Articulate, more so than most if the first language English speakers! Met him at corporate dos a couple of times. Send a really genuinely nice guy. He has the ability I think, just knocked his confidence with the mistakes early on in 2012/13 season. Maybe under Koeman he'll get his consistency back? If he was the player we lived in the championship again it'd be "Lovren who?"...

Can Saints do for England what Barcelona has done for Spain?
OfnPanad replied to Bermuda Saint's topic in The Saints
Whilst I really like the sound if this, even if we did collect all the talent and they were all in from at the same time, picking the whole squad from one club would surely be blocked by the FA...they need those Man U fans to buy tickets to England games... -
Good shout. Definitely has the potential.

Davis my motm. Now we are a more settled side he just gets better every match. A real bargain signing amongst our more 'stellar' ones. Boruc a close second - maybe I am just expecting the awesome saves these days?!

Are there any current Premiership players he thinks are as 'good' (or potentially good) as he was?

Your favourite Saints players that weren't popular?
OfnPanad replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Tommy Widdrington! Under-used I think and got a reputation as a utility man so was never allowed to settle into a position. Got to love him for scoring against Leeds...albeit from laying down, with his face and him not knowing much about it. I would have got his name on my shirt but I wasn't rich enough so I went with Mr Benali. Great days. -
Rupert Lowe - underhand dealings from beyond the realms of football
OfnPanad replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
F**k me that's cold! Who asks for a stalker?!! I can understand wanting no part of it but its harsh to say she brought it! The legal fees will be covered by the losing party so if he is sure they can prove they are in the right, then it's worth the outlay. She probably qualifies for legal aid too. It's the kind of thing that you want to believe about Rupert and have no trouble doing so! The court will make its decision but it sounds quite dodgy to be waiting months and be given a vague answer. Any money docked from the deposit either has to be agreed before it is spent and/or properly receipted. -
Good on you JBS. There are some really odd replies on here. Why would you expect (and so accept) **** food when it's pretty easy to increase quality and charge a little less, make things easier to buy, sell more and make more money? Everybody wins. SFC is a multi-million £ business. There are some smart people working for the club, so why has nobody done anything with this? Laziness? OK I accept food sales are a drop in the ocean, but happy fans spending money are a good thing. This and the ridiculous parking charge mentioned earlier are two examples of backward thinking and JBS should be thanked for bringing it up and encouraged to take it up with the club for the benefit of all fans. JBS, stick a paragraph on the end just to mention that the 15 minute parking fee is utter stupidity. I used to spend 20-30 minutes in the shop when I felt like spending out, trying some stuff on and buying about half of it. Now I rush in, grab the one thing I wanted and rush out, so SFC don't make their £1 from parking or the £30-£50 of additional sales. Almost everyone I speak to says the same, so it's a really obvious bollock dropped there and so easy to fix.

Thanks for the service, Danny. Always looked like a classy player whenever I saw you play. Not everyone can be given the opportunity to step up to the Premiership, which for purely sentimental reasons is a shame, but you will be comfortably one of L1's best players and you are good enough to get football every week. All the best.

Shocking as it is, I have little choice! I took the deal that expired today, so I guess a few others will be in the same boat as me. Are there any sign up deals at the moment that anyone knows of? If not I will wait a few weeks I guess as last time they cut the subscription price almost in half because I didn't immediately renew. If I get such a carrot I will share the link here.

Fantasy Premier Leagues are open for registration
OfnPanad replied to NY Saint's topic in The Saints
I'm in - the FA one. AFC Redknapp's Dog...every time I refresh the page I have another £100m to spend...but I can only buy players over 35??! -
After some time to adjust to the shock...it hasn't grown on me. Home kit just looks like jammies. Away kit looks like it needs a tie. Poop.

Adam Lallana - has he flattered to deceive?
OfnPanad replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
If you can bear the 'my first attempt at video effects' styling and odd music choice you have good examples of both Lallana's finishes here. The curl around the keeper into the bottom far corner and the horrid scuff shot that barely crosses the line. What frustrates me is that he's stopped trying either and now looks to pass the ball to Lambert, Puncheon or JRod 100% of the time. He will never get any further than he has now unless he adds goals to his game. Just do your dragback to get yourself a yard and then effing smash it, Adam! -
Ramirez, his first season, how good has he been?
OfnPanad replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
Saw him against Villa at SMS and thought he was the second coming. Saw him against Tahiti for Uruguay and wondered if he has a twin who's a postman? Hot and cold - and obviously needs to be fitter. I'm not fussed either way really so I'll be happy with whatever decision the people who see him in training make. -
Don't know why everyone is knocking Lee? Especially those who've said Chaplow and Forte are good signings because they cost us next to nothing and made a vital contribution. Lee was free, gave us the beginnings of an Eastern following and also superbly set up Lambert's winner vs Leeds...

Every other bl00dy post on a Saints article on the BBC Sport website starts with that phrase. Makes my blood boil. Look at the Wanayama stuff...sigh..actually don't look, you'll live longer. Who'd have thought one Pompey fan could register so many different accounts?!

Am I the only one that thinks it's a bit crap that one of our ex-players who helped win our only major trophy has to consider selling his medal for a sum that we pay our bench players in what? 3 weeks?

A design that anyone will look at and immediately think "Southampton FC" - created in less than 3 minutes with the standard Adidas templates. I would have happily bought this shirt for £50 without trawling through the Adidas catalogue to look for it cheaper - and I am sure I am not the only one.

I'll be buying the plain one for £13. What a rip off. Some decisions are right, some are subjective, this is wrong. Fact.

Great answers guys (well, on Page 1 anyway!) I had trouble getting the post written so no wonder lots of contrasting views come out - even over what "getting it" actually is. For me, the answer I most identify with is as I meant it is the not having a choice. I was born in Southampton and my father played for us. I never wobbled from Saints for a second at any stage, even though we seemed to lose every week. Oh, and I consider Hartlepool (0-0 on a foggy Tuesday, not home til gone 3am) and Oldham (6-0 - boom what a match) away and the JPT as very good times, although it's nice to be back where we belong. I think I get it - or I'm a lot closer than most guys I know - but I guess there is no right answer here. Cheers for contributing everyone.

It's not a new idea that football is a different experience depending on the club you support, but the older I get the more I notice the differences between my attitude and reaction to winning, transfers and even club politics, compared to other clubs' supporters. It just seems to mean more to me. So I started to wonder who 'gets' it? I mean - which club's supporters, in general, get the richest experience that football can give? Is it the Man U (formerly Liverpool) crowd? Traditionally "glory hunter" supporters that win most weeks? Is it the Wigan, Fulham or Yeovil fan that saw their club come from the bottom? Perhaps it's the Luton fan who sticks with them all the way down? Or is it us? I think we have a good case. In the Premiership years no other league team lost more games than us. Eventually we succumbed and had some more **** times. Then the turnaround...JPT, winning every week...no-one can argue that we have had some extremes in recent years. Does this mean we get more from football than most fans or just more grey hair? What do you think? Which club's fans (generally speaking) get the most out of football and why?
