  1. On the face of it this sounds like good news for those of us who've booked tickets in the home areas. However, I can't help wondering why they're spending money on setting up a big screen if they're going to allow away fans in with the home. A quick check on Vitesse's Ticketbox shows there are loads of seats left in most parts of the ground so anyone wanting a ticket will be able to get one and will not need to watch it on the screen, if the above is true.
  2. Eurostar from St Pancras plus local trains after Brussells to Arnhem = £84 return if booked on this site: https://www.nsinternational.nl/?utm_source=ns.nl&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=internationaalreizen&utm_campaign=alg_ns_web (compared with £174 to Amsterdam on the Eurostar site) See you in Block 122!

  4. Why are people buying tickets in blocks 120 & 122 when block 127 is available right next to the away section?
  5. Can anyone explain why Juventus got 43m for coming 3rd in their group but Chelsea got the same for reaching the semi final (much the same as Bayern)? Juventus then got ANOTHER 7m for getting to the semi of the Europa League, so in total they were only 7m down on the CL winners.
  6. I expect everyone thought the same at Christmas 1973.... The week before Christmas: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/division-one-old/1973-1974/table/1973-12-15 Lawrie Mac takes over from Ted Bates and the final table is: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/division-one-old/1973-1974/table
  7. Oh dear, another defeat looming if our non-Saturday league record continues: Saturday games: P9, W8, D1, L0 = 25 points Non Saturday games: P6, W0, D1, L5 = 1 point
  8. As I haven't seen anyone else challenge your terminology, I will! How do you know? If it took place Sunday night it was a burglary, if it happened during the day on Sunday or Monday it was a robbery. (Common Law definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burglary )
  9. Only Schneiderlin, Long and Bertrand which means that tomorrows team is likely to be entirely current (or, at least pending) internationals
  10. Not sure where you dug that up from but this looks more like Prince William than his Grandmother! http://www.hymoney.co.uk/images/2007/FA%20Cup%20Final%20May%2007/slides/Prince%20William%20hands%20the%20cup%20to%20John%20Terry.jpg It's true that the Queen hasn't been to an FA Cup Final since 1976
  11. It really annoys me that God Save the Queen is played for England. It's the National Anthem of the United Kingdom and should only be used when teams/individuals are representing Great Britain (eg Olympics). You don't hear the Scots or Welsh using it as their anthem so why England? Give me Land of Hope & Glory or Jerusalem any day.
  12. I wish I could get 25% interest on my money!
  13. According to this: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/fans/faqs/when-does-transfer-window-open-close.html the window has been open since midnight yesterday.
  14. Not sure where you get the 0845 number from but, according to the OS, the ticket sales "hotline" is 02381 780 780.
  15. We must be about the same age with the same memories, Dronski. I was in the main stand, just behind the dugout, for the Ron Davies show in '69. The looks I got when I stood up to cheer 4 times......... Was at Wembley with the girlfriend (now the wife) in '76 and 34 years later with my son, and was on the pitch with him after Coventry. I bet you also remember the 9-3 against Wolves.
  16. Currently 4th behind Grant Holt (46%), Welbeck & Sturridge http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/england/9110507/With-Wayne-Rooney-and-Darren-Bent-out-of-action-which-strikers-should-England-start-Euro-2012-with.html
  17. I don't understand all these comments about poor vocal support. I listened to most of the game on Solent (Saints player) and it sounded as though we were the home team. There was almost constant singing of OWTSGMI (and very well sung it was too - slowly!)
  18. 1974 was the worst for me. 5th in the league when Lawrie Mac took over from Ted Bates around Christmas then a disastrous 2nd half of the season ended with us being the first victiim of the change to 3 up - 3 down. I've hated Birmingham since then because they finished one point ahead of us after winning at the Dell in a game we should never have lost. 2005 comes a very close second, though.
  19. My 2 are on my order history. 4 aways each (including Plymouth!)

  21. This was probably the only decision D'Urso got right - he overruled the linesman because Seabourne played the ball to the Oldham man. However, it does show how bad the linesman was!
  22. Yes he can, Chris Foy did exactly that in the Spurs/Everton game today. Another example of D'Urso's incompetance.
  23. Don't you think that at least one of Adam, Guly or Chaplow, not to mention Ricky, would have appealed if it had been handball????
