They have come in with an idea and have this time follwed it through with a team supportive of those ideas rather than Harry 'Stick in the Mud' Redknapp. Now he has run out of money watch his old squad wither and die - their old brigade are worthless and picking up stupid money each week that they cannot cover. Even the gun money has run out!!! On the other hand we have invested a little bit here and there cleared out the old style and old ideas, promoted the kids who will both entertain us and finance the future. We will lose a few along the way no doubt to the PL bright lights but we are now a team on the up, and yes led by two blokes who have made mistakes in the past - they hopefully will learn from them and go on to make different mistakes, until then we should all man the pumps and help these kids take Saints forward. We have players out their with an ambition to play Premier League football, not a bunch of journey men who realise that promotion could be the end of their meal ticket as they are jettisoned for better players.

This is my biggest fear/hope. If JP and Lowe do continue to bring in players like this the financial ship will be righted more quickly and start providing us with funds to build a better side. For me without promotion Scneiderlin will be gone to the likes of Tottenham, Blackburn at the end of this season or as you Arsenal or maybe Liverpool at the end of next.

As much as McMenemy upsets me now with his continual sniping and bitterness towards the clubs decisions he did manage to achieve this mix pretty well. That said signing the likes of Osgood then is probably like singing say Shearer now.

I think you sum it up in this post - I am excited about the prospect of seeing a Saints team fight for everything again, show a little passion as they have done in the bigger pre-season games and also to be entertained for the first time in 3-4 years! Yes we all want to be promoted, and I expect some think it might or might not happen, some will be more positive some more negative. What I do think is this team of players and the manager are setting out in the right spirit and deserve our support regardless of what is happening in the board room. I think the whole atmosphere around the squad and the management team is more positive and less rumour riddled than for a long time. I can't wait to see what is going to happen my prediction is that we will be closer to the top than many think given a little bit of luck and a good run of form from the kids. Injuries may be the biggest detractor as the squad is to the bone in some areas.
