  1. Probably worth some opinions now the Leicester Derby game has finished
  2. Sounds like you need to get Mrs. Kingsland on the job then Captain
  3. I can remember when a bloke used to hang numbers next to A..B..C..D..etc around the touchline, and you had to check your programme to get the halftime scores. And they still expected you to pay for your ticket. Bates out FFS
  4. hutch

    Frazer R

But I think Butterfield's fit again
  5. Hmmmm. If this wasn't Saintsweb, I might think that somebody was telling porkies.
  6. Good luck to him. I'm sure he'll do well at Watford.
  7. What better chance to open up a gap than against Watford?
  8. .... or both? Why not try starting with Harding when he's fit, with Fox on the bench, and bring him on later. Maybe even bring him on for somebody else and have them both on at the same time. That might work.
  9. I nearly walked into that one. Thanks ESB.
  10. I believe he is, here on loan from an Italian club the season before last. He played up front, too far up front most of the time.
  11. My short flippant answer to a valid but complex point would be that where lives were at stake rather than better electric wheelchairs, one might rather not know.
  12. It was one of the assumptions made by Andronikou in a cash flow projection in one of his published reports. So it must be true.
  13. That's true, but I think if you read this thread you'll see that the Saints Foundation contributed around £650,000 to good causes last year. Not knocking the Ex-Saints, because anybody who gives their time to a good cause deserves respect, but they don't come close to that figure. In my personal life I participate in a charitable association, and am acutely aware that "how much" is far more important than "who from". Wouldn't it be nice if the people wasting their time on this thread would rather use that time to help raise money for the Ex-Saints or the Saints Foundation. As I said the recipients won't give a toss where their donation comes from, but will be extremely grateful either way.
  14. Maybe, but I think Nigel's least-productive spell was the 8-game run after Oldham away in January up to Walsall at the begining of March. I think we "only" picked up 12 points from 8 games.
  15. From whom? BT? Doesn't that answer the question?
  16. If you want a quick summary Rally, they're still in the bottom half of the table, Cotterill's still the boss and they've still got the worst disciplinary record in the league. Oh, and there's still a gag order on the interesting things.
  17. We've been using a Saeco Royal for a few years. The coffee is fantastic. Put beans in one hopper and fresh cold water in the other, and push a button. It grinds the beans for each cup, and heats the water, and forces it through under pressure. Almost infinately adjustable for amount of water (espresso/americano), coarseness of grind, etc. Also has the option to hook up a container of fresh milk for cappuccino or latte. And it also has a separate dispenser where you can add pre-ground coffee for decaff, etc. I am fortunate that I travel regularly in East Africa, and can bring back beans from places such as Kenya and Ethiopia. I'm sure you all know that coffee was discovered in Ethiopia. You can buy "green" beans in Ethiopia and roast them yourself.
  18. Just a date to diarise. Despite what we all read on here, the CVA payments aren't actually due to be paid until January 2015. So when they are'nt paid next year, and some posters claim that the CVA is still being serviced, we cant really argue with that. Who will own the club then, and be responsible to pay then is anybody's guess. CVA. Just three letters. £16million. A minor irritation when you're in the Premier League, but a whole year's income when you're in League 1. We all knew that after Chainrai bought the carcass from the autograph-signing saviour, that cash flow was the key. It still is. Stevie C has lost the plot because the cash from the sky is already spoken for, the cash from the impecunious mafia doesn't really exist and the cash from the turnstiles is insignificant. Their destiny is written. He knows it and they know it. They are going down and the new mafia can't afford to stop it.
  19. They might all be saying it, but we're still conceding a lot of goals in the first 10 minutes after half time. But I'm sure it hasn't escaped Nigel's attention
  20. Just up on the Gunner's website: “I owe them massively - I’d been at Southampton since I was seven,” he said. “They put so much hard work into me and the fans down there welcomed me into the first team so warmly. “I couldn’t have asked for more, so I’ve got a lot of time for them and I hope to be able to play there again one day and show my appreciation. I’ll always have a place in my heart for them.” Southampton have enjoyed a flying start to their Championship campaign after going up from League One last season and are already being tipped for a second consecutive promotion. Oxlade-Chamberlain would love to see his old friends in the top flight. “One major factor down there is that it’s such a great group of lads - one of the hardest things about leaving was the boys,” he said. “Whoever comes in is welcomed straightaway, much like here at Arsenal. “Everyone down there has been going for the same thing, and they’ve had that continuity - they haven’t had many players leaving or coming in, it’s still the tight group that was promoted last season, and I think the lift promotion gave them was massive. “Things are looking good down at Southampton.”
  21. I hope he goes on to have a great career at Arsenal, or wherever (except when he's playing against us). Every goal he scores will add more £££s to the value of all our Academy players.
  22. It would be a tough job to manage those 95% of the 400 spotty arrogant teenagers who don't make the grade. I'm not sure that size is everything
  23. In the car on the way to the office this morning I was thinking about the team for the Preston game. Bearing in mind the objective of giving first choice players a rest if possible, and keeping other first team squad players match fit, I came up with the following: Bart Butterfield Martin Hoofit Dickson de Ridder Morgan Chaplow Holmes Forte ? With Lallana, Lambert & Cork on the bench just in case. I don't think our current injuries are in any way excessive, so my conclusion was yes, the squad is not quite as complete as Nigel would like it to be. Particularly as this is likely to be DC's last full season at this level.
  24. I think they were mis-quoted by the BBC: Lets fix it: "When we decided to buy a football club we started our research around the south of England," Anotnov said. "We started from League One, then League Two, and then we found Portsmouth." There. that's better.
  25. To be fair though, it is a valid point. So far this season we've only played against teams who are below us in the league. Skates, on the other hand have played most of their games against teams above them, so they're right, aren't they? We have had a much easier start than them.
