I think 2 up top is the way to go. - This will mean we might lose a few that could have been draws, but also, perhaps, win some of those games too. At the moment the play isn't dull, but we have a real difficulty in affecting the final third, with two strikers we can be a bit more direct and if those two can build an understanding we could start to see improvements in results.

Saints 0 Watford 2 - Match & Meltdown
NorthamSteve replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Forster needs a rest, hopefully that'll be the kick up the arse he needs. Tadic needs to shoot. Sadly Gabbi is too good for our side. His movement is quality, the supply is awful. That said, the back four looks ok, bearing in mind we were beaten by two unlikely goals. Perhaps a change of approach next week? Two strikers? I dunno, but this performance is worrying. Not a chance, he's a bellend.

That's essentially the same thing, mate.

Your opinions throughout this thread illustrate the problem. In answer to your first question, it's news because there are 5000 pro footballers in England and Wales and NONE are out as gay. There are only 2 players that ever played in England and Wales that did come out as gay, one left the country because of the stigma attached, the other killed himself. What you appear to be lacking is emotional intelligence, not considering how hard is must be for anyone in that world to come out, it's fantastic that Hugo felt comfortable enough to do but there is still so much to be done in this aspect of the game. It's not about saying 'I don't care about your sexuality', it about creating a supportive society that makes it as normal as being straight. Clearly, you're not homophobic, but you could perhaps consider the barriers and stigma attached in football society that you'e ignoring, instead of passing off what is a very big story as a load of cobblers.

I wonder if, as a result, when we go to Brighton in a few weeks our fans will hold back on the anti-gay chanting. - I doubt it.

It is bizarre that it has to be news, I agree. But football is a strange sport when it comes to this subject.

Excellent. Let's hope that people can behave like adults about that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

3-0 and SRL didn't score. These days of turning up to home games knowing full well I was about to see goals and a win were the best days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Look really good in that half. Early days but if the players can get used to these ideas we'll be winning more games than we lose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think what this video points out was pretty obvious for all to see for much of the season. We were crying out for a decent striker, Gabbi came along and we started to get a few more decent results, for a while. Now we have two decent goalscorers I expect a few more goals this season. - I wonder if the system will enable us to have Gabbi and Austin on the field at the same time.....

Can we finish higher than eighth in the 2017-18 season?

Ah, yea. Ahead of myself. Still stands that they need a lot of players, regardless. -

I expect of all of those teams Liverpool will suffer the most. They need about 7 players in total to compete on all fronts. - Their defending is woeful and two of their best player will be at AFCON in January. -
He made a cheeky appearance on the Victoria Line a few days back.

Having got fed up with FIFA online being essentially a sprint competition with forwards, I traded in and got PES for the first time in about a decade. I can confirm that PES is now the better game if you're looking for a football sim. If you just buy games because they look nice, then maybe FIFA would be your bag but the depth of tactics and statistics in PES is incredible. And you absolutely HAVE to look at tactics to get by. I'll be getting PES 18 and I suggest you do too.

Good point that ^

The Prem don't get an additional place in Europe, the CL spot is at the expense of an EL spot. So it doesn't matter anyway because if we make it to 8th we won't be in Europe and we won't make it to seventh anyway.
