Yeah, no need to worry about HMRC. That's not 'til next month.

I doubt if Sol Campbell is a creditor. He appears to be suing them, but unless/until he wins his case, or they reach a compromise, it is only a "claim", not a debt.

Down here (and all over africa), a "taxi" is a 16-seater minibus (Toyota HiAce type). Should do nicely, most of them will be familiar!

Wages? Or short term loans?
-
I expect it's the money through the turnstiles (big attendances for league games and lots of extra cup games) and extra prize money from the cup runs, that are paying the wages. I saw somewhere £250K for the TV rights for the Pompey game. They'll still be here, especially when we're on a roll for automatic promotion and winning a few more cup games next season.

If he's gone on a free, that would surely cause them more trouble. AFAIK it in unlawful to dispose of any assets at less than market value after the winding-up petition was issued (to prevent asset-stripping before winding up an empty shell).

Or 2 free if you help clear the snow off the pitch?

Not good enough for a team claiming to have real play-off aspirations. Particularly giving away leads in the last 2 away league games. Can't see that as anything other than 4 points dropped. We should be expecting to beat teams like Brentford, home and away. But... In perspective, of the last 9 league games, 6 have been away - and we picked up 8 points from those 6 away games - not wrist-slitting form. And we picked up 9 from 9 in the 3 home games. 17 points from the last 9 league games isn't bad, and I am still enjoying it. It will get better.

So, it looks definate that the rumours about new owners at FP this week were true after all. I just don't think that it was Sullivan, Gold and Brady they had in mind.

Anybody got the Live Score updater thing working on Saints Player? All 0-0 here.
-
"Pardew will go in at half time and he'll know his team are winning 1-0" WTF, Dave?
-
I heard they paid somebody else £3m to read the Williamson contract in English:)
-
Or it could be that they don't want to (or can't) pay it.

Consensus on here is that Morgan gets a 3 match suspension for a straight red. Does that suspension automatically re-set the counter on his yellows so far to zero? I think he was already on five. Where will he be if he serves a 3 match ban?

I think they desperately want O'Hara back for the rest of the season. Without him, and with a couple of sales in the window, things really do look bleak for them for the rest of the season. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Grant walk at the begining of February. It wouldn't do his CV any good to stay on.

There will be a firesale. Total Football beckons at FP, boysh.

The -9 is just for going into administration, and more will follow if they don't get out of it with a clean bill of health. The real fun lies in the fraud charges against Saggy, Storrie & Mandaric. If any or all of them get found guilty, then the -ve points should really start to mount up.
-
Aah, Barton Peveril. Me too, but in the days when it was a proper school.
-
James should get enough for the wages, and Kaboul for the tax man. They could still get to the end of the season.
-
No. I think it means they will now have to show up in Court on Feb. 10, and prove that they don't owe any money to the tax man. If they can't, they'll get a few days (maybe 7 or even 14) after that to pay up what they owe or be wound up.
-
No. It just means that the winding up petition will be heard as planned on Feb. 10 So I guess that's how long they've got to find the money, unless they're daft enough to think they'll win in Court, and won't need to pay up.

For a couple of months, you always had the feeling that Saints had an extra gear if we needed to use it. Not at the moment. Goals were coming from the whole team - Lallana, Papa, Connolly, Hammond, even Harding and Trotman. Fix it Pards, you know you can.
-
So, no news from Court yet. Can't say I'm surprised. If Pompey had won, it would have been all over the headlines by now. But if they lost, I expect they'd scuttle off down to the PL HQ with their tails between their legs, and I can't see HMRC posting it all over their fans chatboards.
