your support is always appreciated when we appear on telly. There is indeed something noble about the wherever/through thick and thin fan, but some have other priorities, interests, financial reasons, work shifts and schedules that don't allow us to be at SMS or Crewe or Blackpool or Doncaster on a wet and rainy January Tuesday(not that I'd particularly want to). But don't ever acuse me or others like me who look first to see how the Saints are doing, come on here to seek out a bit of gossip or occasionally turn up at a game when the moment allows. We're still red and white through and through.
  2. Finally sound like I'll get to a game. The first since whopping Hodd's Spurs team at SMS in the Cup (come on all you slayers of characeter, questioner of loyalty - my shoulders are big enough to withstand the barrage of abuse for being a fair weather fan, if one at all). I worked with a QPR fan this summer who said it was great to be playing Saints again as there was always a good bit of banter when we came together. As soon as the ticket office is open I'm after a general sale ticket. Has the lower tier been filled yet?
  3. All sounds great to me. Hope I can get down soon for a gander close up. Worries me this talk of the cup being a non entity. Surely we should be happy getting as far as possible in this cup. Winning attracts attention and winning attractively even more. If our name's out there more of these kids from the elite teams will be happy about coming here. That's not to say I want a team full of loanees but ones to replace the others that their clubs see as having progressed far enough at SMS to return to their first team. What greater compliment is there of the way JP is getting the boys to play? Plus the further we go the better chance of us seeing something from the past - a prem ground. That'll test the lads. I hope this sprinkiling of early success continues COYR Did anyone say on our run to Wembley in '79 what a pointless cup it was?
