Ronnie Ekelund incoming!
-
I took that to mean Hojberg & Reed, but you may be right that he’s referring to targets we’ve missed out on
-
He was much better than KWP currently is, but agree his best days appear to be long behind him. Hopefully KWP can scale similar heights
-
I thought Delph as well. A solid proven prem player Who’s versatile as well. Given he’s been at city then Everton though I wonder whether wages would be an issue
-
Like I say you have an agenda on this so I'm not going to argue it with you. But re the bit I lost you on, a little research by you would reveal exactly what I meant https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-49469337

Do we not already have a replacement for Boufal in Djenepo? He did as much in his limited gametime last season as Boufal has done for us in years. If he stays fit I don't think we even need to replace Boufal, just spend the money on a better cm

Well someone has an agenda... I quite agree that the bbc should have known before everyone else that the pandemic was coming and therefore shouldn’t have given any pay increases, shouldn’t have replaced the outgoing radio 2 breakfast presenter with someone else on a lower wage thus saving money overall And definitely should not recognise Britain’s diversity. They should also continue to fund a government project designed to get votes and then abandoned by said government by dumping the liability onto the bbc without them having any say whatsoever /s Plenty to criticise the bbc for with today’s report but you’ve picked the wrong targets here

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m
Barsiem replied to The Odd Guy's topic in The Saints
You've already changed your point but re the £80m, I cannot find anything in the news about it so will have to take your word for it, but spurs borrowed £175m and are considerably bigger than us https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11675/12000522/coronavirus-tottenham-borrow-175m-to-cover-costs-incurred-due-to-pandemic Quite happy to keep questioning, but I've seen nothing to suggest he's been bad for saints (albeit he does have a questionable background) and really don't understand why he think he's so terrible. He doesn't engage with us, which I would like him to do as well, but given how we all hated it whenever Kruger opened his mouth maybe that's for the best. -

I don't think he's seduced anybody, and I also think it's ridiculous to say he's brought nothing. When we appointed hassenhuttl, I recall people close to him saying we had no chance of appointing him, yet somehow we convinced him to join us. Semmens as well has been a big improvement over Kruger. We're slowly getting rid of the deadwood and improving the squad, all under Gao's stewardship There is a real tendancy on here to attribute everything bad to an individual, and not give any credit for any good. Reed is regularly slated on here for carillo et all, but if someone mentions vvd or mane etc it always absolutely nothing to do with him. This kind of attitude frankly defies logic. No Saint is jumping for joy because Gao is in charge. Every saints fan would like an abramovic or Thai king to take us over, but that isn't what this guy mooted in the papers is. We have a sensible owner who isn't rinsing the club or jeopardising our future, and that'll do until we get a better alternative. We've seen what's happened when cowboys and chancers have been in charge of a football club with our friends down the road -

Who says Gao just wants out?? All I’ve seen is a bunch of smoke and those journalists closest to the club have denied he’s looking to sell. I find the attitude to Gao on here bewildering tbh... someone made a ridiculous statement that they’d rather have an American in charge, which is completely xenophobic, and people desperate for him to go. He has been quiet about his plans for the club, but the club is in a better place than when he took over and he deserves some credit for that. He certainly seems infinitely better than this guy who has already owned a football club and was hated by the fans there -
Not surprised JWP is starting. I think he’s got a great chance of establishing himself in the starting line-up, or at least the go to guy on the bench

Mods need to resume the Kindergarten thread, or better yet start a ‘Argue about semantics with MLG’ thread....
-
Hope he does really well, though not when he's playing Saints of course...

He needs to earn a contract somewhere, hopefully he’ll knuckle down for long enough for someone to buy him - after then he can go back to being a lazy f**ker

That’s my view as well. If we get owners who want to invest to take us further then great, otherwise Gao is ok and a seems a lot better than some of the other owners out there -

Based on what exactly?? All we’ve ever heard are rumours, most (if not all) of which are completely baseless Is Gao the greatest owner ever, no, but I don’t know what he’s done to deserve the level of mistrust he gets on here. Some crap signings yes, but some great ones too -
WP has the best shout I reckon. We're not that strong in centre mid and his workrate, versatility and setpieces bring something different. Plus we know Southgate rates him. Ings may well make it but will be hard pushed to stay in with the attacking options we have at the mo. Greenwoods emergence will only make it harder for him as well
-
I can see why you’d post this on an English football teams forum. Getting the info to the people who really need to know...
-
Given that the photos on Twitter and website clearly do show the sponsor, I'll say yes

I was the same as a kid. I was gutted when poopey lost the fa cup semi against Liverpool... That got drummed out of me at school!
-
He'd be mad to sign for anyone other than Fulham. He's a first teamer, highly regarded by the club and fans and fits their system well. They offer his best chance of establishing himself as a premier League player for the years to come
-
Maybe we’ll have a Bompey Takeover Saga thread soon then!
-
I think the opposite. To be frank most people on here will be judging a player on hype rather than actually seeing them play. If we were signing a player getting rave reviews for a top 6 championship we’d all be really excited. People go on about Kelvin Phillips on here, but here we have a player in the same division playing really well who’s already ours. I’ll trust RH on this if we do let him go, but I’d be happy to see him given a chance next season Another comparison would be Che, most were excited to be signing him despite him only having one good consistently good season at Championship level (and he dropped off a lot after January). Reed is doing the same at a better team.

Such a great away day that one! We all went mental from the other end when we equalised
