Tomorrow it's an hour extra. I remember which way it is by this simple nmemonic (spl) Spring forward - Fall (American Autumn) back

Kevin Keegan, European footballer of the year, signs for Southampton - MUST come close?
-
If we don't get the licence (golden share) then the club in the final releagtion spot in this league last year will be put back and will be given our fixtures. This will then cascade down the leagues with the clubs who thought they had been releagated being put back to their previous league. That means there are quite a few clubs hoping we don't get a buyer.

For third tier football - this would ensure the lowest gates in the league.

She is having too much fun reading all the wild guesses on here.

Just after Saints won the cup there was a proposal to build a new stadium near dock gate 10 (on the land between the gate and the railway line). The board at the time didn't have the bottle to go through with it. It would have meant either putting their own money into the club or moving aside for someone who would. They didn't want to put their own money in and wouldn't give up their positions as directors, so the club remained at the Dell.

Join the Britannia (a MUTUAL building society) and only pay 0.4% above base rate.

Gates:- 1) if we've got a team that battles and shows some passion then people will return to watch and if in top half than expect 12 - 15K. At end of season if in with a chance of play-offs (very unlikely, due to point deduction) Then increase to 15 - 18K. 2) if team not successful then gates will drop throughout the season. Will start at about 12K mark, but will drop to 10K and for wet Tuesday nights lucky to get 8K. Prices:- £15 all round the ground (except corporates which is different pricing structure altogether). £12 for youth & seniors and £6 for kids. Season ticket holders discount of 3 games. Liked the idea that if a special offer is made then the value of that offer is carried forward to the next season for season ticket holders to encourage renewals.

How can linking the TV deals between the Premier League and the football league kill off the "moneyless clubs"? Allowing the FL to piggy back on to the PL TV deals will see more money at a lower level in the game (That's why the PL won't agree with it). How can making the 'Solidarity' payment permanent kill off the "moneyless clubs"? Every time the PL TV deal is renegotiated the 'Solidarity' payment is under threat, if it is made permanent then the money is guaranteed. How can re-opening the transfer market kill off the "moneyless clubs"? If clubs need a quick injection of money then raising that by selling a player part way through the season, rather than waiting for the transfer window, has to be beneficial especially for the "moneyless clubs". How can 'greater security of registration for home produced players' kill off the "moneyless clubs"? If clubs can't poach young players because the registration process is tightened up then that means the less well off clubs will not lose players on the cheap.

Precisely so why doesn't he put a full statement on the OS, so that people can see what was actually said rather than try to interpret the spin that the media put on it?

Quote from the article They [saints] are never likely to compete for honours, and only in the most remarkable of seasons would they be likely to be knocking on Europe's door, but they can certainly aim for the mid-table type of security that clubs such as Derby, Wimbledon and Leicester have achieved in recent years. Well we've certainly achieved the type of security enjoyed by those clubs, but not quite in the way the author meant.

Petition for a gagging order for all past directors...
ShirleySaint replied to Gordon Mockles's topic in The Saints
I'm not sure, but if you gag them, you'll never find out and as Dean06 says the little bits that keep coming out are interesting and all build to the bigger picture. -
Petition for a gagging order for all past directors...
ShirleySaint replied to Gordon Mockles's topic in The Saints
What's wrong with learning the truth. I'm fed up with all the rumours and assumptions that ITKers and others post on here. Let's hear what the main protagonists have got to say for themselves, then we can make our own minds up as to what really happened. I'm always suspicious when people want to stop debate, what have they got to hide, are they frightened that the truth might come out? You can take this as a no vote. -
Wotton injury - the referee nearly had blood on his hands
ShirleySaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Agree, I didn't realise the game had ended until I saw one of the Burnley players shake the referees hand. People were gathering along the front of the Kingsland at this stage waiting for the game to end, but nothing happened until people realised that a free-kick was not going to take place. At that point some people started to cross the barriers and it was only after one or two had evaded the stewards that the actual pitch 'invasion' happened. -
There are quite a few missing from the list who I would think could afford £1,000. Top of my list would be the Echo, followed by the players (even a whip round making a a grand from the team, would be a gesture), then various people associated with the club LM, the Corbetts, Wilde, Lowe, Cowan, Osman etc. If these people were seen to be giving, then the awlfullness of the situation might just hit home. After all most of the above claim to be in the know about the seriousness of the situation, but it appears it is not serious enough for them to dig into their own pockets.

and then we'll be able to sell them to rescue Saints the next time they go bust!!
-
Why don't you go along and have a look. Incidentally, most of the argument on here seems to assume that everybody who attends St Marys comes from Southampton. Prior to moving from the Dell 40% of season ticket holders came from areas outside Southampton ( before anyone asks, I know this because I did the analysis as a researcher for the Council at the time). I dont know what the figure is now, but why should only Southampton CT payers be asked to help the club out at this time, why not all the other LAs where supporters come from.
-
At that price to buy 1% of saints you would need about £47,000. All you people who think Rupes is doing a good job can form an orderly queue outside his office for your allocation.

Why not just chant "SACK THE BOARD"
-
The figure quoted by Lowe was £25k a week, which is £1.3m. He did also mention that was equal to 15% of the clubs revenue, but it wasn't clear whether he was talking about the revenue at the time the player was brought, or subsequent year's revenues.
-
I wish people would get their facts right. Cowan is paid £25k for two days a week - not quite as good as your misleading statement but still not bad for a part-time job.

I didn't realise the reindeer had so much power - up the workers!

Mick Channon in hospital following car crash
ShirleySaint replied to saintbletch's topic in The Saints
The driver of the car was killed - is that serious enough for you. -
Add another 2,000 and the bus vouchers will be added back to the tickets. (Damm couldn't find icon of pigs flying).
