Me too please Turkish. I can't understand why some people can get so upset by a few footie rumours, just take it with a pinch of salt. I have to say, I didn't really pay much attention to the CoT thread, the clues were too cryptic for a thicko like me, I guess that's why I'm not allowed a vote.

Just read on BBC website that the odious little ginger Argie sub who provoked Belligham at full-time is a transfer target for Chelsea. That would give them two of the little wankers.

The Burnham Years - Can the new(ish) broom sweep clean?
iansums replied to iansums's topic in The Lounge
What does amaze me is how many people WFH in recent weeks when we've had this heat wave. We are lucky enough to have really good AC in the office and some people choose to WFH in an oven, they can't be working efficiently. -

Certainly not, and never have been, although not sure I've ever had the option working in my industry and relatively small companies. -

He certainly wouldn't be happy I started it, if you're not allowed a vote then you shouldn't be allowed to start forum threads either! I think he's retired from The Lounge anyway. -
Well somebody had to do it! Hope he makes a better job of it than Starmer.

Apalling, or just different to yours? -
Moronic statement, thought you were better than that.

No, but that is effectively what they are saying, UK GDP was >1% higher than Germany, fact. This implies that without Brexit we would have grown >7% more and IMO growing that much more than Germany was highly unlikely. I can’t be arsed to go and find the original article but the German comparison was one thing that I noted.
-
Just like some skew data to reflect their own ‘remain’ bias. It works both ways. Do you think it makes sense to use US GDP data when surely we should only be compared with EU nations? I understand the authors of the report admitted this and revised the numbers accordingly.
-
No, I’m not saying that, it probably has affected our GDP figures, but by how much nobody really knows. I go back to my point, if you think that we would have grown >7% more than Germany had we’d stayed in the EU, I would seriously question that. Remember I voted to remain but to keep saying Brexit was a disaster is IMO wrong.
-
Yes, that’s the report that has been criticised for using US data. Also reported as a BoE report which it wasn’t.
-
So you’re saying our GDP would be 6% higher. Since Brexit we have grown more than 1% more than Germany, do you honestly think we would have grown >7% more than Germany? The figures I think you are referring to have been debunked because they compare us to US who had huge growth in part due to fracking, take them out of the equation and the figure halves. Even then the figures are just an estimate, nobody really knows.
-
6% of what?
-
So if we had stayed in the EU our GDP would have grown about 7% more than Germany, really?
