Reeves showed the determination, guts and desire to get goals and get the ball to his feet. He worked his socks off whereas Forte just watched everything go by him. Should have scored the guilt edged chance he had. Didn't and then instantly faded again.

Just heading home now. In a game lacking a result, there were one or two positives. Ward Prowse, despite one or two nervous stray passes, was very composed and assured in CM. Delighted he got 90 minutes.* Morgan ran the midfield, he's a brilliant player and has evidently come on leaps and bounds over the summer. Bart has found his kicking boots, very pleasing. He seems much more confident these days. Always like to see Holmes get a good run out. Despite his lack of pace, he always looks a threat. But Forte is an awful footballer. Infuriating display and deserved to be subbed sooner than he was. Poor Reeves was fishing on his own, coming deep to collect everything as Forte was no hope. De Ridder flatters at times, but often loses control of the ball and needs to run at his man more. Gave possession away far too cheaply far too often. Seemed to play better on the left. Palace were nothing great, just two lucky goals capitalising on our lack of killer instinct in the 1st half. We could as should have been one or two up at half time. Disappointed, but there were positives today.

Who was captain after Dean was sent off?

Fantastic. Utterly fantastic. Record attendance. Now will they keep coming?!

I've a Bad feeling about today....
-
A starting midfield of 4 central midfielders. We're gonna lose today.
-
I thank you.

Basically a home game for me too. Disappointed though. Damn.

I like that line up. Good luck to the boy Reeves, good chance for him with the support he'll get on the wings. Could see goals tonight perhaps.

I'm drowning in ambiguity.

Was hoping she played Lady Mary then I would've called in to ask for her number. Might not now I've googled her. But small world nonetheless, she's very good!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaahhhaaaaa. Brilliant. No chance.

Yes I know and appreciate that. I think my post was made out of frustration that we have one hell of a rumour mill going round, but very little end result from it when the rumours are shown to be valid in some way. But I know filling the gaps we have in the squad isn't easy. Just frustrated that we've not done it yet.

Livid. Players rejecting personal terms is a serious lack of ambition and intent from our side. Either that or he wants silly money.

Also scored 12 goals in 43 apps during a loan spell at the Foxes. I don't know much about him myself, is he a good prospect?
-
Fourth_Official: Derby and Southampton are both keen on Martyn Waghorn with the latter leading the race so far #Saintsfc #LCFC #DCFC 21 year old Leicester City Forward. 30 apps, 4 Goals.

Have you told the companies that you're now the tenants and that the unpaid bills aren't anything to do with you? My friends were in a similar position, and what seemed to work was a hand written note stuck to the front door saying 'Person X has not lived here since (date) please contact the landlord on xxxx) Simple but it did work. I don't think that these people can enter your home without you opening the door to them in the first place, so don't.

Did Paul Jewell describe Connolly as 'cute' at 7:03? Awh.

Update from a trusted journo pal (and Saints fan) who told me that the deal is a fantastic piece of business for us. So I'm happy.

Telegraph really sums it up for me: 'With the likes of Alex Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert, will not want for attacking options. Jack Cork is also an exciting signing from Chelsea. But they will find the Championship punishes their occasional defensive lapses more harshly. Will beat some superb teams, but also lose to some abject ones.'

I hate Umbro's goalkeeper shirts. It's like they spent all their time on the outfield players' shirts and left the keeper's ones to the last minute.

To be fair, his club is still listed as Southampton, whereas other players have no current club are also included. Therefore I just think he's transfer listed for a free, and is still in fact a Saints' employee.
