  1. Good news. There is something there, but we're not going to find it with him getting 10 mins here or there at the end of a PL match.
  2. The key is to get as many PL quality players as possible on the pitch at the same time, IMO. From our current squad, those are: Ramsdale KWP Sugawara Taylor ABK if arsed Janny B (if hes got a good partner and GK) Downes (IMO) Fernandes (hopefully) Lallana (but probably can't play 90 mins so need to find another option too) Maybe Officer Dibbles, but let's not break him Cornet I would try this: ----------------Rambo----------- Suga---Bedders---THB/ABK---Taylor ---------Downes-----Les-------- Cornet-------Fernandes-----KWP ‐--------------BBD/Archer-------- Lallana and Dibbling can come on for the last 35 minutes (if it turns out Dibbling is too good not to start then we can figure that out later).
  3. You're a fucking disgrace.
  4. No chance he should be sacked whatever happens this season and should stay for next season. Keep him and go down and next season will be absolute class. Keep him and stay up and he will have done brilliantly. I couldn't give a shit if we go down this season.
  5. Too many holes in our defence, with centre backs doing man for man jobs miles up the pitch, and Smallbone and Aribo being too slow to cover. You really can't have those two together in a midfield three in the Premier League. Smallbone, in particular is too slow and weak. And that's ignoring the times we just pass it to the other team. How the fuck neither Armstrong nor Stephens scored is a mystery. Get Lezza on for Bonio and I would also consider putting Dibbling on for Arma and have him play off BBD. I think BBD has done well. I really hope we don't wait until 65 minutes, because that will be too late. Lallana, Archer and Fernanj for later. The cocommentator on my stream is a proper bellend, too.
  6. He is talking about Southampton Football Club making the bid. FarehamSaintJames is not proposing any involvement on his part.
  7. --------- Ramsdale-------- Suga---THB--Janny B--Taylor -----Downsey---Smallbone------ ------------Fernanj--------- Arma -----Archer------KWP Subs: Macca, President Bree, Capn Jack, Big Les, Aribo, Lallana, Officer Dibbles, Samamamaoyow, BBD
  8. He had posted a set list from one of his shows. There were lots of early Oasis top tracks in there, so I thought it looked quality. However, the encore was I Am The Walrus. They used to cover this in Oasis, but I always thought it was shite. So, I replied: "Can do without that Walrus nonsense". And he replied and said (I quote verbatim): "You can go to the merch stand a by a tee shirt when that's on SMARTARSE".
  9. I've just remembered....Liam replied to a Tweet of mine once, and called me a smartarse. Legend!
  10. Similar to Turks. Was a huge fan during Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory years but from the third album onwards they were pretty boring and irrelevant. Saw them back in the day and not really interested in seeing them again now. They never really had any stage craft or showmanship - just Liam trying to look cool, so I think it was really an "of the moment" thing.
  11. Fantasy suggestions lads, but keep it realistic, aye.
  12. He's a worse player than Armstrong and Diaz. No point stockpiling Champ players.
  13. Sometimes it's matches like these that kick-start a season. In Koeman's first season, we lost our first match against Liverpool, then we had a disappointing home 0-0 against WBA. Third match was Milwall away in the cup. I went. We picked a strong XI and were crap for 60 minutes or so, then Cork scored and Pelle got his first goal for Saints. After that, we won 4 league matches in a row. I think we should rest a few key players (Bednarek, Downes, KWP) but other than that, we should pick a strong side and try to get some confidence in the forwards. I would go: Macca Sugawara (or Bree if there's a chance we are selling KWP) - THB - Capn Jack - Taylor ------Lesley---Smallbone------- A Arma --- Dibbling------Edozie -------------Archer--------- Put Diaz on after 45 for one of the front three and put Fernanj on for one of the midfielders.
  14. So annoying. I don't think anyone can say we should have won, but we also shouldn't have lost. Aribo just needs to kick it FFS. That said, did look like he was fouled. If we're going to play the two "strikers" we need to get them closer together. We're not good enough to have no proper focal point up there. P.s. Dibbling looked excellent.
  15. Armstrong's touch and decision making is awful today. And Smallbone being a bit too defensive. I'd put Les on for Bonio and Dibbling or Amo Ameyaw on for Armstrong and have them and BBD play a bit more central. Could make the positional change and give Arma 15 mins there too, I guess. Have Fernanj and Archer as options for a bit later. First goal is going to be key.
  16. It's not defensive. When we have the ball Stephens goes into midfield, Aribo goes very high and the full backs have licence to go pretty much anywhere. It's more fluid and probably more creative than the 433 we used to play, where the wide players would often get isolated and we would struggle to find space between the opposition midfield and defence, plus we look much more solid at the back. Please watch more closely.
  17. Armstrong - 12 BBD - 10 Archer - 8 Edozie/Sulemana/Dibbling/Amo Ameyaw - 2 Smallbone / Aribo / Fernandes - 6 Downes and Les - 1 KWP / Suga / Taylor / Manning / Bree - 2 Centre backs- 5 That's 46 goals. Decent chance of staying up. You don't need someone scoring a shitload, you just need someone to take the chances we get and also to maximise set pieces as far as possible. Of course, if someone does score a shit load then that's largely the difference between bottom half and top half.
  18. 4-1 Saints. Easy.
  19. It's OK, it's already been done.
  20. Well, bijlow me down. I think that's fewer teams we well finish bijlow.
  21. Who negotiated this for us, Derren Brown?!
  22. We had several good chances. - Smallbone / Stephens offside - BBD header - Armstrong dipping effort - Armstrong/BBD goal line heroics Plus decent half chances for Alcaraz and Archer. By contrast, Newcastle DID NOT CREATE A SINGLE SHOT ON TARGET, other than the one McCarthy gifted them. So you can criticise if you want, but you'll need to make a bit more sense if you do.
  23. That was one of the most dominant performances I've ever seen from Saints in an away match in the top flight and but for one error and some goal-line heroics it would have got as a result. Anyone using yesterday's match as justification for a gripe at Martin is a balloon.
