  1. I like the idea of a thread like this. It's a bit like hanging up a sticky fly paper in the corner of the patio on a warm day. It's a bit messy if you look too closely, but it keeps the rest of the patio fly-free.
  2. Is 8 years somehow statistically significant for such comparisons? What about in 2007? Or 2006, 2009 or 2010 or lots of other years. It is obviously significant in that it was the unsustainable high point that immediately preceeded the biggest financial meltdown in my 60 years. But is it significant n any other way?
  3. I would say you're marginally ahead of Dalek, but a loooong way behind the Troll from the Tyrol.
  4. There's nothing the skates can't afford.
  5. Rickie Lambert on the scoresheet again for Cardiff.
  6. Eh? Where did you get that from?
  7. They could try honesty. "We're in uncharted territory so we don't know what's going to happen. Let's wait and see" I was referring to the FT, but as I was typing I realised that it does actually apply equally well to the government
  8. They're a local club. For local people.
  9. It's lucky they don't know where he lives now.
  10. Max 5 U21 sides can get through to the last 16. Not exactly dominant. I would say that shows that the U21 teams are broadly equivalent to the L1 & 2 teams.
  11. And when was the last time that happened in the UK? And how well did that work out?
  12. Yep. None of that olde worlde first past the post colonial nonsense for the yanks.
  13. The good news is that they've signed a new striker from the seventh division, who will join them in January to spearhead their charge up the leagues.
  14. There's a good chance he will significantly reduce America's power and influence in the world, and that can't be a bad thing.
  15. Serves me right for not sitting up all night watching it then
  16. Is there anybody really suggesting that Trump will win in California? Because unless he does it's already over, surely?
  17. So, an injury time equaliser for Yeovil tonight against Reading would do the trick then. Save them having to waste any more valuable resources chasing cup dreams. It's the hope......
  18. On the other hand, some might say the only truly democratic system is one where you can vote for an individual to represent you in Parliament, rather than just a party that will then hand pick a bunch of favourite lackeys to sit in the House and do what they're told.
  19. You cant be too careful. I mean, how deep is the water at Camden Loxk?
  20. Celtic wouldn't be the worst draw in the world.
  21. You know he had surgery on an unrelated injury about a month ago, don't you?
  22. To be fair to them, those famous draws have been against some of the top European teams, like AC Milan and Southampton.
  23. We only drew at home to Sunderland
  24. The very best that can happen is that we will be no worse off than we are now. KL takes NO money out of he club at operating level. If we get new Chinese investors, let's hope they do the same. But I doubt it, most investors expect a regular return on their investment, not wait years to maybe make a profit if the club gets sold on to a higher bidder.
  25. There's only one word to describe this. BREXIT
