  1. Good to hear. Will 99.9% of us be reassessing our judgement of him come the end of the season? It remains to be seen.
  2. Kevin Davies??? Why on earth not? I'd bank on him being a more reliable source of goals, assists and crosses than Guly during the run in, any day of the week. Lambo & Davis, they'd be knockout. Guardian reports Sunderland in for loaning him. I'd have him. Anyone else had three stints for Saints?
  3. meh, got up early for that shoite. What is going on in these player's minds?
  4. Sounds like Reid was one of Branfoot's better bits of business. from wiki: Following his dismissal by Manchester City, in October 1993 Reid was persuaded by Ian Branfoot to resume his playing career with Southampton who were then in the middle of a crisis: the Saints fans were calling for Branfoot to be sacked with the club having lost eight of their first nine games. Reid brought a touch of guile and stability to the Saints side; despite playing only eight games he made a major contribution to the team's fortunes as Saints' season started to come together. He led them to some important victories, most specially over Newcastle United on 24 October 1993, a game in which Matthew Le Tissier scored two goals. His final game for Saints was a 3–1 victory over Chelsea on 28 December 1993.[5] Branfoot was sacked a few days later (after a home defeat by Norwich City). Reid was touted as a possible replacement for Branfoot, but he stated that, as Branfoot had brought him to the club, it would only be fair that he left as well. Reid then had brief playing spells with Notts County and Bury before he retired from playing.
  5. I think the most worrying aspect of this is the fact he's now 'training with the kids'. Surely his stinking attitude is not what you want around impressionable young minds which in all likelihood, already have over inflated egos.
  6. I suspect the majority of posters decrying any need for a memorial at the game are the same ones who pass off LM's achievements as inconsequential.
  7. Alpine is like the Nigerian spammer who knabs a return email. Once your hooked he keeps coming back. Only the Nigerian wants your cash but Alpine wants your attention and he's got you hook, line and sinker.
  8. Doing a lot of good isn't it?
  9. Two or three players on the bus with real credibility in the Prem are needed IMHO. Whether they are out there and ready to drop for the rest of the season I don't know. One or two from the NPC or below that are ready to prove a point but most of all we need proven quality from up above.
  10. Have you just switched off Merrington? It was a good feed this end, thanks for that.
  11. A Melbourne Saint unusually puts his Saintsplayer feed up on justin.tv . Not this morning it seems
  12. I must still be blinded by that Villa goal, can't say I've seen much more of the fella but the general disgust at the post does beg the questions, what the hell does SAF see in him and why aren't certain posters on this thread, Premiership managers?
  13. HCDAJFU couldn't see it and never read it, my bad
  14. So we haven't got a team of 'Ale House Brawlers' then? That's a shame
  15. Why not? Drop into the NPC might be an issue for him but it could be the toughening up he needs to break into SAF's first team
  16. I'll take that
  17. Is it just us Brits that amend our use of our language to help foreigners understand?
  18. http://tinyurl.com/7tdygbr Like and share to help make it happen. Cheers #LASTLETTERFROMLONDON on Twitter Hello I'm a Sotonian by birth and proud of it. Circumstances have taken down under, namely marrying an Aussie wife. I did a days shoot on a short film I wrote about Vincent Van Gogh before it was confirmed I was heading south. Well I'm back next year and want to complete the shoot and am looking first of all to garner support through social media for the project before I attack the funding area of the production which I will in all probability be looking at going down the http://www.indiegogo.com/ crowd funding route. We'll see how that part works out. In the meantime, there's a wonderful background story to VVG in his youth whilst living in Brixton, London (where I was living quite happily before being shackled and sent south), that adds a wonderful backdrop to the story. Please like and share the links above and we're going to give it our best to make things happen in the Spring/Summer of 2012. Cheers theyin

  20. Melbourne Saints shall be meeting at the Imperial on Bourke Street at 11pm http://www.bourkestreetimperial.com/ to watch the Pompey game this Sunday night. Our mission, to drown out the Scousers watching the game against Villa in the room next door. COYR
  21. If you are one of those shouting go back to where you come from, you really need your heads seeing to you cretinous little scumbags. Thank you all for your help. Here's the lad's appraisal if you're interested.... [/img] David is currently out injured until January so I won't be able to film him until then. His Dad wants me to take him to Cobham but I am not having anything to do with that. Told him if I'm having any part to play, it's to Marchwood he goes.

Dear all I wonder if anyone might be able to lend a hand. I moved to Melbourne late last year with my Aussie wife. Amongst the cousins trying to get me into AFL (ridiculous game IMO) and being totally underwhelmed by the A-League (Kewell's arrival was like the tickertape parade for Apollo 11), she has a 14 year old cousin who is quite an exceptional footballer. He has recently returned from a month long stint in at a soccer school in Argentina http://www.cefar.com.ar/en_index.php , where he returned with the finest report (attached) from amongst a group on average two years older than him. I will be returning to the UK next summer and he is keen to come along and I wondered if anyone might know a contact at SMS/Marchwood where I might be able to send the report and dvd of him on the field. He's that good and really wants to attend some sort of training school in England whilst he's there. He is a lovely lad and from the little I've seen a tasty player with skills and knowledge of the game way beyond his years. I seriously wouldn't post this if I didn't think he was a decent prospect. Umm....... how do I upload a jpeg?
