Some of us are old enough to remember that the lib dems is a rebrand, from last time the centre left a-listers bailed out of the Labour party and left it to the hard left.

I suppose it's better than being an embarrassing old duffer that didn't.

Today's "can you beat Alex Salmond" competition question is...... ...how many times can you fit the phrase "the conservatives defeated UKIP by becoming UKIP" into one sentence? First prize is a night out with Nicola Sturgeon. Second prize is two n

From the BBC website..... "Ronald Koeman: Everton boss vows to see out contract despite 'dreams' of Barcelona" I'm sure that will make them much more confident.

Really? So 51% of the trust members and 51% of the real shareholders will meet the required majority. I think we're agreed on that. Why pretend it's 75% and that it's some kind of safeguard against new dodgy owners.
-
It's also interesting that they will achieve the required 75% majority mandate to sell if 51% of the shareholders vote in favour. Like everything that goes on down there, it's bent as fook.

Just wait until the Gobshyte brand hits the malls in California - then see who's laughing then.

While that may be true, just think how much worse it would all be if we still had Cameron and Osborne at the helm

I'm using a little bit of embellishment, Steve. I haven't read the proposal either, but it is reported that they have asked him to agree that he will not separate the club from the stadium, and he has refused to agree to that. It's not quite the same thing, but when he finds out how much it will cost him, and not having any emotional ties to Fratton Park whatsoever, I think it amounts to much the same thing. The fact that he has definately stipulated a 15 mile limit speaks volumes.
-
I just read a bit of that News stuff. They can't be for real, can they? Eisner has told them that he intends to split the stadium from the club, and move them somewhere else within 15 miles. And yet they still think that he will takeover and fund whatever repairs are required now and in the future to keep "the old girl" in tip-top condition. (as well as buying their shares back and buying a new squad and paying the wages and.....) I know we have quite a few skates on here. Wake up and smell the coffee guys. Fratton Park is a gonner. You're going somewhere else. If you want to control where you end up playing, then tell Eisner to take a hike, otherwise accept his offer and he'll let you know where you'll be playing in due course.

They live in an alternative universe. One where the actual shareholders of the football club company are called "presidents" (note plural because there are a few of them) and members of the supporters club are called "shareholders". Got it?
-
No, no, no. It's a pledge. Definately a pledge. It says so in the News.

I was quite happy with muffins.

Fair's fair, they're entitled to revel in the glory of it all. After all, it's not every year you finish third in the fourth division.
-
But surely having £5m extra ill-gotten gains to spend on wages gives you an unfair sporting advantage
-
So if that's right then they've got 5,673 "shareholders" in a business with net assets less than £4m? So their £1,000 "investment" has increased to about £700 since they bought in. And isn't the cash flow healthy because of the advance season ticket money they hold at the end of June? Why was less deferred than the year before?
-
Thanks, that explains why you get 10 points deducted for going into administration perfectly legally

Reading that is like watching kids counting their pocket money isn't it? There's quite a big increase in property assets. Are they on an acquisition trail or are they capitalising repairs and maintenance or some other dodgy accounting jiggery-pokery?

Which act? Just the blow job or the full monty?

I can't think why. I had to agree with Joseph Muscat (prime minister of Malta) in his speech when he warned us that the United Kingdom needed to remember that it is just a small country when it comes to dealing with the big players like him.

Nah, it's probably just me being disingenuous again, 'innit?

But his emails did save the club though. He deserves his place in history.

Is this some top secret ratio that only top notch expert consultants know about?

Blimey, 15 miles? Watch out Sholing, they're coming to get you.

Supposing a golf course created all its own irrigation water from treating raw sewage, and provided environmentally-managed bird and wildlife reserves and protected flora including annual removal of non-indigenous alien plant species?
