Ricky was good yesterday as the only Saint who was up for a bit of physical *****il Barnard came on, far too late). Looks more like his old self every week. Just a shame he came off worse going for a header in the box as I thought he was going to produce something, if anyone.

I was there *sigh* as I was last season. Individually we had the better players, except Puncheon who had a shocker and should have gone off half time, also Fonte looked all at sea against the over-physical Terriers forwards. I think the problem was that they were MUCH better organised. I actually counted to see if we'd come out with 10 men or they had 12! They beat us to everything in the first half. Very disappointing after hearing my Dad enthuse about our performance against Tranmere.

Hi, I got "no prediction" for the Swindon match but I predicted 0-0 - I am currently 2nd so the point would be nice!! I have several others down as 0-0 but the little "saved" has not appeared above that score. Will those also count as "no prediction"??

Just for wearing to the loo?? Posh! I can't make up my mind on it. Looks a bit cheap & naff like any old polo shirt in some of the piks. Looks better in the piks of it being worn though. I do like the contrast of the black socks. Will get one anyway but my favourite kit was the flybe one with the black trim (no sticker) and this hasn't changed my mind...yet...guess I will have to reserve judgement til I see it in the flesh.

It's a shame Connolly had an injury flare-up when he did - remember how well he was playing up front with Lambert before that? If he'd have had a full season I doubt we'd have bought Barnard and I'm sure he'd be challenging Rickie's tally. Fingers crossed he's fit for the next campaign. Lambert, Barnard, Waigo & Connolly - say it out loud and grown centre-halfs soil themselves!
-
Just had word that ML has been moved by your plea and has sent Lancashire, Pulis, Wotton & Forecast to help. Well done GM!
-
I'd like to see Connolly start. If the running's too much we always have Barnard on the bench. Connolly is too good for the last 5 minutes of every other game!!
-
I've just done it too and got the same - Charlton do seem to have the toughest run-in and (according to a Charlton supporter I know) playing some shocking football at the moment - so it's all eyes on us to win these last 4

"Portsmouth and their fantastic fans" ooh I feel sick. ...even more so recalling the crowd shot after the goal. All those 20-stone bald half-naked inbreed with their moobs flapping. Eugh. They'll have to hose half the stadium down.
-
Here's where we have to start saying "IF they do it, I'll " (insert humiliating and/or expensive activity). To get the ball rolling, IF they do it I'll buy my Dad's season ticket for him for next year, and come into work (a bank) wearing the full away kit, including tie-ups and pink boots.

Just did the predictor thing for the first time this season...I have us in 7th with 'honest' results, 3 points behind Huddersfield. We just can't catch them unless they lose motivation for some reason and slip up against a "weaker" team. That said - it's not impossible - look at Cardiff last season...just let it slip away with a whimper on the last day against a Wednesday team playing for "nothing". Also I lost out on a 15 accumulator (would have returned £900 from a £3 bet) when Huddersfield lost to Gillingham a few weeks back, so it CAN happen.

An expensive divorce (still being paid for), living in the glorious hole that is Barnsley, having to work most weekends, current Mrs OfnPanad lives in Bangor (North Wales)...all in all it's a miracle I've been to any games! Huddersfield (a), Torquay (h), Walsall (a), Tranmere (h), Poopey (h), Tranmere (a), Carlisle (JPT) Not too bad I feel! Also recruoted Mrs OP and 2 of her sprogs to the cause

Saints 4-1 Carlisle - 2010 JPT Champions - Reaction
OfnPanad replied to Block 5's topic in Golden Posts
Saints winning a Wembley cup final, scoring 4 goals. Am I dreaming?? Yes it may have been 'just' Carlisle but we've fought hard to get there (as did they) and I still can't quite believe those piks of KD lifting the cup - I'm just so proud to be a Saints fan and so glad I was there. -
Right I'm turning in. I suggest you all do the same so you're fresh for the drive/train & pre & post match activities! Put your bedside clock forward an hour first tho!! See you there tomorrow. I'll be the one wearing red & white stripes so say hello if you spot me. COYR!!!
-
Got the missus wearing a Saints shirt (outdoors....) for the first time ever!!! The retro '75 one. I'll be there in last season's home shirt - can't stand the sticker on the new ones. Got my Dad a shirt for his birthday though with the JPT writing on it. So that's 3 of us at least that will be in red & white.

My Great Uncle George Judd. He'd have been laughing about it only being the JPT but he'd have had a tear in his eye when Davis lifts it on Sunday. He was Southampton though-and-though. Sadly he passed away on 11 May 2009 when we were on a bit of a low(e) ebb. I hope he's watching our revival somewhere, and that that place has a subscription to Sky Sports 2! Miss you, Uncle George. Thanks to the OP for staring this thread.

Yeah but don't forget the -10 and just have yourself a compare of the goal differences!! COYR! 2-0, 1 each for Lambert and Connolly...thank God he's fit!!

There's one proudly on display in the back of my Honda Civic parked up in Barnsley -
The man in charge of Saints' electrifying resistence today, "Mr Positive" Kelvin Davis is nPower's man of the match... Speaking after the match, Davis said the opposition forwards were too static to impede Saints on current form. In other news, nPower do gas as well so first person who comes up with a gas pun gets to meter player of their choice... Oooh I feel dirty now.
-
Awww...I agree with pretty much everything else but this and the "You fat b*stard" shout at the opposition 'keeper are a bit of a laugh - yes it's a cheap laugh but it does raise a smile from my missus and 15 yr old daughter every time! I also admit I found it funny when Torquay sang it to us in the JPT match

So pleased Connolly is back - hopefully he'll stay fit and do the business as a super sub. Total class. I do agree it's odd Barnard keeps coming off nomatter what. If we need a goal I'd rather he sacrificed Lallana to bring on Waigo but to get Connolly on he's obviously going to have to take off Barnard or Lambert, or the 3 would get in each other's way. Difficult to take either RL or LB off considering the way they are playing so it'll just be a matter of who looks tired come 60-70 mins.

So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?
OfnPanad replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Was an agonising wait but Dad's finally home from work and all 3 were on his mat. Looks like we're off to Wembley!! Managed to get into the DeVere Venue near Gerrard's Cross for £49 the night before...got to be happy with that! Pool, sauna and only 20 mins on the train to Wembley. Get in! -
This week's ref, last week's ref...a gun with only one bullet...decisions, decisions!!!

he's right...
