  1. I watched the game with QPR commentary on and their commentator thought the ref was absolutely biased towards Saints. It was actually quite funny how apolectic he got at times. Having said that, when Fraser had his one on one well saved by the keeper, the ref blew the whistle to bring play all the way back to the half way line for a Saints free kick. We'd clearly had the advantage he originally gave us so he shouldn't have done that

Calling Ballard an upgrade is ridiculous. He's barely played for the first team. We all hope he will be a great player but he isn't ready to be our main striker yet, hence why players like Mara are being put onto the pitch over him.
  3. It's surprising that a German team is prepared to pay so much for a player who hasn't performed in the PL. Assuming it's nudging £20m it'll be Leverkusen's third biggest transfer (figures on the below link are EUR) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bayer-04-leverkusen/transferrekorde/verein/15 Personnally think we should have kept him, but can't begrudge him the move. Hope it goes well for him
  4. Fcuking hell mate is that really the best you can come up with? Ah well, me and my man tits can't really be bothered to fling insults on the internet so I'll just wish you a pleasant day 😊
  5. Ah bless mate... I wasn't the one so triggered by the fact it had been reported in two different news stories that I had to complain to the internet about it.
  6. I found this quite surprising! We're having very high possession, but this illustrates we're not just passing around the back
  7. Some excellent news re England GK shirt - limited quantities but better than nothing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66607749
  8. This isn't Greenwood but were the allegations against Ronaldo widely known? I saw this for the 1st time today and apparently it was published years ago. I'm struggling to understand why it didn't get further media reporting as it seems damning https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/Serie-A/Ronaldo-admitted-rape-accuser-said-no-multiple-times-and-he-apologised-after-sex/894948
  9. They are quite right to keep "banging on" about it. Having the rights to produce England shirts is a prestigious contract, and no way should Nike be picking and choosing which shirts they reproduce for fans to buy. We have the no 1 rated keeper in the world and kids who idolise her cannot have a copy of her shirt. Your post reads more that you hate the BBC tbh. Nothing wrong with that, but this is an issue that should be highlighted
  10. Yes he absolutely should be denied a chance to continue his football career. Would you be saying the same if it was a teacher at your local school who had behaved like Greenwood and wanted to return to their teaching role? How about a politician or your GP? Footballers are in a privileged position whereby they earn a shitload of cash and are idolised by children. People who behave like Greenwood should lose that privilege and take up another career. The only mitigating factor for Greenwood is that he hasn't been convicted, but as has already been shown the reasons for that are more than a little suspect.
  11. Absolutely fcuking not
  12. Shame about the performance today, but Spain fully deserved it. We had a very kind run to the final & Spain were the only team of real note we had to play all tournament. If we had a fully fit team perhaps it would have been different, but a few teams could say that. If only the men's team had a defence of the equivalent quality of the women! We are so solid at the back and again only conceded a few goals all tournament. You can see why Earp's is considered the best GK in the world
  13. And our model sustained us for a few years before it all unravelled.... Not sure what your point is tbh. If in a couple of years they are even better than they are now then yes absolutely they've done better than we did, but currently they have not achieved anything above what we did, and I as I've already argued they haven't even matched our heights yet
  14. Don't agree re football style. Under Poch & Koeman (& even Ralph) we tore teams apart - including top teams in the league. The higher fees they've received are also somewhat mitigated by the fact that fees have gone up hugely since we sold VVD. Time will tell re Brighton, but fully expect them to falter in the next couple of years as their best players are sold and they struggle to replace. They will also lose their manager at some point and it's a matter of time when they get an appointment wrong. I'd love to be proved wrong and for a team to continually improve and climb higher, but it's a nigh on impossible task
  15. How so? We came 6th twice and got to a league cup final. They've come 6th once
  16. 100 for Prest today! Great stuff
  17. Brilliant news, albeit it means we are unlikely to see him in a Hampshire shirt much going forward
  18. He hasn't been at fault for any goals yet, so the stats are misleading at this point. He obviously did have a howler against Norwich which was fortunately disallowed, as well as a couple in preseason. I do think we need better, but seems that won't be happening
  19. I thought he was snapped up early on? I might be wrong on that. The BBC did an article about him recently calling him England's version of Glenn McGrath. Still not confirmed who he's declared for but fingers crossed he's leaning our way
  20. Disappointing to concede 4 goals, and to have generally defended so poorly, but also important to remember that we have a new system that the players will still be getting used to. The fact we scored 4 is a big positive. Once the midfield is more settled I expect we will control games better than we did today, which will help defensively. Hopefully we strengthen at both ends of the pitch in the coming weeks
  21. Not sure if this has been posted before, but there's a charity game to raise money for Nicholl at AFC Totton - it's on Sunday 20th August at 3pm and features ex-saints players (not sure who though). Also a justgiving page: https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/23714382.1k-raised-charity-match-southampton-fc-player/ https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/chrisnichollcharitymatch
  22. I loved the pennos in the France / Aussie match. Great drama! Here's hoping England find a bit of form today. If they can go up a couple of gears we have a real shot at winning
  23. I agree no chance he chooses Brighton over Chelsea, but I think most would agree objectively it'll be easier for him to establish himself at Brighton and therefore arguably better for his career at this stage. It'll all be acedemic as I seriously doubt Brighton would spend £50m on one player
  24. Brighton would arguably be the best move for him. Guaranteed starter and a team on the up. He'd probably sell for £100m himself in a couple of years
