  1. of course not...... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/boss-pompey-will-never-overspend-again-1-5592523
  2. Not quite I think. The company that owned the club had to go into administration, the current company took the club as a going concern, but happy to be coorected. Either way they still want their cake and to eat it still. And as we know, the club can have retrospective action taken, even if it were owned by someone else at the time of the crime.
  3. Is it panto season already?

    Antwerp...

Went there with the other half but would defo go with the boys. Plenty of bars in the main square, and some good ones along the sea front (one to go in when hammered is the one with an old fashioned mechanical organ (think bagpuss mechanical organ!)that plays classics on the reels and then loads of themed bars liks salsa etc. There is then the rather large red light area (little Amsterdam) if the boys are so inclined. You can get fairly cheep trips there on Eurostar (change at Brussels), or if you want to stack up on booze it's about 1.5 hours from Dieppe by car. Don't tell your other halves where you are going though as they will expect you to come back with diamonds as it's the diamond capital of Europe (really cheap compared to the UK).
  5. you shouldn't use most products on unestablished lawns. Mix some seed with some compost in a bin and leave it to start to germenate (takes about a week) and then sprinkle on the lawn. That way the birds won't eat it. You'll need to water it thoroughly every day. Again don't cut it too short whilst it's establishing. in the spring you should be able to use a lawn feed / moss killer.
  6. Don't forget the VAT that they need to pay on the £2.25m. That leaves them with £1.875m, but as it's the land of Portsea that can probably wait till never.
  7. You are right, but they have one exception - remember they didn't pay a fee for Webber, but last week admitted they managed to sign him by paying agents and that might be a route they will have to go down again. Basically they are saying they are already finding ways to 'bend' the rules - or as I prefer to call it 'waving two fingers at everyone'
  8. Anyone else spotted the obvious spin in this story. I would expect season ticked sales to be an infinite percentage higher this year - these two sentance make it clear why, so I don't get the euphoria: Pompey remain 40 per cent up on this stage last summer and have 30 per cent ‘new’ customers. What makes our figures even better is that last season’s sales were launched quite late (June) so it was a condensed period to sell tickets.
  9. Don't forget that they could 'look to settle' for that, but still won't be able to help themselves from helping themselves to more of other people's money, so plenty more laughs along the way yet.
  10. Nope - our next game is Sunday....
  11. Unfortunately I don't think Luton are part of the members club at the moment so I rather the FL will file this in the ignore file, but it would be good if the media started to pick up on it!
  12. Luton aren't happy! http://www.bedfordtoday.co.uk/sport/football/trust-issues-new-letter-over-pompey-punishment-1-5051350
  13. And AFC Wimbledon
  14. This little gem basically means that the current plan is based on the assumption they can increase income across the whole club and at the same time reduce expenditure. I'm sure the fans will "pack the park" despite this..... Also, if the plan relies on achieving this assumption, then I think it onlt right we should open the sweepstake on the timing of the next (number 5?) administration.
  15. Now the snooze wants to turn the blame onto the police.... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/police-under-fire-after-pompey-fan-is-hurt-in-stadium-melee-1-5002327
  16. here we go.... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/banker-puts-in-bid-to-buy-fratton-park-from-portpin-1-4968855
  17. far more elequently put than me!
  18. The 10 point deduction is for replacing the existing CVA with a new one without having obtained the agreement of the individual creditors. The event will not happen until they come out of administration (if), and as it still remains possible for them to honour the original CVA (ha ha) then they have not yet done anything to warrant the deduction.
  19. maybe she has a new other half?
  20. Common sense = put the beast down. Let's hope so indeed.
  21. Get in - that leaves them with 3 games to go (maximum) before the end of the season, when almost certainly they will be already relegated - a 10 point deduction would be meaningless so I'm sure the FL will see sense and accept the abuse from the Phew that they've got it in for them (despite bending over backwards to keep them going all these years - any other members only club would have just expelled them years ago).
  22. I think the FL are being very careful with the tense they are using in their statement. They are saying 'they are not considering...' which simply means right now they aren't, but that doesn't mean they could not consider something else tomorrow.
  23. Unfortunately I don't think it is that simple. I think the administrators role is to try and save the business whereever possible and achieve the best possible return for creditors. If it were just to get the best return for creditors he would have liquidated on the day the PP arrived. Of course, we could raise the funds and tell him we were going to run the business, but once it's ours we could do whatever we liked....
  24. Filled it in for you.
