Unsure. I'm really enjoying the football at the moment and I wonder if I will if/when we get to the Prem. I'm of the opinion, that we need to invest in players if we want to get promoted. I said at the end of last season, that I wanted us to sign a keeper as I have never rated Bart (but heck, what do I know if NA does) and a striker, as DC and Barney are not going to do it for us this season. Oh dear, I should delete the above as it is not a Yes or No answer!

1956/57 season, my dad took me to see Pompey for the first time. They were in the First Div. We lived yards from the Dell but my Dad knew very little about football, other than the fact that Pompey had a few England players in their team (Jimmy Dickinson and Peter Harris). We were in Div 3 (South) at that time and the fixtures seemed to fall that we were home one Saturday and they home the following one. We did that for the whole season before I plucked up courage to tell him that I hated going down there as Saints were the only team I wanted to go and see. He replied, "Why the hell didn't you tell me before! I only went because I thought you liked it." I have only been back 3 times since then. '84 being one of them. I don't remember the rivalary then anywhere as hostile as it is now.

I was a sponsor with Junior Saints when we were at the Dell and for the first 4 years at SMS. I enjoyed my connection with the club greatly. The staff in Community were always very helpful.

That was worth reading, thanks for posting. FWIW, I have felt for some time that we are very thin in quality with the squad. We have NO player to fill in for RL. Barnard is no Maynard/Sharp/Luca etc. I like Hammond but his displays of late have been poor imo. I thought that Fox was a good buy but his last home performance was very poor. Perhaps we are just having our little blip?

I heard tonight that Lukas Jutkewicz is a done deal (from a pal at SMS) Gossip or fact, no idea.

Not connected to Jos' signing but a little gossip from a pal at SMS is that the lad from Coventry is coming. Jan deal. Also a Far Eastern player (Japanese he thinks) shown around club. Could be just gossip but he has been correct in the past. (Ducks below parapet)
