Do Footballers still use dubbin on their boots
the wedge replied to Viking Warrior's topic in The Saints
Still put dubbin on my boots and have done since my first pair when dad showed me how to properly take care of my football boots. And I'm only 22. Swear by it. -
Good work Steve and Baj. Always an insightful and relevant experience popping on here to read what the consensus is on our club. Long may it continue.

As a younger fan, can you oldies tell us what Ray was like?

No idea how it works, but no you don't need glasses. It's absolutely mental. Pro Evo/any football game is utterly silly fun to play. The depth of field is amazing, seen to be believed I feel and a snip at £200. (Sounding suspiciously like an employee of Nintendo now, I'm not I'm just an actor...)
-
Anyone looking at getting one of these? I'd not heard of it until last night, I filmed an advert for them today and got to play on one for a good few hours. Just about wet myself at Pro Evo in 3D. And Street Fighter, Zelda, Mario Kart and the like. Not owned a Nintendo since the original Game Boy but this piece of kit blew me away today.

He only left because of a large falling out and a questionable at best attitude. One of the few in the know stories I have.

Oldham V Saints - Post Match Celebration Thread
the wedge replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Just found this on OptaJoe's twitter: Since December 28 2010, Southampton have scored 17 goals in just four league games, an average of 4.25 per match. Juggernaut. Wonderful feeling. -
Sell it on to a friend/acquaintance?

Fair policy, I approve. I'll be there, being a massive database member. I swear with the amount of games I've paid to see I could've just bought a season ticket.

Absolutely thrilled. Wonder how much his basic is now.. Would think it's one of our highest for a long while. Not that we're skint! VERY HAPPY!
-
Anyone know if the ticket office will be open during the day tomorrow? Hoping to take the old man to his first St Mary's game.

Charlton Weather Watch/Build Up - game called off! (Dejavu?)
the wedge replied to Nexstar's topic in The Saints
Oh FFS. -
No congestion charge over Christmas holidays. Our Boris' treat. And to be fair, if you come anywhere near the congestion charge zone when driving to Charlton you've done something terribly wrong.

For what it's worth, I might put in some facts about an admittedly small minority of students, but a significant one at that. I'm an arts student, a drama one. I go to an accredited drama school that's affiliated to the University of London. So being a specialised institution I spend more than 3 hours a week there. In fact I'm in from 830am til roughly 7/730pm 5 days a week. When there are performances on, I won't leave til gone 10pm, 5 days a week. With the planned cuts to the arts institutions, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CUTS to government funding, my uni will go under. According to the principal of the college, each student costs circa 15k a year to educate at my uni. £3000 is through fees, the rest from funding and private investors. So even at £9000, the uni will not function without the government funding, which has now been swept from beneath us. The arts are bearing a significant proportion of the cuts, and it's going to be everyone that suffers for it. It might not seem important to most people, but we happen to lead the world in this field, and it's one of the few industries that we still do. We have been staging protests in London with the rest of the ULU and the NUS, but from what I've seen from the peaceful end of the spectrum, the minority have let us down. Not all students are lazy, useless, ignorant people. But unfortunately too many are.

Yawn-tastic.

Some Pardew-esque substitution policies in operation here...

Horribly gutted for the lad, not many nicer people around than him and he doesn't deserve to be this prone to injury. I think age is on his side for now, just hope he can deal with yet another setback. Good luck feller.
