  1. Can't understand this thinking, if we're positive we don't worry about the teams behind us and only think about catching the teams in front.
  2. Perhaps refs would give the foul (in the box) if the offence was downgraded to an indirect free kick?
  3. As Le Tiss himself says he didn't miss the keeper saved it.
  4. Looks like I can do links, just need to work on the spelling now (palyer should be player)
  5. Not according to BBC. AL rated as best palyer http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24966559 (Sorry not sure how to do proper link).
  6. If you want us to believe you why don't you name them. As they were (allegedly) Mayors, they can't be shy of a bit of publicity. There were ten mayors during the eighties (in Southampton it's a different councillor each year, although occasionally a former mayor will be selected for a second stint), but don't pick any two of them at random, they might be readers of this board.
  7. It may come as a bit of a surprise to you, but the IRA and Islamic terrorism and their sympathisers are not left wing. People may support their causes, but not the means used to obtain them. (So that people don't start accusing me of supporting things I don't, my position is:- I think a united Ireland is a good ideal - if the people of Ireland want it, I don't think any government led by religious fundamentalists is good). This debate would be helped if people didn't descend into childish name calling, especially when, like you, they don't know what they are talking about.
  8. You obviously have very little imagination, or memory. I don't remember the right wing holding back just a few weeks ago when Hugo Chavez died.

  10. What does the 'Academy GPS Analyst' do? which is the 64th job listed in the link above. Some what below the job of 'Academy Mini Bus Driver' of which there are three 43rd, 44th & 45th in the list.
  11. The reason for the loyalty scheme is two fold. 1) To reward fans for going to away games and ensure that those who regulary go to games get to the front of the queue when there is a high demand for tickets. 2) To encourage people to register on their data base, so that they have contact their details (for future sales promotions) They already have your details and, as a ST holder, you are already guaranteed the points for home games, whether you go or not. They want the contact details of your mates, so to encourage your mates to register and get their own points they won't allocate them to you.
  12. We've already out spent Barcelona, according to yesterday's Guardian "The club finished with a net outlay of around £33m during the last transfer window, making them the seventh biggest spenders in Europe, outdoing the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, Internazionale and Real Madrid." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/sep/14/southampton-youth-policy-nigel-adkins?INTCMP=SRCH But not all the signings have really trained together with the rest of the team, let alone played a full 90 minutes. When I saw the fixture list, I thought we would be lucky not to be bottom at Xmas, I just hoped we would not be too far adrift. I think once the new players start to train and develop an understnding with the rest of the team and get a few games under their belts our season will start to improve.
  13. The bear is the Liebherr company logo
  14. I can't understand some of our fans. A bit of constructive advice (1976_Child have you emailed club directly?) and from under a stone emerges the usual 'one brain cell between them' type of comment. We are a top professional club, we should act that way in EVERYTHING we do, and if someone who knows what they are talking about can offer advice on how to improve then that should be encouraged not degenerated. Was Poyet interviewed in the same position? if so then poor facilities provided by Brighton, if not then deliberate either by TV company or Brighton in the facilities they make available to interview opposing managers.
  15. In was in the Echo a week or two ago. That doesn't mean it was true. Please refer to parts of thread above about accuracy of Echo stories. I think they are still talking to the police about it and until they get it sorted and know which seats are not available for Saints fans they won't be able to start selling the new season tickets. Can anyone come up with a more plausible reason why there's a delay in putting the season tickets on sale?
  16. Haven't seen this anywhere else on the sight (apols if it has been posted) For the curious amongst you, here's the Wembley Stadium "View Finder". Click on the block where your seat is located in the image on the left, and your view will appear on the right. http://www.wembleystadium.com/staticcontent/3dseatviewer/popup.html Mods this might warrant a thread of its own rather than being stuck on the end of this one (can't start my own and couldn't think of more appropriate thread).
  17. This would only be true if the people on this forum were randomly selected from the whole fan base. The people who visit and (most importantly) post are self selecting. It is therefore very unlikely that they are representative of the whole fan base. The clubs poll re moving the away fans bears that out. The majority of posters on here didn't agree with the club's suggestion, but the club poll said the opposite (unless you are going to accuse NC of lying?).
  18. Ooops clearly I do know how to do a web link.
  19. This is a quote from David James (http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/James-in-hiding-after-derbyday.6078555.jp) [Don't know how to do a web link] 'We weathered the storm in the first half and in the second half had our lot behind us, so every time Southampton attacked we could hear our fans rather than theirs. It was great." Who thinks we shouldn't move the away fans now?
  20. Don't know what will happen, but the FA would lose their share of the gate receipts and TV money if there is a bye. So suspect somehow or other they will ensure a game is played.
  21. No it could possibly be five times in one year. Paint Pot Cup. FA Cup Semi-final Play-off Final FA Cup Final and then Charity Shield (or whatever it's called these days). Anyone got any flying pigs icons?
  22. Oops meant to include quote in message above.
  23. He did that to waste time, so that Waigo could be ready to replace him, otherwise we would have been down to 8 out-field players to defend the freekick. Very quick thinking from the coaching staff to use the substitute, especially as it was Waigo who headed out the ball from the free kick.
  24. What an amazing discussion. A whole thread about offside, but not one poster says how many offsides were given against Saints and how many of them Waigo was responsible for. Can someone give us these facts, so that a sensisble discussion can take place about Waigo's tendency to 'drift offside' or alternatively his ability to 'beat the offside trap' can take place. Incidentally I sit in the Northam end of the Kingsland and for what it's worth althought I saw the Linos flag go up quite early in the play I didn't think any of our players were offside for Waigo's goal.
