  5. Walked past the scene as he was being defibrillated. RIP to the guy.
  6. Just like to add my two cents to the posts that have preceded me, not often I post but I feel the need today. First off, the journey I had down from NW London was nothing short of awesome today, after tubes mucking up my journey plans I managed to grab a X-Country train at Guildford to Southampton from Manchester Piccadilly. At Guildford I met three great people, Habib and two American/Korean tourists visiting the UK. Habib was a seasoned ManU fan and lost on his way to the game but the tourists took me completely by surprise and restored my faith in my club and the spirit of the FA Cup. Without tickets, this couple had decided as part of their holiday here to see Southampton play football. Not Man U, Arsenal, Chelski etc... They were here to see us play. And also Park Ji-Sung, but that was understandable. I had no idea how much these guys knew about Saints on face value, but the train journey down was a constant discussion on how we were doing, how the young squad was coping, how they hoped Surman and Lallana would stay, and how excited they were about finally seeing the Saints play! I kept name dropping who we were playing but they did not care, it was all about Southampton for them. Which made me feel pretty good about my club. Habib, my other new pal, and two other ****y young ManU fans on the train were very inquisitive about Lowe, and often said how he has ruined our club a second time. What struck me was how honest and genuinely concerned these ordinary fans were about the plight of SFC. They were sure we could get ourselves out of the mess, and fully understood the fans' anger over Lowe. 'Couldn't happen to a nicer club'. My point I guess, is that whilst Southampton Football Club exists, the fans of the clubs we played against week in week out still keep an eye out for us, at least recognising we're still here. And as for the Korean/Americans, we must be doing something right if people from thousands of miles away arrange their holiday plans around a Saints game. They said if they couldn't get a ticket for today then they'll be at Doncaster! Anyway, the game. We were heartless, soulless and didn't try to trouble Man U. Apart from the aforementioned Perry, Davis and Skacel we were out of our depth and like lost souls in the Valley of Darkness. I do like Lloyd James though, his tackling is quite often superb. And I'm pleased Olly Lancashire didn't get either sent off or have a penalty given against him There's potential in these boys. But right now that is about it. I'll be at Doncaster, I thoroughly hope this team learns from today and after the Forest game and takes a huge kick up the arse to get us out of trouble. If we go down, I fear the club won't be here anymore.
  7. I've no idea where he's off to, but the bottom line from my source was that he's going whether it's Brighton or the free transfer bin.
  8. Wotton's going. My source claims he slated McGoldrick in the tunnel in front of both teams before a game (game unclear) and that he is generally a bad influence on the team. Hence the no shows recently.

  10. Isn't Cafu a free agent now? Playing for Clifford's team in the non-league?
  11. As a student living in North London, Saints games are somewhat of a 'treat' for me. That said, I have been to more games this season than I ever have in my 20 years, and I can categorically say that we have given worse performances every time. I've also been to every away game in London bar Palace, which I listened in on, and by all accounts we were appalling then too. But from my point of view, there is no leadership coming from the dugout. It's all well and good having 'old heads' amongst what are some excellent individual youngsters, but if they can't lead from example then who is? Our manager seems inept, from what I have seen, to give our players the extra lift and encouragement they need to get off their arses and work for the shirt. It was kindly pointed out to me yesterday by a charming racist in Block 3 that Jan never moves into his technical area other than to fold his arms and do sweet FA else. That's not what our players need. WGS was always there. Pearson was there. Jan is not, and our squad nowadays need that type of manager more than ever. The level of support I have for this club has never wained, and it will never die. But to the charming racist in Block Three, please don't ever say what you did to David McGoldrick ever again. It's people like you that put off the large family of 4 young boys and girls and their parents from ever seeing their team again. As Will Champion, Coldplay's drummer sat in the row in front of me yesterday said, 'They've lost the spirit of the shirt and the club...' He left at half time. I will be at the Reading game and Manyoo, my student loan's never looked so bleak, but then again, neither's my club.
  12. 0-0 Written all over it
  13. I can hear the Saints fans sing! Come on!
  14. No he's not, I think he's a hugely underrated player. Some of his tackling was nothing short of superb on Saturday.
  15. I must admit, I am smiling a fair bit at all this! When will the suffering end?
  16. Oh good mornin'!
  17. I'll be there! Woo! Making the shorter journey from NW11 this weekend Last game was Wolves, previous to that QPR away, previous to that Blackpool home... Pattern emerging... Uh oh..
  18. As a young supporter, this issue came before my time. I've never been educated as to what this magazine did to Branfoot? All I know is that he wasn't majorly liked...? Just a background to it will do, so I don't seem completely out of the loop!
  19. Well that's fairly conclusive!
  20. It will cost you more than the standard 10p. I know Orange charge 20p so it'll be around that amount. In my opinion the best thing to do is buy a sim card designed for exactly that. One such company is lebara mobile. (http://www.lebara-mobile.co.uk) All texts are 10p, and calls to NZ are 13p to a mobile and 4p to a landline (per min) Not a lebara salemsan, just used to work for a mobile phone company in my gap year. It's pay as you go, just like any other network, just designed for calls/texts abroad. Just pop the sim card in your phone. You get given a different number, but it'll save you money. You can buy them in Phones4u and Woolies, and can top them up pretty much anywhere. Hope this helps slightly!

  22. Just had a text from a pal at the game saying that the place is deserted!
  23. Downaloaded it couple of days ago - and I think some of the criticism is a tad harsh. Ok it looks the same as last year's in terms of layout, but a major turn off for me last year was having to adjust to a new layout every time, so I feel quite at home with the new one already. Ok, it crashes in the middle of a match every now and then (which is fecking annoying when you're 4-1 up at Barnsley) and there are far too many injuries, but overall I quite like it. I'm pleased the media engine is bigger, I like the press conferences, especially when they quote me saying "**** off" to a reporter. I also like the 3d match engine too, despite the crashing bit. I'm sure SI will patch that bit up?? I find myself more involved with the 3d game than the old 2d. However, I think Saints are better than they're made out to be in the game, but you can say the same about Fifa09. I just hope the levels of potential are high for the current young squad. Even McGoldrick's scoring for me! Thanks to LeGod for the hard work he's put in to get the game rolling.
  24. Good god the worlds gone mad!!!!!!!!!
  25. Well done boys!!!!!
