  1. Loving the positivity on here atm 😂 If we're in the playoffs, unless Leeds are also in there, we will be heavy favourites. We're on a blip ATM without a doubt, but come the end of the season I expect our class to shine through again. We didn't go 25 games undefeated for nothing!
  2. People were saying the same about Edioze not so long ago and he's turned it around. Sulemana has loads of potential but hasn't had a solid run in the first team, mainly this season due to injury. However he was by far our most dangerous looking player at the start of the season before he got injured. People are far too quick to write players off. There's a potentially brilliant player in Sulemana
  3. Even worse is how he is utterly incapable of counting to three at the correct speed...
  4. Leicester are perennial chokers?? The team that have won the Premier League and the FA Cup in the last ten years? That have also won the Championship and going back 30 years also won the league cup twice? That Leicester?
  5. We had a similar thread when Ipswich played Leicester, and there was a lot of conflicting views as to what result was best for Saints. I think a lot of people will see Leeds as being more dangerous to our promotion aspirations than Ipswich, plus we have looked shaky in a few games in the last couple of weeks, so wondered if there will be a different consensus this time? For me it's the same as last time - I want us to worry about catching Leicester only if & when we have pulled away from third place. Therefore I want a Leicester win
  6. Of course there are, must likely his agent. I get people want to work for the biggest clubs but it'd be doubly disappointing if after losing Shields so quickly the same happens with Wilcox. You'd hope they'd be prepared to stay for a couple of years at least. We can hold a player to that, but sadly not the staff.
  7. Shout out to Edozie in particular here. At the start of the season he was singled out for having no end product. Just goes to show what confidence will do for a footballer!
  8. Personally really disappointed that after a classic Super Bowl all the main photos and headlines refer to Taylor Swift... Including in more reputable news agencies like the BBC. What a fcuking mess that a celebrity can overshadow such a popular sports showpiece event
  9. Fair play to him, and indeed anyone, who undertakes fostering. He spoke about it several months back in the echo as well https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/23813804.saints-announce-partnership-city-council-fostering-southampton/
  10. Highlights are available here (worth watching just for the kid in the crowds reaction when Hudds go 2-0 up!) WHilst Baz should have done better for the first goal, it does bounce right in front of his hand and goes past quickly. The replays, particularly from behind the goal, show this
  11. He got an assist in a 3-0 win, which leaves Leverkusen 5 points clear. Long way to go but looking good! Bizarrely Bayern's GK went up for a corner in the last minute of stoppage time, despite them being 2-0 down so even if he scored it's unlikely to affect anything... As it was Leverkusen went straight up the other end and put the ball in the unguarded net
  12. Starting today in the top of the table clash against Munich - Currently 1-0 up. C'mon Tella!
  13. I think thoughts of THB going straight to a top team are a little premature. Fantastic as he has been he is still completely untested at PL level, which is a huge step up from The Championship. If we go up he'll, I'm sure, be delighted to join permanently as a first choice CB in a PL team. Of course if he steps up as we believe he can he won't stay long, but by that time he'll be worth mega money and I will fully enjoy watching Saints piss it up the wall again ala VVD. Or City will have a buy back clause worth buttons.
  14. Chamberlain was the opposite. If he played more than 10mins a game Arsenal had to pay extra. He therefore was always brought on in the 81st minute, but for some reason no-one at the Arse considered injury time and they therefore had to pay us £1.2m more than they thought 😂
  15. I love that table! Joint most points, with a game in hand, best defensive record (less than a goal every two games), 2nd best offensive record, best goal difference. Really shows how far we've come this season
  16. £40m would have been. £17m not so much. Chelsea took a huge chunk of the cash, and for the talent he showed I would have kept him I dunno, kwp & tino up the right flank would have been worth a try. Or kwp at left back. We'll never know sadly
  17. Think it's fairly clear we needed the money. Both him and JWP had their prices reduced hugely in order to facilitate a sale
  18. Another opportunity for your opinion to be ridiculed by your peers and other people with nothing better to do. It's been the quietest window in many years, so maybe the value is who has stayed rather than joined/left. Do you dare put a number between 1 & 10 as to how Saints fared? In Joe Rothwell (loan, Bournemouth) David Brooks (loan, Bournemouth) Out Jack Bycroft (undisclosed, Swindon Town) Kamari Doyle (undisclosed, Brighton & Hove Albion) Ryan Finnigan (undisclosed, Blackpool) Carlos Alcaraz (loan, Juventus) Mason Holgate (end of loan, Everton) Thierry Small (released)
  19. I do as well, but if we are promoted this season he would have benefited massively from getting used to our style of play in the championship. It would have helped him hit the ground running in the prem ala Lambert or Toney. Of course, we may not get promoted.... Alcaraz will be back in the summer. As others have said, no chance Juve meet the option price
  20. Did anyone ask him about this thread???
  21. TBF it isn't a comment that aged well... (Like a lot of my comments TBF ha!)
  22. There are already numerous threads on this board about the stupid things MLT has said... and this thread wasn't made in relation to any of them.
  23. Regardless what you think of his views, it is a bit of a shame a post about from a local business advertising an opportunity to put your view to him in person has descended into sarcasm and the usual squabbling... Good luck with the event op.
  24. What a win today! Don't think anyone saw this result happening after days 1 & 2. Phenomenal performance firstly from Pope and then from Hartley on debut to get us the win. This England team is great to watch - not always for the best reasons, but always entertaining
