  1. I supported this club for 40 years too, but I cannot bring myself to support something which has been so badly run and which has brought such ruin on itself. I want to support a Southampton football club but I have totally lost patience with the current one, as I suspect have many others.
  2. Hardly surprising really - that's what you get for appalling mismanagement and a very poor product. But rather than donating money to try to prop up a club that's rotten to the core and in terminal decline, I honestly think that the best thing would be to let it go under and start a new club like the good people of Aldershot and Accrington did. Sure it would have to start from the non-league, but provided the City Council are prepared to buy the stadium and allow it to still be used for football, the sheer weight of local support and the income that generates should ensure that a new club will soon be rocketing up through the leagues rather than plummeting down them like the old one. So do the decent thing and put SFC out of its misery so that we can all start with a clean sheet and finally have something to look forward to.
  3. No tippy-tappy passing football please. It's rubbish, and all the other teams laugh at it.
  4. Hate to say it, but has Rupert accidentally stumbled on a decent manager here? Since Wotte's been in control he's slagged off the fans, kicked the team up the a*se, strutted around like an arrogant swine and won three games in a row. Early days yet, but it seems to me he could be the real deal.
  5. These are the things that did it for me: 1. Sacking Pearson. The man performed miracles in keeping us up last year with a lazy and unmotivated team. 2. Sending our best forwards out on loan when we couldn't hit a barn door in front of goal. 3. Scrapping the free bus travel to the ground. Dreadful customer relations irrespective of the financial situation. 4. Poor style of football. Fancy passing with no goal threat does not constitute entertainment in my book. After holding a season ticket for many years, I only go to away games now because I won't put a cent of my money directly into the pockets of the current board. And if the club goes out of business it will be entirely their fault for trying to sell us a poor product for far too high a price. It's probably time we started a new club like Aldershot or AFC Wimbledon did anyway.
  6. It's passing football under successive managers that has got us into this mess; surely time to try something different? The best thing about hoofball is that the ball gets pumped into the opponents' penalty area as often as possible without all that ridiculous square buildup play that we seem to specialise in. Therefore it's more exciting, more efficient and more likely to produce a goal. Why use 20 passes when one will do? I rest my case.
  7. Route 1 Hoofball in now, please. Total football is totally useless.
