I hate to admit it but I thing he is right about the result. We are the better team yes, but this game has 'banana skin' written all over it. I would take a draw now.

Ha ha it had me for all of about 10 seconds....it's my birthday today so used to this. Maybe its a warning to RH to select him for England or else!!! -
You have a brain tumour, go see the doctor (and watch the film phenomenon-bright light)

Maybe but I think his crossing is excellent and should be used more regularly.
-
I know he comes in for a lot of stick and I am a fan but accept he can be woeful at LB sometimes but you cant deny he has a mean cross on him which showed several times against City. So whats the answer, move him up to the wing, train him to defend rather than go forward or ship him out?
-
No way, this one is play to win.

Just saw the game on MOTD. Fair game but Davis was dreadfull. The sloppy goal he gave away was one thing but seeing him constantly beaten is making me nurvous. Time and time again you see the shot come in and thank fully go wide, then Davis dives, its truly an accident waiting to happen, I fear for the Arsenal game. What's the latest on Gazza? Good solid point though so pleased overall with that. Stoke at Home look very good though!

I think all you lot should get off his back, if NA sees him as the future, ill go with his opinion and experience over any of you lot, give the lad a chance. We score points when he plays and we dont when he doesnt, tough decision! (and he will get better)

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
conaero replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I hate to admit that if we want to be playing Prem football next year it is the answer. My fear is that it will all end in tears in the long run and the club will be in a worse position when turkey neck walks. -
....and if saggy takes us down again, the silenced blues down the road will be laughing at us again, I dont know what worse, that or relegation!
-
...look on the bright side, a championship side is going to be getting themselves one hell of a manager soon at that level.
-
Thats what I recon. Its such a shame about our Nige, but, to go down 4.1 to the playoff side from last year shows that we are going backwards. My concern is if the squad has it in them, is a new manager going to inject the enthusiasm back in? If not I can just see it being 'saggy chops'. Has a manager ever taken a prem club down twice in 2 seasons in charge???

A prime example in answer to the second post.

You may well be refurring to me and my open post about Adkins earlier today. Although I live near to Portsmuff I can assure you I am 100% Saints. I must confess I am a lurker rather than an active poster. I go to the odd match, always watch them on Sky and have Saints Player and listen to every match without fail. The reason I don't post much is I find this a very aggressive forum and there seems to be a core of members that seem to think they have the right to bully anyone new with adverse views. This forum is for all users, to express their views and not there for the regulars to abuse people. I don't wish to aggravate anyone I just thought you should know how this forum is viewed from the outside and give my reason for my long membership and little posting. For sure, I find some of the posts very entertaining and I can see you get annoyed by repetitive threads. If you have issues, take it up with the admin. So go on, slate me if you wish but I am trying to be honest here.

That is of course a valid outcome, but as Saint Sinner correctly states:

Adkins is being given 10 games I feel, you could see something isn't right it in his face on Sunday when we scored and he had a vacant look....the signs are there...maybe the required points tally is unachievable with the remaining games...who knows, but something is weighing heavy on Adkins. It was the same look when we achieved promotion last season. The TV crew cut to the manager, and he had this bewildering look in his eye, same as on Sunday....like he had delivered what he had been contracted to do and now it was all over. Its a difficult one. Adkins is an amazing man and I do rate him as a Champ/L1 manager but, as has been pointed out, time and time again he is unproven in the the Prem. Ok you might ask, how is he supposed to get experience without being there and learning...fair point, but as we all know, there is no sentiment in football. So, the way I see it we have 2 options: 1. Stick with Adkins, go down, stick with Adkins...he learns, we come back stronger. 2. Show Adkins the door and employ a proven Prem manager with no guarantees of staying up. I looked at the Vote thread about should he stay or go, and I mulled it over and voted to go, which I feel ashamed to admit, I think he should be just told, come what may you are the manager for the next 2 seasons and just get on with it, but we all know how Mr C works, he is a hard, hard proven business man and I think he will move for a new manager. One final thing to think about, the consistent and most successful teams in the Prem stick with the same manager, its a fact, something that Everton and discovering now. Chopping and changing is a short term fix.

Whats Neimi doing these days....SOS

If you read my reply you will say I said nothing about "who said our defence was good enough"...it says whom ever 'thought' our defence was up to the Prem, i.e., the person whom is actually calling the shots at SFC. Read the reply properly before you go jumping on people.
-
Yep, smells of desperation. I personally would stick with what we have and work on it, but it does point to my other comments on the NA thread of whom ever thought our defence was up to the Prem was seriously deluded, and this fact is more worrying.
-
Thats where my head is at the moment. Its like the team went up from the CC too soon, another year would have been better, another year of development. If we come back down, hell, keep him. We know he is a great manager, he just is on a steep learning curve at the moment and well out of his comfort zone. My biggest issue at the moment is who thought the defence inc the keeper was up to the job in the Prem. I suspect, being an ex keeper, this was not NA fault an he got overruled. I find the transfers bizarre TBH and it smells of someone calling the shots who shouldn't be.
-
Thank god for that, life can return to normal now!

Billy Sharp - Joins Notts Forest on Season Long Loan
conaero replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Shame if he goes, I believe he will do well in the Prem and score some important impact goals off the bench. Keep him I say. -
The reason he left Scunny for us was that he had taken the club as far as he could have. What we have here is a different scenario. He still has a lot to prove and he is a descent man to boot. Maybe he will leave but not now, no way, next season, maybe.

Away to Leeds without a doubt for me. Was a nervous wreck and just think what would have happened if we had lost as we should have, Saints would have ended up on 85 points, Hammerss 86!!!
