  1. Surely the team picks itself, on performance and ability so far: Davis Cork Perry Spiderman (if match fit) Lallana Fish Surman BWP (never thought I'd say that) John That just leaves 2: No reason not to play Skacel after last night Wotton (with Killer on the bench if he's fit in case it doesn't work) Put your 11 best players on the pitch, and fiddle with the tactics from there
  2. McG misses a sitter
  3. Who is this Wright-Phillips bloke? We used to have one of them, but he couldn't play football
  4. KD's still a spectator then
  5. missed

  11. Yes. Quiet day. 0-0 not a bad start by saints. Not on satellite where I am, but listening on saintstv
  12. "Southampton v Norwich: Glenn Roeder orders Canaries to get smart By Mirror Sport 30/09/2008 COCA-COLA CHAMPIONSHIP Soton vs Norwich, kick-off 7.45pm Glenn Roeder has ordered his Norwich players to wear club suits and ties for all away games, rather than the informal track suits and trainers of the past. Roeder said: "It's all about standards, which seem to have dropped so much in recent years." Looks like we're in for a stuffing then.
  13. 1-1 after 90 3-1 Saints AET But I'm not daft enough to put money on it!
  14. Seems Mills having a good game at FB, & Surman MUCH happier in midfield. Sounds like we're playing much better this half.
  15. Only listening on SaintsTV. Sounds like BWP is seeing a fair bit of the ball, but not doing much with it. Maybe a change there for 2nd half (not Dire please)
  16. Only 30C here. Nice breeze.
  17. Sorry, my ignorance. But still a great chance to measure the progress of the side so soon after the defeat. And, especially if it goes into extra time, the chance to mix up the tactics and give 15 or 16 outfield players a run out in a competitive game against tough opponents.
  18. We need to play our strongest possible team tonight. This team is still in the learning stage, and needs to play together as much as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for us to find out whether we've "learned our lessons" from the first Brum game. A draw tonight would be a good result for us. It'll show that we have indeed learned from the defeat, and will give us another competitive game against "quality" opposition, away at St. Andrews, where valuable points aren't at stake.
