England and penalties. Here we go again.

Indeed. England and Germany have proven that quite conclusively (in opposite ways). -

Let's suppose England and Germany meet in the knockout stage, and it goes to penalties. And suppose someone offers you £1 million if you correctly guess the outcome. Who would you choose? More generally, suppose team A and team B meet in the knockout stage, and it goes to penalties. Team A has been practising penalties for 2 years, team B hasn't practised at all. And suppose someone offers you £1 million if you correctly guess the outcome. Who would you choose, team A or team B? -
Oz eh? I bet you wouldn't want to cuddle one of these.

F**king unbelievable. Just when I thought England has a manager that could take us out of the dark ages, it turns out he is in the Bobby Robson (R.I.P.)-Glenn Hoddle-Sven-Göran Eriksson school of "why bother practising penalties?" That's right Capello, it's far too early to practise. There are a whopping 3 weeks before the tournament starts. Those idiot Germans have been practising since they were in their nappies. What good has it done them? Ok, they haven't lost a penalty shoot out since the time of the dinosaurs, and England have lost all but one in that time (the reason for getting knocked out of tournaments umpteen times).....but that's just bad luck, penalty shootouts are a lottery, right? http://tinyurl.com/2fd5r37 However, for someone as methodical as the England coach, it comes as a surprise to discover there have been no penalties practised. At this stage, he simply does not see the point. "It is too early to practise penalties," he reflected. "In any case, you could prepare for penalties and practise every day in training. But in a match it is different. "Shooting to win is not the same as shooting in training. "In training, the keeper is not very big. When you need to score to win, the keeper is really big and the goal is very small."

Salisbury City refused entry to BSP next season

To be fair, in a year or so they may have a chance in the JPT. Oh hang on, do they allow non-league clubs to compete in that competition? -
AA is Chainrai's lapdog. Chainrai possibly intends to be around long enough to siphon off as much of the parachute money as possible from the rotting P***** corpse. Hopefully you'll also be wrong but bloody close about them getting away with it. CHEATING BASTARDS
-
Tears of laughter I would guess. :smt042 But AA's cunning plan is to have them liquidated in the middle of next season, expecting the FL to be as spineless as the PL and not expel them there and then. Of course the CCC is not the high profile league like the EPL, so hopefully the FL will say sod it, middel of the season or not, if you liquidate you're gone, and all your results will be expunged. Oh how we'll laugh! CHEATING BASTARDS

I hope you're right. But, by not signing the CVA, HMRC could jeopardise the parachute monies. As it stands now, HMRC have inflated the original £18m owed to them to about double that, and also HMRC (along with the other unsecured creditors) will get an additional 20% over 4 years. So that works out at getting back, eventually, roughly 80% of the original £18m owed, plus they get to have P***** liquidated after 9 months and go after the crooks. So I am not optimistic that HMRC will oppose the CVA, or that the skates will be deducted any points if the CVA is indeed agreed. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the FL will hammer them regardless of a CVA being in place, either before the season starts, or 9 months from now when PFC change their name (to FCP, CBFC*, or whatever). *CHEATING BASTARDS' FOOTBALL CLUB

On the positive side, it will free up a spot for the skates. -
But isn't the Ice Cream Doctor one of the creditors, with a claim of £5 million? If he gets 20% of that fictitious* amount maybe he isn't as stupid as he looks. * allegedly This one's my favourite : Got a feeling it is no longer "Pompey till i die" but rather "Pompey till it dies". :smt042:smt042:smt042 There's also a big difference between offering a contract and honouring it if it's accepted. They could offer £20K per week, but after a month or two not pay up..... .... again. :smt042 I wonder if the players remember their late payments from their previous contracts? As the great philosopher G. W. Bush said "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — [pauses] - shame on you. Fool me — You can't get fooled again." I've marked my calendar.

Don't underestimate the sleaze that that cesspit of a club is capable of. For example, after administration hiring David Lampitt as their CEO, the former Football Association's head of football integrity. WTF was that all about? And AA meekly accepting HMRC's debt going up from about 18 million to 35 million? That means their share effectively goes up from 20% to 40% (of the original tax debt). And then we hear HMRC may well accept a CVA, as long as PFC is liquidated 9 months from now. 9 months, WTF?? The stench coming from AA and the rest of the corrupt club is worse than that of a rotten maggot-filled corpse of a skate left in the sun. Who knows what's going on behind closed doors? Spot on. Disgusting indeed. Maybe AA is desperately trying to sign up a squad, damned the cost, before the FL hits them with an embargo? CHEATING BASTARDS
-
Not if he uses this.
-
Has he signed yet?
-
You're right if the CVA isn't sorted out in time. But from what we hear it appears that it may well be. The timing of when all the other dirt comes out is also critical, methinks. If it comes out after they have started life in the CCC on zero points, the FL may indeed try to hit them belatedly with penalties, but the cheats (having established a foothold in the CCC) could take it to court, claiming that the FL don't have the right to punish them for crimes committed in the PL. They may or may not win. On the other hand, if all the crimes (that we here on SWF are aware of) become officially established before they get the golden share, then indeed the FL could deny them entry into the CCC unless they take a points penalty without appeal (similar to what happened to us). Blackmail I suspect. The creditors will be given the choice of 20p in the pound and accept the £10m salary budget per annum, or liquidation, no parachute monies, and 1 or 2p in the pound. CHEATING BASTARDS
-
But there's a difference. AA and the cheating bastards could argue that the FL cannot punish them for their actions, since they occurred in the PL.
-
But not all Hampshire fans come from Southampton. How about the poor skates? They've had a miserable season, so Hants (and possibly Chelsea) will only add to that misery. You have to feel sorry for them Not.
-
Don't let us down, lads.
-
I don't. They've had 7 or so years in the top flight, an FA Cup success, and possibly another one, all built on money that's either based on maiming people or outright stealing (borrowing with no intention of paying back). I feel sorry for the fans of Burnley, Norwich etc. which are clubs that live within their means and as a result could not compete in the PL. But there's a difference, unfortunately: Luton's crimes occurred while they were in the FL. P****y's occurred during their time in the PL. So the big question is, does the FL have jurisdiction over crimes committed in the PL? Too nice. I'd prefer this chant (repeated for 90 minutes): "CHEATING BASTARDS! CHEATING BASTARDS! CHEATING BASTARDS! CHEATING BASTARDS! CHEATING BASTARDS! CHEATING BASTARDS" Haven't you read any of my previous posts?
-
That would be excellent of course. But I'm a bit concerned Chelski may have shot their wad today. We all know what happened in 1974. TBH I would settle for Chelski scraping a lucky 1-0, or even a poor 0-0 a.e.t. with Chelski winning on penalties.

Without NC (and hence ML) Saints would certainly not have hired AP in the first place, and if by some miracle we were not in the Blue Square at this time, would very probably end this season relegated and heading into L2 next season. So whilst I think sacking AP would be a bad move, at the end of the day NC has every right to make that decision, even if it turns out to be a big mistake.

Maybe we should also sign their 1st and 2nd players of the season.

Saints v Southend,1st half & halt time chat..
Dark Munster replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
True. But it's unlikely going into administration 5 days earlier would have stopped Markus buying Saints. And possibly in an automatic promotion place: it could be argued that without the -10 around their necks, Saints would've picked up an additional 3 or more points over the season (especially the first 10 matches). -

Well, it's now official. Lowe's parting gift to saints fans has cost us a playoff place.
