Public sector pensions, another meaty topic that needs looking at. -
The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

The civil service has increased significantly since pre-COVID, should be room for cuts there. Insist on return to office working, this would also benefit the economy. The government are already looking into the Motability scheme, fair play. Massive increase in people choosing not not to work. -

No, Covid and more specifically furlough and then the cost of living crisis caused by Covid and then the Ukraine war have caused far more economic damage than Brexit IMO. Here’s some ideas: Stop free prescriptions at the age of 60 and bring it in line with retirement age. Charge at least £10 for a GP appointment. Get rid of all DEI positions in the public sector. Cut back where possible all non essential management roles in the NHS. Streeting is already doing this so fair play to him. I’d like to see a complete overhaul and simplification of the tax system but I very much doubt it will happen in my lifetime -
Well, after this attack I think they have a point but not sure a 4-day week is a good reason.
-
I saw this happen once, in a pub on the way back from England v Scotland in Euro 96, the poor barmaid!😀
-
Fair enough. I voted Labour once 😳
-
Why do they pay large sums of money and risk their lives crossing the channel in a rubber dinghy rather than staying in mainland Europe? A genuine question, something I’ve never really understood.
-
To be honest, the posting style of anyone right of centre is likely to cause great distress to you and Farmer.
-
We all know this behaviour is across all ethnic groups, the question is whether it is more prevalent among Muslim and more specifically Pakistani men.
-
The second series of Wolf Hall did it for me, a brilliant historical drama spoilt by inserting actors of colour for no good reason. Jane Seymour’s sister was mixed race FFS. I’d like to see a remake of Roots with Ross Kemp playing Kunta Kinte.
-
I love how virtually every ‘couple’ in an advert has one white and one non-white.
-
‘Driving me mad’ is racist? How odd. Again you miss the point, she is talking about the disproportionate numbers. It may well be obvious but this probably the first time I’ve heard it mentioned in the media.
-
Oh no, I agree with her. Her choice of words was not the best but I fully agree with the point being made.
-
It doesn’t.
-
What she said is absolutely spot on, I’ve been saying this for a couple of years now. It’s not massively important and actually makes me laugh every time I watch a block of adverts. A little like watching a historical drama where they feel the need to insert non-white actors.
-
Its an opinion piece, one I absolutely agree with, but the again I am islamophobic.
-
Really? Banned for their actions in Amsterdam where only 10 of the 62 arrested were Maccabi fans. Or because of the threat from the pro-Pal and Islamist community. A local Iman stated “We will not show mercy to Maccabi Tel Aviv fans travelling to Birmingham for the Aston Villa FC match.”
-
Apparently, he's now been arrested, not sure if it's for "put the Zios in the ground" or "workshopping"
-
I see there is another pro-Pal twat the media is (rightly IMO) going after, a speccy Oxford University student chanting "put the Zios in the ground". To be honest he should be arrested purely for using the phrase "a chant we've been workshopping". How on earth do morons like this get into Oxford FFS?
-
Some people have to work to pay your pension.
-
Just look at what she does for a living: 'Ms Yahlom is an Arts Council-funded PhD student at the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (Cream), at the University of Westminster, exploring the topic of haunting and the supernatural in Palestinian territories.' Clearly a loon, and we're paying good money to encourage her lunacy.
-
Agreed, those shows are well past their sell by date.
-
It’s shit. Bring back the Black and White Minstrels.
-
Maybe it’s worse with celebrities, they seem to take it way too seriously. Alan Carr is the only one worth watching.
