  1. If we lose it won't be through over confidence, it will be because Walsall played better than us. They've lost one home game, to Leeds, and they were winning that one with ten minutes to go. Tough game, but we have a secret weapon. I am going with my wife and she has never seen Saints lose away. Mind you she's only been to two games: 0-0 and 6-0 at Wolves.
  2. The same mighty Wycombe who inflicted Millwall's only home defeat of the season in their last away match. Makes this a good win.
  3. When did Liverpool beat us 7-1?
  4. In the play-offs against Derby we lost the first leg and won the second (3-2 I believe) but lost the tie on penalties. You can't say we lost the second leg because we won it!
  5. Make sure you read the small print as justgiving take a cut of all donations, although it's probably still worth it to get them to do the administration.
  6. The £1 car park was exactly where you want, on the left, heading south.
  7. I drove through Northampton the last time they were palying at home and parking for £1 was being advertised a short walk from the ground. Or the one outside the ground is £3.
  8. Well SFC have guaranteed sales of 2000 so if we don't sell that many it will cost the club and they won't do it again. Strange that they are not really pushing sales on the OS. I'll be there because it's virtually a home game for me but I hope to see at least 1999 fellow Saints there.
  9. Especially as Newcastle had beaten them 5-0 the week before. Albert's chip over Schmeicel for their last goal was the inspiration for MLT's goal.
  10. Beattie's winner was in 2003. I remember it well because I watched it in a bar in Uganda with quite a few local Moan Utd supporters. Oh how I laughed whehn he headed in the corner in the last minute.
  11. Eastleigh are in the Conference South, only three divisions below us! They messed up the play-offs last year after being 4-0 up in the first leg away.
  12. Best wishes to Kevin and his family. A great pro who always gave 100%. Who will ever forget the goal against Norwich (unfortunately, overshadowed by MLT's three) and the huge leap to score at Wembley. What a celebration that was.
  13. +1 I am confident this person would not be allowed anywhere near our club and if some mug team takes him on and he visits St mary's I hope he get the abuse he deserves.
  14. Aye!
  15. BUt Ted still holds one record that is unlikely to ever be broken - most goals scored in an FA Cup match - 9 for Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic against Margate in 1971.
  16. Semantics!
  17. No, but it doesn't matter what time of the year we played up there it was always freezing.
  18. Read the saints twitter in post #3 and that's what it says. 150 on sale at 9.00am on Tuesday.
  19. It was probably warmer there because it was a typical freezing day in the north-east up on the terrrace in the corner. I'm only just warming up now twenty six years later. And the locals werre walking around in t-shirts asking us what the time was!
  20. I was at Middlesbrough when we went top of the league for the first time (Keegan scored) in the early Eighties and there was only around 150 there - an exclusive crowd for a special occasion.
  21. Great post. Things will get better. It may take weeks, months, or even years, but it will happen.
  22. What argument? We did beat Derby in the play-off second leg, 3-2.
  23. In far-flung places, like Canada, New Zealand and South Africa, I've had locals see my Saints cap and immediately say 'Matt le Tissier, great player'. He is much more famous world-wide than we think.
  24. There were at least six on the train from London Bridge to Charlton the other week so they haven't all deserted us.
