  1. My Forest mate, reckons we'll be safe from the drop my Christmas. Howz about that then?
  2. So we're saying there's no nutjobs from the leafier suburbs. What a crock of Sh1t. Re the bottom feeders, wherever they may stand or sit, take them out of the group and put them in a civilised situation and I doubt you'd hear a peep anyway.
  3. David St John - a Southampton performer himself in the early years and beyond, has a few pages on his site dedicated to Ricky and his bands down the years. Read about them here... http://www.davidstjohn.co.uk/hilitesearlyyears.html http://www.davidstjohn.co.uk/hilites.html http://www.davidstjohn.co.uk/hilitescontinued.html http://www.davidstjohn.co.uk/bsdreunion.html RIP Ricky

  5. Sorry Mods Just a quick note to those who might not venture over into the lounge where this rightly belongs, and particularly those that hit the town in the late fifties and sixties, and any one else interested in music for that matter - a Southampton legend of the stage in the early days of Rock'n'Roll. Ricky Brown sadly died at the weekend, a performer to the end. RIP RICKY BROWN - your Dad or Grandad will know him Here's a link to the lounge thread http://tinyurl.com/83v4693 I know, not quite on Saints but he did support them
  6. I heard today Ricky Brown - of Ricky Brown and the HiLites a massive Southampton band in the late 50's and 60's, died at the weekend. He brought a lot of joy to many a Sotonian and beyond in his heyday and continued singing live and harbouring desires to hit the big time, right up until the end. http://www.davidstjohn.co.uk/blog2011.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47s2xu0UGjE RIP RICKY forever a Saint
  7. It'll be the B&Q Depot Stadium ... I know this
  8. I arrive back in the UK on May 13th, will I make it for the promo play off final and if so will I be plastic for making it to just one game this season or a hero for traveling 12K miles to the game. Hopefully it won't matter as we'll have gone up champions.
  9. this from Matt Holland's Blog 14 Posted on: 02.11.2011 "On the field, I've been mightily impressed by the way Southampton are performing. Some of their goals this week were fabulously well constructed and all credit must go to Nigel Adkins for the work he's doing with his side. I was speaking to Notts County boss Martin Allen last weekend and he was singing the praises of Adkins. Martin was recalling a conversation he had with the Saints boss a year ago and told me how mightily impressed he was by the way he held himself. According to Martin there is an aura about Adkins, who has an unerring sense of self belief and confidence in what he's doing. It's no surprise then that this is rubbing off on the Southampton players too." Nice one Nige
  10. Contrary to others opinion I think NA is just the sort of fella to welcome someone back into the fold IF said person came out and apologised for their past indiscretions, both to his team mates, employers and fans. Having not seen the lad in the flesh, I can only go on what others say and so it does seem an awful waste. An apology is never likely to be forthcoming though, he doesn't sound as though he has enough class for that.
  11. a most excellent thread
  12. ahh shuddup, you're making me homesick
  13. Perfect oppo for a 'role model' footballer to come out and give a bit of guidance to kids to warn them of the pitfalls of getting so twa tted and being a big I am. No? Didn't think so
  14. The English Super Cup against Spurs in '86. Can't remember the game nor the comp for that matter http://gu.com/p/32qfj

  17. BBC LDN coverage only methinks.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_london unless Melbourne Saints come online anytime soon and stream Saints Player
  18. Not really, just would like to read something once in a while...... and finally after f... knows how long we appear on the BBC Gossip round up....hurrah. Couldn't give a toss whether it's made up, just good to read a rumour in the papers rather than the made up stuff on her by people who obviously "have far too much time" on their hands i.e. 1+K posts http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/9623403.stm
  19. Quite a few teams below who've had shocking starts are now winning impressively, are we to start bricking it about everyone of them?
  20. Two very happy chaps here in Sydney on the way to work. One a Forest fan, reckons we're going to storm this league. I'm a tad more circumspect and will continue to predict playoffs until we're 20 points clear with 5 to play
