  1. They don't need to know anything about the man. Due diligence is all about the size of his wedge.
  2. At my age, they're all free now.
  3. I think the fact that the exclusive due diligence period lapsed without any agreement is a far more reliable piece of information than a planted story in a newspaper. Offering to up the price by 5% and pay in instalments doesn't sound too appealing. I think it's Lander feeding the media to try and leverage some kudos for their brand locally in China by association with us. I would be surprised if this goes ahead, although the Chinese do have some strange ways of doing business.
  4. Successful wealthy businessmen don't buy things because they are cheap. They buy them because they are good value. Pompey is neither even if they offered it to him for a quid, but at a minimum price of £5m he would be getting a sinking money pit.
  5. i don't agree with what he did in his early years, and he was certainly not a hero. But he has my respect, and the people of Northern Ireland are poorer without him.
  6. They are shares, but they are shares in the supporters trust, not the football club.
  7. The club now has 9 active directors, 3 of whom represent the pst 'owners', and the other 6 are just there to make up the numbers.
  8. So this has got nothing to do with another review of the judicial system then.
  9. Aah, thanks for that. So it's explicitly designed to stop one party having overall control. I was wondering how the SNP Managed to get overall control of the previous parliament. Now we know. Where would we be without your informed input to the thread.
  10. If the selling club received what the buying club paid, the world would be full of hungry ex-agents.
  11. It'll have to be much, much more than just a good deal, to compensate for leaving the UK. It will need to be the best deal that's ever been done in the history of, like, forever, to make up for the loss of income from England. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/scotland/12200495/IFS-Scotland-to-get-billions-of-English-income-tax.html But I'm sure that losing £10bn a year from the UK won't stop the EU from rushing to pay Scotland to sign up.
  12. Gina Miller must be very proud tonight.
  13. I'm sure the youngsters will have a solid case at the ECtHR for being forced to wear that on their shirts. Article 3 should cover it - cruel and degrading punishment.
  14. This is just a poorly conceived attempt by Sturgeon to transfer the right to decide if and when to have another referendum, and on what terms, from Westminster to Edinburgh, so she can try to pressurise the UK government during the negotiations next year with a threat. I don't think May is that stupid. If Sturgeon comes forward with a binding proposal for a referendum on a fixed date I would expect May to agree. But that would be suicidal for Sturgeon.
  15. MK hasn't got a stadium. It's in Bletchley.
  16. I'll wait till the start of the season after next. Let's see how he's doing then, when by his own version he'll be worth about £5m a year
  17. Remember the old adage "follow the money". I think they will be going after the people behind the organisations that are taking the cash for unlawful streams, if they can find them. Expect to see some obscenely large financial claims lodged in court by the heavy duty City law firms to frighten people off, so you'll end up having to give your credit card details to the Russian or Chinese mafia to buy access.
  18. He is 100% correct though, apart from the mature, reflective bit. The Lords cannot usurp the will of the democratically elected lower house. His earlier post was a bit off. The Lords is part of sovereign Parliament not Government and it is the role of Parliament, as a whole, to act as a check on the executive. But this one is spot on.
  19. I think the clue is in the use of the word 'disrupt' in the press statement.
  20. Few people that are any good at their proper job have any spare time to publish their work. Most work is published by students that went to university and found that they liked open sandals, beards, funny cigarettes and free love so much that they decided to stay there forever.
  21. Fookin' ampersand. I thought they'd moved
  22. Their problem is that they think they are underperforming.
  23. You tell 'em. A Whig's still a Whig in any language.
  24. Think of promotion as a necessary pre-condition to relegation the following season.
