I would settle for the odd stint in the EUFA Cup. I don't enjoy seeing us get thrashed.
-
I always put that down to the Dell. It was very different from the other top club's grounds. Made it hard for others to play there, but also made it hard for us to play anywhere else.

prepare, prepare and prepare again. Make your presentation to yourself in the mirror several times PPPPPP

Personally I thought the commentary from MK Dons was good. Hartlepool's wasn't too bad. Solent have been rubbish all season, and should be moved on in January, or loaned out. JMHO FWIW

We were still in the changing rooms. I think we'll find the second half of the season easier than the first. We'll be "up for it" against teams that got a result against us (beat us or drew) to prove a point. And I think we'll find it easier second time round against teams we've already beaten. Home or away? It doesn't matter. Wouldn't want to be in Brighton's shoes on April Fool's Day

It looks like we'll play them in the QF anyway, if all goes to plan (and if I understand the FIFA website!).

I'd rather have a couple of Halle Berrys

I think that one lost something in the typing!

We should cut them some slack. They've had a good weekend, by their standards. They won a game. They scored a couple of good goals. They kept a clean sheet. They finally moved off the bottom of ..... Oh, no, wait a minute ....... And they've got a few easy fixtures coming ...... Oh, no, wait another minute ...... Maybe not. I'm banking on us meeting them in the CCC next season. Would be disappointed if they don't come down and join us.

Here (here is South Africa) there are 11 official languages, and the place is full of European ex-pats, so it really doesn't pay to get hung up on what people might be saying behind your back. English is far and away the most common language. However, I am reasonably fluent in Afrikaans (legacy from spending a couple of years here long ago with my parents when I was a nipper), but most people don't know that. I choose to keep it under my hat, but do listen in when people around me are speaking it. If I didn't know better, I could quite easliy get paranoid about what people could be saying about me. But in reality I've never heard anyone say anything that would embarrass them if they found out I understood. Bi- or multi-lingual people just naturally switch between languages, and I've never found that offensive. We live in a multi-cultural world. p.s. I'm currently trying to learn some Arabic, but not making much progress.

Open top? Probably only on the way back!

Dave Merrington. Look no further!

And as for Morgan, fair play to him. We shouldn't underestimate the huge psychological effect on him when he was told earlier that if he stayed in the English third division he could forget France international honours. He seems to have got his mind around that, and if he continues to let his boots do the talking, he'll get there. Bon chance, Morgan.

I think it's actually German living in Switzerland. Watch your language, you lot!

So, they're going to be paid a proportion today, and the rest later. What wouldn't I give to be a fly on the wall at Fart'n today ..... Here you are Aruna, here's a fiver for you. I'll give you the rest next week. Honest.

Fair point, and I wasn't there. But it's not Kelvin's ability as a shotstopper that I'm questioning, it's his command of the box, and relationship/understanding with his defenders.

And then we loan them out to other teams in this league who are not our promotion rivals, on condition that they can't play against us. A cunning plan. Expensive, but cunning. I hope Markus is reading this.

I'm going to be even more controversial, and say that Bart is the answer. Or rather not having Kelvin in goal is the answer. I think I'm right in saying that Bart has only let in an own goal and a penalty in two and a half games. For us, that's heroic! I read elsewhere on here that, maybe, other teams have identified a weakness between our 'keeper and the back 4, and take advantage of that. I can't say if that's true, but it is possible. I have huge respect for Kelvin, and what he did, but it seems to me that he hasn't been on his game recently. He was certainly boiling inside when he made the statement on the OS when the team captaincy was taken away, if you read between the lines. I know AP can't take the credit, because Kelvin wasn't dropped. But we have been tighter at the back since.

After reading here, I thought some perspective might help. Here's how the WW mob saw it, from their forum: "It was a disappointing performance from the Chairboys who never looked like making it three wins in a row, created virtually nothing going forward, and can consider themselves fortunate that the Saints didn't punish them even further. The home side showed quality and pace going forward, carved Wycombe apart on numerous occasions and only failed to score more goals through some wayward shooting, a tendency to fall into the offside trap, and a few decent saves by Blues' keeper Scott Shearer. All the Blues had to offer in the first half was a volley from Ian Westlake which went well wide, and blocked shots from Matt Harrold and Stuart Beavon. The Saints on the other hand had a goal disallowed for offside, a header against the post, a header cleared off the line, several wild shots off-target and an unbelievable miss from Papa Waigo N'diaye, who somehow fired his shot over the crossbar from a few yards out with the goal at his mercy. The Saints had been torturing Wycombe on the flanks and it felt like just a matter of time before they made it count, so it was no great surprise when a clever through-ball freed Papa Waigo N'Diaye on the right and his pinpoint cross was fired into the net by Ricky Lambert with the Wycombe defence chasing shadows. It was more of the same in the second half, with Southampton's crisp passing and superior movement off the ball enabling them to open Wycombe up with alarming regularity. Wycombe's best chance of the match came shortly after half time when John Mousinho fluffed a glorious opportunity to head Craig Woodman's corner kick past Saints' keeper Bartosz Bialkowski. The introductions of Scott Davies, John Akinde and Matt Phillips for Stuart Beavon, Ian Westlake and John Mousinho, certainly improved Wycombe's attacking performance and gave the decent sized travelling support a glimmer of hope, but it still wasn't enough to get past a Saints' defence which rarely manages to keep a clean sheet. The only three shots Wycombe had in the second-half all came from substitute Scott Davies. One long-range effort wasn't too far away, one forced the keeper to turn the ball round the post and one missed by a mile. It wasn't just the result that was disappointing, it was the fact that a lot of the fighting spirit shown against Millwall and Brentford was missing tonight. Without their on-loan players Wycombe don't look good and they couldn't afford to have two of them on the bench and one missing altogether tonight. The defence looked ponderous against the athletic Saints, the midfield were slow and too easily brushed off the ball, while up-front the cutting edge was non-existent Man of the Match Scott Shearer" HTH
