I like the home shirt, how about a red line ala the collar on the cuffs to go fully retro - a hint of the Patrick

Agreed, Dellman has it, is NC's proximity to the team a help as well? If this is true, is his winning attitude an added bonus to the mentality going forward within the club. I think we should all congratulate NC, it would be great to hear it on the radio over here. Everyone getting the opportunity to follow the team up at SMS up to and against Walsall - I'm jealous.

you are such a k no b and no, I don't wear replica shirts and no, I'm not fat

I wonder what the letters to the editor comments in the Echo & Pink were when Saints launched the Patrick kit all those years ago? I'd lay money on their being an outcry at the loss of stripes - not that the admiral one beforehand was in anyway traditional - but to go down to three blocks of colour - sheesh. I'd love the three stripes, it reminds me of the best of times supporting Saints.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/apr/04/michael-jackson-statue-al-fayed?INTCMP=SRCH you really think so?

NA seems to be thankful to the fans for getting behind the team when we were down. A change is philosophy from the Northam? Keep it up lads, it seems to work.

warm up for Hibs here at 1'37"

Nope, he's from Winchester and no, he really meant it. He has no sporting interest whatsoever. Any mention of such is simply to ingratiate himself with listeners....and Saints fans Ok a tad pedantic with the Winchester bit, it's close enough but I stand by the rest

OConnell has never been a Saints fan. He started claiming he was when 'getting down' with the footy listeners on Xfm in London when we reached the cup final. The guy is a complete knob who when we were relegated asked listeners who he should support instead. You can bet your bottom dollar he got a pea brained PR to answer the questions for him

reading the comments, sounds like their boys have some notabel memories of the day as well. One hell of an invasion at the end.

how come BBC London commentary works in Oz on the laptop but BBC Solent on the PURE Avanti Flow internet radio is playing regular programming?]

Since when did having the bigger sponsor become bragging rights? You lot slagging this deal off need your head seeing to. By the way, had anyone heard of AIG or AON (save those in insurance) before they appeared on Man U shirts? ...Thought not. Get a life and concentrate on the footy

He's always in the studio with Carlton Palmer commentating on the PL for the Ten (Tata so Indian channel I guess) whenever I watch a game on p2p4u. Surely they aren't paying for them to live it up in Dubai?
-
Surely not??? I wonder if there is a footballer that has taken so much, from so many, for so long?

Imagine if you will, five years down the road, we're in the Prem and it's Cup Final day, held 40 years to the day after our last triumph in the FA Cup and there leading us out was Mike Gosney. The lad who came late to the professional game, was taken a punt on by the club he supported as a boy and has helped them rise through the divisions to a respectable 9th that season. It'll only take a bit of that Gosney magic to see the Saints back in Europe next season. It'll be a cracker and worth a punt by some young documentary maker to get in touch with Mike along with their camera at the ready to follow upcoming developments, if Mike's as good as people suggest and commits himself, it'll be bigger than Escape to Victory. That was a doc wasn't it?

late kick off talking new plans for new youth system
theyin replied to K,Billy's supersound's topic in The Saints
Added to the fact you sell an AOC every two years and you've paid for its upkeep and pocketed 5 mil to go into the war chest. At least now we're out of the days of selling gold and getting peanuts. -

If category 1 is NC's goal I believe that he'll get it. I'm sure someone has the figures he'll use to back up Saints argument that it is a continued and sustained provider of English players to the bigger stages and the national team. -
Obviously done in a deeper tone and somewhat inspired by Celtics fans antics .... sorry about that, had a libation or two. It's Saturday night here after all. Probably too corny for some but a bit of self deprecation never hurt anyone. To the tune of ... and I'm embarrassed that Tight Fit's rendition is the one that was in my ear given the amount of more worthy versions out there... In St Mary’s The mighty Saints They’ll prowl on you today/tonight. In St Mary’s The mighty Mary’s The Saints they’ll d’you today/tonight. In the city, Our mighty city, The Saints they’ll roar today/tonight Shout louder lads, Don’t let up our boys, The Saints they roar today/tonight Who whooo, who whoo, oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo We’ll win today, we’ll win today, we win today ahhhhh or shall I not give up the day job?

Will I be able to listen from Australia if I sign up? Also anyone know if the Pure Avanti Flow will play the game on internet radio, Radio Solent station ..if you know what I mean.

I am just as flabbergasted as you at those that leave early especially when they've paid good money to go see the game. I do get angry at the image of empty Wembley seats on the halfway line prior to and after halftime. What sort of image does this project to the world watching England play. These are the 'prawn sandwich' brigade I despise as most are there on a corporate freebie
-
Turkish - so you're a proper fan just because the only money you put into the club is your gate receipt? I don't wear colours but don't see the problem and pie and Bovril have been part of the game experience since long before you came on the scene. I suppose you think it's better to fill the pockets of Enterprise pubs, Punch Taverns and Wetherspoons as well though in this I have to agree until the beer contract is changed at SMS

Interesting reactions to thoughts of a fan from another team. I'll let him know it was a 50-50 split between better/worse off shall I? For my part, isn't being a socc...sorry football fan (it's living in Melbourne that's making me say that obnoxious word) all about hypotheticals, dreams and aspirations for our team? Thread titles are split 50-50 between fact and what if's and lets be honest, a bit of banter about the latter is a whole lot better than the derogatory comments that accompanies many of the posts.

Just a thought and forgive me if it's already been brought up but my Forest mate reckons we were mad to have gotten rid of him. Says we'd be in the auto prom places if he was in charge. Have to say, I'm wondering if he might be right. 53% win ratio at Saints, best of his career.

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
theyin replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
There's a history of so called big clubs lingering in this division for 2 or three seasons, aka Leeds & Forest, are we to be the next? My Forest mate reckons its a psychological thing that extends from the boardroom to the stands which inhibits the club clambering out at the first attempt....though of course City did it. With Bournemouth there is no pressure, expectation etc. Lightening the load in this way can only be a bonus. Unfortunately 27 years in the top flight (which any other clubs' fanbase will always give us massive credit for) has clouded our perception of where we 'belong'. I'm guilty, I'm sure others are as well.
