  1. this is not good for my constitution
  2. Somewhat of a London bias
  3. Plenty of Southampton youth did well enough down the years under his stewardship to blow that claim out of the water. I'd like to see anyone of you in a live situation adding content off pat. Give the man a break. No he's not my dad
  4. Rights restrictions????? Here you go Streaming Software Courtesy of Melbourne Saints
  5. Why wouldn't there be? I can't recall anything else of interest in the football world happening at the same time. 5.45am here in Sydney, got up especially, no internet radio so hoping the main man Dakey of Melbourne Saints is streaming the Saintsplayer feed. Where is it m'lad?
  6. Plenty of merchant seamen from the far east pass through Southampton on their stop offs worldwide. The city's name is known via this link and could be something to build upon.
  7. I wasn't on about match reports. Hey, it may just be me. I'm 12,000 miles away, not much banter to be had re rumours from SMS so look to the media for something, anything to give me a fix. Wading through the negativity & sla gging off on here when someone comes out with a snippet, whether it's BS or not is tiresome tbh.
  8. I know I'm going to get a roasting for this but don't you think Chelsea look a whole lot smarter with their shirts tucked in? An utter contradiction on my part given Mickey Channon was my hero and I emulated him through my Admiral and Patrick shirt wearing days but I wonder, like wearing a school uniform properly, the insistence on a smart turn goes some way, however little, to respect for the club. Just a thought.
  9. Is there really an appetite for new eateries and shopping outlets in Southampton? I'd have thought this kind of scheme was viable prior to the GFC but in Southampton? Now? I was of the mind that the city was one of the poorest in the south. It's all very well knocking up a few restaurants for the yachties to moor up beside but I dare say the Reebok classics wearing knuckledraggers would soon scare them off.
  10. It's not just the intl break, it's been since 09
  11. I just can't handle it. We're top of the league but there's hardly anything to be found about our magnificent team. NC's transfer policy of keeping everyone schtum, whilst admirable, is for the punter, damned frustrating, especially in an international break when we're all looking for at least a snippet of news of what's going on. It's come to the point where I don't even care if it's blatantly made up, I just want to read about us in the papers/online. Whilst every game and the aftermath is as exciting as we've experienced since the early/mid eighties, the inbetween time is as dull as ditch water. Anyone else feel the same?
  12. Poor all round IMO. Tucked away in a corner at a match no one went to was by far the most underwhelming sight I've seen concerning Saints.
  13. The FA Cup in the season it is rightfully decided that the winner should enter the CL instead of 4th place finish in the PL. Nothing like a day at Wembley with Saints in attendance - not that I've ever witnessed it first hand mind you.
  14. I was filming a sports tournament in Northern Queensland last week and each of the teams were encouraged throughout by these psychological coaches and in the evening were invited at dinner to listen to inspirational talks from various notables, Steve Waugh, some Ozzy swimmer I can't remember etc etc. One thing that struck me was their infectious enthusiasm. Being the cynical git I am, I swayed between letting out a silent "pah" and shaking my head and then feeling the endorphins bubbling with inspiration. But the way the team's responded took me by surprise. They came out pumped. NA reminds me of the kind of psycho coach/corporate coach/life coach characters I've come across in work (sadly I'm more irritated by their go go, all is going to be alright view on life than inspired), who talk up a good game, get the blood pumping and can inspire those prepared to listen. I just wish I was one of them. On the other hand, when you get him off the inspirational patter, NA sounds a real down to earth bloke, good sense of humour and one I have faith in to take us comfortably into the Prem, this year or next.
  15. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Southampton-target-free-agent-striker-James-Beattie-for-a-return-to-the-club-but-he-s-also-wanted-by-Sheffield-United-article804855.html apart from the 'love' where is there any direct quote in either pieces? Saying that, if he has kept himself fit, which I am sure any committed to the cause professional would have done this past off season, I reckon he could be an asset. However, if he's shown the same attitude as in the past regards fitness, I would not entertain the idea. He's a man of a certain age, ie he needs to keep fit and has the potential to attract a healthy wage packet. If he can't keep himself in pristine condition for the past few months then I doubt he will show any better commitment to our cause if he were signed. Too many journeymen willing to just pick up a wage packet IMO have passed our way of late as opposed to the early days of my watching the Saints. In LM's time these players came in and showed just as much commitment to the cause as the manager that signed them...and they performed. Since the early 90's, a certain Chelsea duo being the first I recall, Saints have on the whole failed to inspire those players they've signed that are reaching the end of their careers (I'll no doubt now be regaled with a multitude now). If NC can be that driving force of inspiration for older players coming to the club as well as the rest, and let's face it, there seems to be a multitude to chose from as we near the zenith, I cannot see why not give Beatts a try. Pay as you play or to end of season contract. Who's to say he's not mellowed out in his old-er age and more importantly settled down south where one of our local lasses is not having to contend with northerners day in day out. A happy wife is after all, a happy hubby.
  16. Can't believe you never put them up individually. You'd have got 15-20 sheets for each of them, easy ....I'd have thought. Hope the winner, sees the possibility and does just that as I can't make it to SMS anytime soon (currently downunder).
  17. Coyr
  18. You heard it here first.... "Baj's Dad lost it for us"
