Probably nothing to do with this fund but I was talking to a Swansea supporter before the last home game and he said that they had all received a voucher for a pie and pint to be used in the away end and Swansea would give the same to all Saints away supporters for the return fixture.

It was the Gothenburg 4-4 game that la Ling played in. He scored two (I was in the Archers behind the goal and I swear he was a foot higher than the crossbar for that header) and was generally excellent - needless to say we didn't sign him!
-
I was there and remember Greaves scoring but the crowd was nowhere near 30,000 - it wasn't even near 20,000.

BBC website gives following stats: Chelsea's PL record when leading by two goals at half-time before tonight: W87 D1 L1. -
I was also in the Watford end. Beginning to wonder if there were many Watford supporters in it! Ormerod will be remembered for that goal alone.

Yes, the boat, the RMS St Helena, used to come to the UK (Portland) twice a year but now it will just stick to the Cape Town - St Helena - Ascension Island - St Helena - Cape Town route and presumably will be pensioned off when the airport is completed.
-
No, sorry. Is that what you are there to do? Who is going to live in these houses? Are you living at Longwood?

Recently moved to Christchurch for a couple of years so may see some of you at the cricket tests next year. Anybody going to watch the All Whites v Tahiti in World Cup Qulaifier on Tuesday? -
There is a big population in Swindon, which is known as Swindolena!

I visited St Helena in 2010 as my brother-in-law and family were living there (they left this year). I didn't come across any Saints supporters there but one Saint approached me on the boat when he saw my cap and said he had been to the Dell. Other than that the only connection I found was the clapped out old Ford Escort we hired for the week for £10/day which had been imported from Testwood Motors in Southampton. The island is worth a visit although we virtually saw and did everything in one week. The Napoleon stuff is ineresting and there are some good walks. The whole nature of the place will no doubt change when the airport is finished in 2015. I would recommend a few days (or even a week if you have time) in Cape Town before getting on the boat. I assume you are working for the Government? Good luck and enjoy your stay.

And the 25 games we have won? Were they all flukes or was it because the opposition bottled it?
-
I was one of the 300 or so there too. Bloody cold in that corner.

Kevin Keegan Mick Mills ?

This. (Paine, Chivers, Paine etc.)

I would be amazed if Fonte was dropped. The only way Martin will play is if Jos is not fit. He took a knock to his head when he scored and appeared to be struggling at times - that's why he came off.
-
Fonte had a free header on a ball coming with pace and put it straight at the keeper - a far worse miss than Guly trying to generate power and head home the rebound.

Tuesday's matches, inc. Brighton v Reading (1945 KO)

If they go down by more than ten points then the points deduction gets carried forward to next season, as with us. That would be best. -
If you already bought a ticket for either the Ipswich or Barnsley matches you can get your Coventry ticket now. Otherwise you have to wait until 14 April.
-
You can collect them before the day.

I believe that NC and NA should both be paid more than the highest paid player. There was a feature somewhere last week (Daily Telegraph?) about European football and there is only one club in Europe where the manager/coach is the highest paid employee - Arsenal.
-
Agreed. Steve Williams, Steve Moran, Nick Holmes, David Armstrong and Danny Wallace, to name but a few, are more Saints legends than KK for me. How long was he with us? Three seasons?
-
I think Shearer's only hatrick was on his debut v Arsenal. Many younger supporters may be surprised to hear that his goals per game ratio was very average for Saints (and he was awful on one on ones) and many supporters thought we had got a very good deal when we sold him for a record price. Of course, subsequently this proved not to be the case!

And Norwich last season. (They only let West Ham have upper tier.)
