It's nothing to do with his roots. He was a prat. I met him.

Why would we want to take on the wages of 5+ absolutely top drawer first-XI players we don't need if we're running a "proper" business?
-
And just as importantly the Aqua case from last year, where HMRC had Andy booted out on his ear for cheating, and replaced by a firm called Griffins (sound familiar?) I genuinely feel sorry for the fans. I think most, if not all, of them would settle now for another relegation to get rid of AA, Chainrai, Storrie and the other crooks and get on with the long, slow process of rebuilding their club. This "death by a thousand cuts" could drag on for a long, long time yet.

Either him or Mike Tyson will do up front.

The Courts take the view that any dispute which can be settled by payment of a sum of money from one Party to another will not be considered urgent. In my experience, Judges & Advocates work pretty hard and long hours. There's a lot of work to be done to get ready for the "performance" in Court (if you want to win).
-
The High Court closes on 30th July and doesn't open again until 1st October Not sure about the other Courts, but I expect they would be similar.

He never owned it. He excercised control over "Al-Mirage's" shares. Falcondrone was the owner when they went into admin, not Portpin. As others have said, he lost that control when they went into admin.

I think the picture's a bit bigger than that. HMRC do want their pound of flesh from Pompey. But they also, quite reasonably, want to stop this sort of thing from happening again. Hence the challenge to the "football creditor's rule" launched againts the PL and FL. IMO the only way they will not challenge the CVA is if they have already reached a deal "in principle" with the leagues to either scrap the rule (unlikely) or put HMRC on the same footing as football creditors (possible). Neither of which helps the Skates (Chainrai).
-
IMO this latest statement from AA is part of preparing the ground for fending off HMRC's challenge to the CVA, which we all suspect is coming. Remember, last time they were in Court the buyers were forming a queue at the door.

Unfortunately, every time I hear "Sheffield Wednesday" I get a vision of Woy Hattersley. Scary.

The wind of change is blowing through football finance across Europe. It's just a stiff breeze at the moment, but I forecast it will get stronger over the next 5 years.

At the moment I think it's 70, but it'll go down as more games are played.

Is Frazer the 1st player with a Letter Z in his name to play for us?

How about a translation of this?
-
Anybody able to translate this (from Saturday's Italian sports press): Cesena, chiesto Papa Waigo alla Fiorentina.

OK, and for pedantry's sake, in your particular case you could opt to take the train for, as you say, £4 and buy tickets for the first 6 home games which are now on sale. There's lots of different ways to break down the maths. It all depends on what particular point you're trying to make.
-
Unless, of course, one had to go into Southampton, or to SMS, for any other reason, and had the foresight to buy/collect one's ticket at the same time.
-
and go through the "will he - won't he" again at the end of next season as we're doing now about Antonio/Papa? A good loan player will keep a permanent player out of the team. Think long term and build for the future. Loans should be a short-term solution to an injury or lengthy suspension. They shouldn't be a part of your primary squad.

No you can't, as Andy said on 28th May (and I quote): "Our coaches are going nowhere. Then again, that may be famous last words. I suppose making sure nobody takes them away from us is probably my next problem. I have not heard they are thinking of moving"

I would imagine that it's fairly important to have an in-house medical practitioner to vet and approve in advance every prescritption or over the counter medicine that ANY player plans to take, for any illness or ailment. There have been issues in the past with sportsmen "inadvertently" taking banned substances, and failing drugs tests. The sensible conclusion would be that any member of the playing staff must only consult the club doctor on any medical issue, from a sore throat to a broken leg, and only take medication which has been prescribed or approved by the club doctor.

Will we all immediately forget Ted (or Mary) if the Ted Bates Trophy match doesn't take place? I know I won't. Do Liverpool play an annual Bill Shankly Trophy match? Do Munure play an annual Matt Busby Trophy match? We're moving on.

Alpine won't be the only one.

Are you sure? He was last season too

I remember something about being able to sign contract extensions with existing players who are under 24.
