Students don't get any income tax perks, they just don't typically earn anything much!
-
I suppose that's a fair point but I'm pretty sure those clubs would have other ways of finding out other than through our OS. I also don't believe this "you need £4m by the end of the month" rumour. Quite odd IMO - I can't for one second believe Barclays would pull the plug on a fairly high profile football club, and certainly not on the back of failure to meet some arbitrary figure.
-
But it doesn't even state "for an undiscolsed fee". I was fully expecting some crowing about having secured the money in a lump-sum upfront payment, hence the risible amount, rather than £3m spread over 5 years, or some such arrangement. I think the OS should at least make a cursory nod towards the fee.

Lowe and WH Ireland: Why the connection is pivitol for our club

Firstly - aint gonna happen. Secondly - JOHN GREGORY. Are you mental?
-
Well, probably. Think it's a bit odd that there is no mention of the fee at all though.
-
Utter, utter, nonsense. He is one of our most important players. Have you seen how bad Bart is? If KD goes and Forecast is not an adequate replacement we will definitely get relegated.

Doesn't mention the transfer fee. Quite an important fact IMO. Plenty of info about Stoke City though.

Rupert - Please tell the fans the true story

I still like this league. -
Tongue in cheek? If not, an all time classic piece of idiocy.

I think Thomas is absolute garbage as a footballer (although not his fault we paid over £1m for him) but for a bloke who has not been in the squad for the last couple of games and has been told he can leave to turn up on a crappy evening to watch the reserves I can only say fair play that man. Yes, was thinking the same myself (although "absolute garbage" is far too harsh IMO). Good stuff Wayne.

1. - Not going to get a more favourable deal than the current one. Wilde could pay this year's loan note payment with his fabled £2million. There's an idea!
-
Hilarious.

I was quite enthusiastic about global warming. I think I need to stop being so Anglo-centric. I am becoming more and more enthused about emigrating somewhere with a proper summer.
-
I am thinking of moving to a tax haven when I am a bit older to stop this kind of filth from happening. Seriously.
-
Pointless question. It's what Lowe's "prudence" achieved first time round, and yet some people still proclaim his "astute" footballing acumen.
-
Overall wealth. Wilde is supposed to have tens of millions. Askham has nothing like that.
-
It would help in a purely financial sense as they would be buying something for the same price that now had £1.3m less of liabilities. EDIT - sorry, you said seller not buyer. If a price has been agreed with the seller for their shares, they will walk away with the same amount regardless.

Lol - cheers. It'll be Inter. Yeah - like a lot of leagues in Europe, matches are subject to late changes. I'll be going on Friday and coming back Monday though so should be fine whenever the kick-off is. Cheers. Lol - I went to Sporting v Benfica, Lisbon derby and there was some good flare action: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Le2zZnV1ROw EasyJet is £58 return to Milan at the moment (well, for the dates I'm loking at anyway.) Have flown to Rome on BA for about £50 each way before.

Why are my smilies still not working properly? I did the roll-eye one not that one!
-
Sorry, you're quite right! For some reason I just read the number wrong.

Steve, the £14.4m figure is for the previous year's period. The figure for the 6 months ending 31 December 2007 is £11.7m.
-
I was talking about player's salaries, not transfer income. It's easy to find out - there's a link to the reports on the OS. I've just checked and in the 6 months ending 31 December 2007 player wages were £6.1m (so about £12m for the year, as I said).
