  1. I would have preferred it in the 90th min. ManUre have a very scary bench.
  2. He [stevie-boy] said: ‘We need two or three permanent signings. ‘You cannot all of a sudden end up with six experienced pros again next summer and try to put together 14 pros again. It’s ridiculous. Well it depends, Steve. If the loan shark owner's goal is to keep the Cheats steady and build a good foundation for the future, then yes, it's ridiculous. But if his goal is to strip everything to the bare bones (now that the promotion gamble looks dead), and wait to trouser the remaining parachute payments until casting off the rotten corpse, then as Del boy would say, you know it makes sense.
  3. Meanwhile the Skates sign a deal with their car sponsors.
  4. Isn't it standard practice for a manager and players to say nice things about their opponents a few days before the match? They don't want to give the other manager something to post on the changing room bulletin board that will give their players an added incentive to play well.
  5. No Lallana = No Saints goals. Hernandez, Berbatov, Rooney, Owen You could be right.
  6. Oh yes, indeed. . Wasn't it the manager of QPR (a club with billionaire owners) who said that they couldn't compete with what the Cheats were offering to players? Hardly the strategy of a skint club content with merely avoiding relegation. Not looking good for the few.
  7. With Chinnys's promotion gamble all but ruined, and him now probably eyeing flogging everyone worth anything, it looks like a desperate attempt by Stevie-boy to avoid this by taking his boys into hiding until the window closes. Either that, or there is a contract out on him.
  8. If that's the case we are heading for a Great Depression.
  9. Berbatov definitely needs a rest. Come on SAF, you know it makes sense. And that young Hernandez guy while you're at it.
  10. Puncheon II?
  11. http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/cgi-bin/res.pl?keyword=Mush&offset=0 MUSH Mush is British slang for the mouth; face. Mush is British slang for a friend. Mush was British Second World War slang for a jail cell. Mush was old British slang for an umbrella. Mush is Southampton slang for a boy or man. Mush is Southampton slang for a man or boy born in Southampton. Or maybe that's a load of bollocks.
  12. Oh deary me. Looks like Chinny's high-wage promotion push gamble is collapsing spectacularly. And the window closes in less than a week. Does he throw more dodgy money after bad in a desperate bid to get to 6th place, or throw in the towel now? What is a loan shark to do? Tick tock ......
  13. You sound like a Storrie-teller.
  14. I'd like to have a sixsome with Allessandra Ambrosio, Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Lui, and Salma Hayek. But I would settle for four of them.
  15. This.
  16. We'll forgive you this time, but don't let it happen again.
  17. Or trousering 80% from any transfer fees.
  18. Or insist Wigley be appointed manager instead of Glenda?
  19. Either that, or they have judiciously handed out a number of stuffed brown envelopes.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if Chinny does indeed plan to hang around long enough to trouser as much of the parachute payments as possible. But those payments will still get paid even if he flogs off as much as he can, funds only nippers and Pulis-level rejects on £100 per week, and the Cheats suffer 4 successive relegations.
  21. "Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill could have just 13 outfield players available for this weekend's clash with Leeds." Well Steve, that may have worked to get breaks from morons such as InJustice Mann and even the FL, but I doubt if BC is stupid enough to fall for that ploy.
  22. Very true. But the question is, does Chinny continue with his gamble or cut his losses now? The Cheats have to overtake 12 other teams to claim the final playoff spot, and even then it's only a 1/4 chance for the big prize. So generously assuming a 1/12 chance of finishing in the top 6 (they can forget about the top 2), that gives BC about a 1/48 long shot with his Lawrence/Kitson etc. high-wage gamble. I bet he now wishes he'd simply taken the millions he's squandered in a vain attempt to keep the Cheats competitive and instead plonked it on number 36 of a roulette wheel.
  23. Well, if they can keep this up it may convince BC that his gamble has failed, giving him a chance to pull the plug and offload as many players as possible before the transfer window closes.
  24. Yes, but didn't Saints also fail to score in 5 matches that AL missed earlier in the season? That's what makes this worrying.
  25. 12 points away from the lottery of the playoffs. 12 points away from a 25% chance of avoiding liquidation. And with suspensions and injuries impacting their overpaid "paper thin" squad. Oh what a dilemma for the loan shark owner. Does he continue to throw dodgy money after bad?
