First away from the Dell was the ZDS Cup Final with my Dad...The first I went to of my own accord was with a Norwich supporting mate to Nottarf Krap...1-1, Darren Eadie brought down in the 96th minute and Fleck scored the resulting penalty. Our car got bottled on the way out!! First away supporting the Saints was Sheffield Wednesday...In 2005/6 I think. We won 1-0 courtesy of Kenwyne Jones!
  2. It could all have been so different if the team had been built around Rudi - I always thought he would have been superb in a free role behind the strikers. He was our best player and should have been treated as such. Team talk should have been "Get the ball, give it to Rudi. Watch him wrong-foot defenders by cutting left rather than right, and be ready for a killer pass or stinging left-foot shot." Total waste at left back. Would Matt be where he is now if Branfoot and co had forced him to play cover at right back?

  5. Golly sometimes I love being a Saints supporter. My techophobe father was 2-3 minutes ahead of the tv feed, listening to radio Solent. He sent me a text just as I watched our first. It read "enjoy, son"

  7. Antonio was truly awful (like worse than Ali Dia awful!) against Torquay - that's the only time I've seen him live though. Hope he's not another mediocre player just playing for a contract...although we rarely get caught out by those....right?
  8. That's pretty damning coming from the ONLY fans in National League Rugby that had to be segregated!! To stop them randomly fighting, swearing and spitting on other supporter's kids!!! Was a Doncaster Dragons fan 2004-2006 and HKR plsayers and fans were singlehandedly trying to ruin the sport!!!
  9. Great to be a Saint at the moment, eh? I was at Huddersfield away and after that display I thought I'd be able to buy tickets for any game I wanted! Come on you Reds! Going for 6 in 6 for the first time in....?!
  10. Why doesn't Bloomfield Road get a mention?! It was alright for £17 two years ago but last year it was £26 to sit on the temporary seats! Like non-league!

  13. Doesn't make any difference to me - can't wait to get the book (put off buying it myself as I have a birthday soon!) and the man will always be a hero to me. As a lad he always made watching the Saints worthwhile. You never knew when he'd do something the other 21 players just couldn't and even if we lost I went away talking about THAT pass, THAT shot. I re-watched my "Taking Le Tiss" DVD last night and I recommend anyone who has anything less than total respect for him as a Saints legend do the same.
  14. I thought Hammond was excellent today. Ran the midfield in the first half. Faded in the second but so did our whole team. Excellent signing at a real bargain price.
  15. Corners have been crap since the prem days - Safri couldn't get it over the first man either. Agreed Lallana takes a very poor corner, but that said, what threat would he be in the box? He's got some tricks but he'll never be a physical presence.

  17. We're not going to lose. Taking my sister to St Mary's this weekend and she has never seen us lose live! Really odd as she's been going to 5-6 games a season for 10 years! The only home game she managed to get to last year was Norwich! My last win was back in January away to Barnsley. Been to a few stinkers since then! Going for 2-1 to us. COYR!

  23. (From the match) Nope - those 2 tried at least. Rasiak had a COUPLE of bright moments...but was largely useless as we couldn't get the ball to him. He never used to work to get the ball so why are we expecting that now? Lambert looked good - in fact he was a league apart from everyone else out there. Kelvin once again had a great match and couldn't have done any more than he did. 5*. Apart from those 4, hang your heads in shame. Harding and Murty were average but didn't try anything but "hoof it out of play" Perry & Thomas were second to everything this afternoon which meant it turned into a Huddersfield shooting gallery - they had 6 corners in the first 25 minutes!!! Wotton was a passenger. He might as well have come off, no-one would have noticed. Schnederlin was bullied off the ball too easily. That said, he's the only one that even attempted to play the ball along the gound. Didn't create anything tho. Lloyd James and Lallana as wingers? Don't make me laugh. Both are obviously central players and as such neither had a useful touch of the ball and it was all too easy for Huddersfield's backs to support their attacks and get crosses in. This only stopped (down 1 side at least) when Thomson came on. Lallana is NOTHING like the player he was at the end of the 2007/8 season. Lambert tried hard and was rewarded with a goal. Well done sir. You will get tired if you do all the running though! However after 80 minutes it was only him & the subs that had any running in them! So much for AP's fitness regime... Rasiak....looks like he would be good if he was bothered and got any sort of service. Lancashire...well...mystery why he was brought on but no major ****-ups! Alan Pardew...got to say that I wasn't impressed. We were clearly in trouble from the 2nd minute. Nothing was changed. And why bring Perry off for Lancashire? He's hardly going to help us chase the game is he? Saga was on the bench. Oh well...fingers crossed we learn (and/or spend) quickly. How far do we have to drop to be the best team on the pitch most weeks?
  24. (From the match) We are very poor. Kelvin has been the difference twice. We don't seem capable of stringing 2 passes together. Zero build-up play. Just cheered a Saints throw-in...says it all!
