  1. Yes same here. Been at work and stayed up to watch it despite being completely knackered...only to miss the one match I really gave a chuff about! Still, I had £25 on us to win so not a total loss I s'pose. Will do battle with iplayer sometime tomorrow.
  2. I was at Prenton Park today. Lallana didn't do too much wrong just looked like he was lacking in confidence a bit...and his uncertainty got exploited - when he was pressed he misplaced his passes. That said he did some good things too today. Swapping him for Antonio was a good call as Adam was out of ideas. Barnard for Waigo was a bit odd...if we were going to score again I'd have bet the mortgage money on LB to do it. He looks so confident now and he's got so much ability on & off the ball. Oh well... The thing I really have to get across is the appalling refereeing today. I have come home from games like everyone muttering "1-0 to the ref" and "not fit to referee" but this chap today I am sorry but he was cheating. Either he had taken a bribe or he was a Tranmere supporter/Saints hater. There is no other explanation for a baffling series of free kicks in the 2nd half, the penalty and the several denied Saints penalties. I know AP would get in trouble for saying it but he bloody well should. Anyway it's going here in black & white THE REFEREE TODAY WAS DISHONEST AND IS A DISGRACE TO FOOTBALL. If the match had been on TV he would have lost his job no question. The most frustrating thing for me today was that Tranmere were 2nd best by some margin. They never looked dangerous, never looked like they could contain us and they never did. We ran riot, we looked like champions, however we were stopped at every turn by the ridiculous decisions of the crooked referee. Make no mistake - the pitch was poor but we beat the pitch today, we beat the 11 men in front of us, but we lost to the referee. Not too much doom & gloom please - at least not directed at the team!

    Strikers

I guess with Connolly's injury problems he will have to be content with a super sub role but he really is a class act. It's almost a shame Barnard is doing so well! What a strike force we have now!
  4. I work with a fella who lives on the Wirral. It's a residential area and resident's only parking for about 1/2 a mile around the ground. Outside the half mile he says you should be alright though - just make sure you leave plenty of time to find a place...and don't block me in
  5. Are we going to start the whole ticket swap/offer madness thing?! In a state of panic my Dad got his 2 for being a ST holder and then another 1 for going to the Area Final at SMS...me & my missus and my Dad all want to go but he's bought the tickets and I feel bad about him being the one on his own (with the worse seat too)...but not bad enough to stick my missus on her own - she'd kill me! What are my chances of getting 3 tickets together by any means...? Was originally going to wait til the 15th but the craziness set in and the prospect of not going at all was too much to bear! Thoughts?
  6. What a result!! Shame Brizzle have won too. 4 point gap now. Oh well, if we stuff 5 past everyone I reckon we may just do it anyway!! Damn you Saints - whenever I stop hoping you just wedge the door open again!!
  7. What about the ZDS Cup in 1994? I went but my memory is playing tricks on me...we played Forest so presumably one of us wore a changed strip?
  8. Any idea when we'll get tickets for this yet?

    Trouble?

Pitch invasion? He was right up in the hospitality section in the Itchen - quite near me. Funny as f**k ...and they were £20's!!
  10. Train for Southampton departs in 2 hours and 7 minutes! Can't wait!! COYR!!!
  11. Can Poopey be given a 10 point deuction in the CCC if the "offences" happened whilst in the Premier League? Aren't they 2 separate organisations with different rules? I'm not fussed 1 way or the other about them folding - as they were the same about us and there'll be some ropey AFC Poopey type club to hate in a few years' time. I just really really want the match to go ahead on Saturday (not least coz I've got a hospitality ticket and paid the non-refundable train ticket price!) and no "last minute scrappy goal" (why would you want that Thorpe-Le-Saint?) but a proper 4-0 or similar win where we run the game and play decent passing football for the cameras. Too much to ask?
  12. Voted! Now when can we have him back? Would be nice to see him this weekend!!
  13. Good old Dad - tickets in the Channon suite! Comfy seat and a good view of the "boxing" afterwards out the window maybe, whilst sipping on a complimentary beer of course!
  14. As disappointing as throwing away a 1-0 lead in the JPT would be, I would take that and more to dump the blue few out. There's a must-win, cup final game if ever there was!
  15. Love that one, Big John!! I lol'd.
  16. I quite like it when they let Lambert have a go at the free kicks
  17. He's here to translate for fellow scouser Lambert - obviously mates already as Lambo's given Jon his training top for the pik on the OS!
  18. Lol @ all the abuse!! I suggest anyone that can't see Bobby's tongue firmly in his cheek needs to go to bed and have another look over a cuppa in the morning!! +1 from me!
  19. I stuck £37.50 on us to get promoted and £2.50 to be promoted as champions. Had £40 burning a hole in my pocket before the start of the season! Can't remember what odds I got...something like 8/1 for the promotion and 25/1 for champions I think.
  20. What a goal from Lambert! That was worth the trip down on it's own. Huddersfield away in the rain is a dim and distant memory now! Feel like we can beat anyone!
  21. That's me old man sorted! There's a lot less choice than I expected!! Reckon he'll be chuffed as anything. Can't wait to give him the letter!
  22. That would be a handy & fair way - hope you're right. I'll give the ticket office a ring tomorrow. Fixed prices of £175 on the link in the OP.
  23. What period is covered by the half season ticket?? Was thinking of getting one for my Dad for Xmas, you see...sorry if it's a stupid/obvious question but I always just pay for he matches I can get to so I've never looked into this before. Cheers
  24. Love this! And what with the Spurs result equalling Man U's record of 9 goals in a PL match, Utd now have something to aim for...come on Utd, no mercy! Go for the 10-0!
  25. Bart gets the nod from me - he has shown he can do the job and let's all just get behind him and let him do it. I say this as someone who was at the Rotherham cup game!...but also saw him before the knee injury he sustained in the Newcastle game. Come on, lad, you'll never get a better chance at Saints - please take it!
