I can't believe my eyes TBH. A sales pitch for a Prem player on youtube, or that's what it seems to be, it beggers belief

NAIL ON HEAD. Early 90's abominations and short shorts next

Decision making relating to all levels of club / supporter relationships are quite the most strangest aspect of following the Saints since the takeover. I'm guessing the marketing department are to blame, sanctioned by NC. Whomever it is, they need a wake up call which I hope is born out by a complete lacking in pre-orders. I guess in the next few days we'll begin to hear of people that have done the unthinkable .... and question their sanity. An email campaign to the head of marketing to sort it out for next season wouldn't go amiss.

A proper link to a player in the foreign press - Innocent Emeghara

I just hope NC is working his magic somewhere. I really can't see the current squad achieving anything other than survival in the NPC. It's probably one of the strongest leagues at this level in years in terms of heavy weight clubs that we will be coming up against - most of which are making big noises in terms of prospective signings. That list of PL released players of a few weeks back surely has to be the level at which we should be looking to sign if we are to stand any chance of mid table mediocrity which in itself wouldn't be a bad thing, for a season, I'd just like to see a bit more enthusiasm to push on than the names being linked so far. Two or three marquee signings that gets us noticed would be great. Personalities on and off the pitch which generates a buzz about the place like in LM's days. I'm sure there must be experience out there that aren't just about taking the money and who really want to be remembered for helping take us back to the big time in the twilight of their careers. Mix that with a couple of eager youths coming in and we could well replicate Norwich's success of last season. It's happened before, it can happen again.
-
Why, have you got anything better to talk about? No signings, kit or stadium extension news as far as I'm aware so what do you suggest? Totally forgot ale was available in bottles. This is the way to go rather than that Tetley's/John Smith's muck. Having lived not far from the Sambrook's brewery, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Wandle & Junction. The lad Sambrook comes from Salisbury and if memory serves me correct (drunken chat at the Battersea Ale Festival), even though he's a rugby type, I believe Saints are his chosen side.

Working in Qatar at the time and a few journos, football types etc had nothing but good to say about the fella. One of the games gents. Good luck to him.

Would much prefer a real ale but can't see it happening (too long to pour) and never tasted Proibido lager (Brazilian). But if the two hotties used on a mates latest photo assignment were serving it up at SMS, I'd gladly make the change http://proibida.com.br/home.php answer SIM and go to Galeria de fotos

Back to square one again are we? As I've already said, the work has already been done IMO in #123 and I'm adding another with #133 (one you claimed to love in fact) - the latter without the Liebherr (though there is something appealing about the font) & F.A.S. at the top. So I do not have a problem with everything. I think you'll find Liverpool have come up with a multitude of examples of how to do the job so why vere from a proven formula? They're lucky they don't have stripes but I'm sure they had to contend with plenty of wannabe gfx designers with a 'borrowed' copy of photoshop putting in their two penneth worth. I have not once called for any money to be forked out on professional designers, not once. I was more than sure that there would be a professional on here able to help or a decent amateur/student of graphic design who could come up with the goods. I think I'm proven right with the examples given above. I don't give a toss about rubbing people up the wrong way if it's going to save us the embarrassment of another statue. Look familiar?

By a blind man Mike. It bears no resemblense whatsoever. You were almost convinced in #254 regarding the style of the image. Gecko's recent offerings are just too clean. Sorry but the shape of ML's head means in a clean style aka Gecko's, it's just too .....cartoonish. The 'disfigurement' of the 'dirty' style offers up something a lot more stylish. As for the barbers awning/retro KFC bucket/Tesco bag (minus the blue), come on, give me a break. I've only just realised it, but stripes only work on a Saints shirt or barbers twisty turney thing. Otherwise they're a garish abomination
-
I give up. Sorry, but undiplomatic or not....it looks crap/cheesey/KFCish & sorry Gecko if it's your profession, but none of them cut the mustard. We had it in post #123 IMO. But there you go. I'm tempted to go on but it looks like a decision has already been made but I would ask each of you to show the 'winner' to one non Saints supporting football fan (ie impartial) and see what they have to say. Preferably one with an ounce of creative nouse upstairs. I know I must seem like a right jumped up t wat to the majority but working in the field I do is all about making it look right and often means amendment after amendment until it's right, so forgive me if I'm a bit blunt as the delivery date looms.
-
Right, I'm prepared to take the flak for this one. Mike, appreciate everything you're doing for this, but that statement alone tells us you are no creative director. Please take into consideration some of the more considered long form comments over the past two pages before making a decision. I'm sure you have unsurmountable talents elsewhere but in design they ain't old son. Sadly true, but remember we're talking about football fans here and if there's a bunch of people you don't want to give even a smidgen of ammo to it's football fans. That's why, even a hint of comment regarding Tesco or KFC....from OUR OWN FORUM should mean that those designs be tossed aside. You can rest assured that if we get this wrong we will be ridiculed for it forever more. Exactly. The Northam had better stop singing 'Come on You Reds' then. nb The that'll do attitude just won't cut it today. There are just too many great efforts out there. Take a look around you at the simplicity of good design today. They are simple, memorable, timeless, versatile and appropriate.

