It ain't broke. Don't fix it.

He's still here at the moment. He was presenting this week's Champion's League matches on the local satellite channel. Doctor Pain - wasn't that a horror movie?
-
Me too. Was that really 30 odd years ago? Spent a chunk of my student grant overdraft to get down to London for the game, so probably didn't eat for a couple of weeks afterwards.
-
And we could (and should) have scored 6 today. Goals coming from all over the place. Very, very encouraging.

Anybody got the Skates game on satellite?

The army of best supporters in the league have been told that, today, victory lies at a place called Oldham. Why Oldham? There are plenty of other hams to choose from. Take Newham for instance. Much nearer to home, and a nice day out in the big city. Or, apparently, there's a West Ham and an East Ham nearby. There is also a place there called Tottenham, but the local team from the area are sending their third team down to the South Coast with somebody called Saggychops to collect some free Premier League points. However, decent football fans have been strongly advised to avoid this area. The "Rogue Guide" describes the streets as being "... littered with torn-open, empty plain brown envelopes.", and the area is under close scrutiny by the Premier League fraud squad, who are looking for an explanation for the mystery of Tottenham's disappearing points. Apparently, Tottenham have only been picking up 2.7 points for each win this season. 10% of the points have been inexplicably disappearing, and the PLFS are searching for clues. Much closer to home, of course, there's Upham, or even Lower Upham, or there's a few Downhams if we wanted to head east. Or why not a nice day out in Wareham? But the powers that be have decreed that Oldham it is, so the best army of away supporters in the land have switched on their Tom Tom's and are on the road. Incidentally, I hope they've told the people from Oldham which one of the Hamptons are coming today. They'll be very disappointed if they're expecting Littlehamptons. COYR's

Tilson (their manager) -Saints contention for play offs
hutch replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
That doesn't sound fair to me. -
For the Carlisle match, I had to listen to most of the game on the "Carlisle" channel. Solent was pretty much unobtainable. Never got more that 5 minutes uninterrupted. I don't think that one was down to the distance. Carlisle is a bit further away from here!
-
If you want to follow live match commentaries, and live outside the Solent reception area, you haven't really got a choice. But I do have a couple of issues with it (yes I am a subscriber). I think it's a bit of a cheek to increase the price from 25.00 for CCC last year to 34.99 for L1 this year (40% increase). And from my experience, the quality of the audio stream on the new service is not so reliable. It drops out a lot more often, and you have to disconnect and reconnect quite often (but I am very far away). And on the old SaintsTV you could download the video clips to watch later. Now you can only stream them live. All-in-all, a lot less product for a lot more money. But what choice have you got?

What CEC says is true, but I prefer to look at the ratio that the present 1st team/squad are achieving. They haven't been here for the whole season.

As a consequence of recent events, the Premier League have made urgent changes to the Membership Rules. The following statement has just been issued: As a consequence of recent events at a Premier League Football Club, the following changes to the membership rules are introduced with immediate effect :- Premier League Football Clubs are only permitted to sign new owners during the January and Summer signing windows. New owners signed at any other time can only be signed on loan. Emergency loan owners can be signed at any time, provided that the existing owner has been forced to flee the Country for valid reasons, which include: Being charged with money laundering Being charged with arms smuggling Being charged with drugs smuggling Misappropriating national wealth while President In answer to a question, a Premier League spokesman confirmed that manufacturing cranes or heavy earthmoving equipment is NOT a valid reason. Allegedly!

If I remember right, when we signed PWN up, the OS reported that it was 'till the end of the season, with an option to buy. This one doesn't say that. (Although it does say "initially")
-
Why? We've scored 6 in the last 2 games. I'm already a bit bothered that there's 3 loanees in the first team now (PWN, Mellis & Trottman). We've just signed a 4th, and assume he'll play (otherwise why sign him?) Why bring in more "temps"? Permanent signings in January, that's a different matter. But no more temps, please.

Next target - get out of the bloody relegation zone
hutch replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I have to agree with those who say the next step is to get off the bottom, not out of the zone. Small steps, one at a time. Based on recent form from the current team & squad (which we haven't had for the whole season), I'm very confident that we'll be off the bottom by the end of this month, and out of the zone by the end of the year. I, for one, will be very happy with that. Onwards and upwards. -
Mine did (was a renewal - not a new sign-up)
-
Indeed they were. Only scored 301. The difference was the Irish wicket keeper we had in the side (sorry, can't remember his name). It goes to show that one man on his day can make a difference. I wish one of ours had the confidence to do it. Several of them have the ability.

At birth. It's a genetic thing.

Has the season started today?

Didn't he say he wrote it down as well? Not surprised, it's an easy one to forget. On what basis do they pick these d***heads

I s'pose all you other ex-pats have got poopey up live on the satellite as well, and SaintsTV commentary.

Poopey 2-0 down

I see that AP is still the "former West Ham manager"