Sorry but it looks like a Retro KFC family bucket to me
-
Dear oh dear. Look, I'll give you the 'p1ss poor' comment might've been a tad strong. I was on my way to bed & couldn't bear to think that efforts that have been widely applauded on here might actually get the nod. With regard to me sorting something out, as I say, I employ people to press the buttons, my budgets don't extend to doing something in kind for the forum and tbh I was fully in the belief that someone on here would be able to come up with the goods. Thankfully, Mike's plea of the past few days has given people with the required skills enough of a kick up the behind to bring us to this point. I would repeat though that putting it out to vote would be a massive mistake. Just take a look at the celebrated efforts on the fb page. I think the party's started. I SAID #123 As for acting the big man, I fail to see it unless you've got some exceptional vision and can see my 6'4" frame sitting here typing this. Go pick a fight somewhere else.
-
Why? I've had my say, it's already been done in post #123. I appreciate your time and effort pal, I just don't think they stand up to the standards set by other clubs and I certainly don't want our club looking like a bunch of amateurs who look like they've been given the keys to the crayon cupboard. FYI, I work collaboratively with professionals I employ from time to time to provide the artwork I need for this kind of work. I'll leave it at that rather than resorting to name calling.
-
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not put it out to vote. I'm sorry but there's been enough hysterics for p1ss poor designs on here to suggest that the majority commenting do not have a clue about design today. If it goes out to vote, ok we get a consensus but then settle for mediocrity and most probably ridicule. ML's name DOES NOT need to be mentioned (we know who he is), it DOES NOT need a Thank You(6 grand on a flag is thank you enough) and it doesn't need a badge (does that need explaining?) As mentioned the face (the wave distorts the image and leaves way too much air in the overall image I'm afraid) and 'Forever a Saint' (halo an option but I'm not convinced) are all that is needed. Again, look at the scallys for design direction. Simple is the way.
-
Hurry up Crabby. I gotta hit the sack. I'm as excited as Mike's funky chicken
-
This, however FOREVER A SAINT will do, No Saint Markus, No Thank You, No Badge, No nothing else. As already mentioned, and God knows why, but the scallys get it right every time. SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE. EVERYTHING ELSE SUGGESTED ON HERE HONESTLY LOOKS FREAKIN AWFUL. SORRY, APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT BUT IF IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE, IT WOULD BE QUITE FRANKLY EMBARRASSING TO HAVE ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN THE MOST SIMPLISTIC OF DESIGNS WITH THE MOST SIMPLE OF MESSAGES

Who was your favourite foreign Saints player? (current players don't count)
theyin replied to dune's topic in The Saints
Ivan Golac Without a doubt.... Of his time with Southampton, Golac said: "Beautiful football, beautiful supporters and beautiful days. From day one, from the very first kick, I could sense a connection with the crowd. They were terrific. "There was fire on the park – The Dell was always in flames and a lot of the opponents from London, Manchester and Liverpool just couldn't stand the heat." Couldn't put it better myself. Didn't he wear it well? -
They've been let go by Prem sides, sure they're going to want more money than we've been paying out over the past few years, but surely few would welcome of a few extra seasons earning less ........else they can all go foook off

The Chelsea effect, Duff, Parker, the Blackburn fella that went there and then to Scotland

Is this the new confessional? Could there be a thread without malice? Is this a sign of the more thoughtful, caring, sharing Saints fan breaking through? A daring venture from Turkish I'd say - I was fully expecting another claim of 'what a gay thread'. Interesting reading so far. As for me, since a move down under after marrying a chick from the ethnic minorities, it's been a roller coaster of assimilation. Think 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' and that's pretty much the experience I've had since arriving. Other than that it's been discovering this new home town of mine, the surrounding coastline and up woop woop (bush) as they call it round these parts. Funnily enough, getting into photography as well. Dreaming of a Canon 5D MkII (for it's video capabilities) but can't quite justify it at the moment, especially given my luck the MkIII will be announced the day after I purchase one.

On third look I like the Monaco shirt. Anyone else notice the apparent mix of sash and 76 - 80 Admiral kit? Just noticed the detail on the cuffs as well. This This This. Not the biggest fan ok Nike, can't Umbro borrow it. Oh & just remembered I've already been told its stripes of the traditional kind
