  1. I'm going to take my overdraft elsewhere.
  2. Lowe, Wilde and Crouch ALL made mistakes the past 5 years. ALL of them say they are passionate Saints fans. ONE of them has stepped up to the plate post Admin, whilst the other 2 have done nothing. Yet he is the one getting stick from some fans, am I the only one who finds that a bit strange?
  3. This would be a real boost if true. He'll be head and shoulders above any other keeper in this league (if he plays like last season). I really can't see it happening, but fingers crossed. Not seen Forcast play, but he's a different class to Bart.
  4. It's unique to the Cotswold's hunting set.
  5. Only at Southampton could a bloke (whoever he is) provide the money to keep us going (whether a loan or donation) and still be slagged off. Let's give credit where it's due. Had Lowe done this the Luvvies would be having an orgasism.
  6. The Premiership needs to be more competitive. All the other leagues(in England) are, but we can all name the top 4 next season, and proberly the season after that. Even in America the home of free enterprise the govening bodies realise the NFL works because its competitive.Although we have nothing like the draft system, merchendising and gate money could be spread evenly around the league. Everybody seems to think the play offs are a good idea, therefore, why not have play off's between 4th,5th,6th and 7th for the final Champions league spot? Not only will it generate interest it will also share some of that money around. However nothing will change, because the FA are too concerned with the big 4, breaking away.
  7. The Accountant by Andrew "Scooby" White- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0192956/
  8. Nick Leeson didn't cause the crash of Barings Bank, it was the people employed before him. Leeson was just clearing up their mess.........
  9. Didn't Lowe and Wilde ask him to stay on? So the great business brain that is Rupert Lowe, must have thought he was worth it.
  10. Course I did, comparing that attendance following their cup win to MC's testimonal in '76. The point is, if they were in dire financial strights and had a benfit game which attracted 4,000, we'd be ****ing our pants. Before this thread desends into another Anti Lawrie which hunt, people should ask themselves what it looks like to supporters of other Clubs. Considering more turn up at testimonals for millionaires,4,000 is shocking.
  11. In my opinion only 4,000 turning up for a benefit game to help towards the Club is a pretty poor show.If Pompey were in a similar situation and only 4,000 turned up, I'd be giving my Skate boss some serious stick. What ever anyones thoughts on the players or cost of the tickets, Clubs of our size and catchment area should be getting a few more than that in our hour of need. Wont look very good for perspective new owners and if the Council are looking to buy the ground, what message does it tell them? Lawrie is right to be shocked.
  12. Perhaps our new owners should branch out into Radio and give us the coverage we deserve. What a visionary move that would be...............
  13. Luton offered to pay the taxman 100% of what was owed them, and they still opossed the CVA. They are opossing every football one on principle until the Football Creditors rule is changed, by the FL. If the revenue get a vote on the CVA, we're stuffed. As others have pointed out, hopefully they wont get a say in it.
  14. Why people are still argueing over this is beyond me.Take the emotion out of it and ask supporters of other Clubs whih position they would rather be in, ours or Cov's. It's a no brainer. I accept that Bill Gates or some sort of multi millionaire might take us over, but failing that the motives of any new owner will be the same as SISU's were (to make money). The fact is we're now a league lower, starting with -10 (possible more),unsure whether we'll even have a club, and throwing coins into buckets to pay the bills.Yet people still think we were right to turn down SISU-Unbelievable.
  15. The supporters put the pride back into the Club today. We can go to League 1 with our heads held high after fantastic support. Whatever players play, whoevers in the boardroom, with support like that, we'll be ok.

  17. Correct in Pubs and at games, I find people either hate Lowe or aren't too bothered either way. It's only on Forums he seems to have reached hero worship levels.
  18. When Mick left for Man C was that a "cut off" for you?
  19. Well Mick went to Man C and leaving the Club. In some peoples eyes is a no no. I maybe wrong there, because it was proberly alright for Mick, but not for Lawrie (as Lowe hasn't had a bust up with Mick). Personally, I think we we should play at the Ted Bates St Marys Stadium, in front of the Le Tiss, Mac,Tp and MC stand's, but i'm just an old softie at heart.
  20. Lawrie turned down plenty of offers during his time at Southampton. Sunderland were his home town Club and somewhat of a sleeping giant. To critise the guy for doing what 99% of Football Managers have always done is strange. We'll have Aberdeen fans posting how disloyal Fergie was all those years ago next . Why can't people just rejoice and count their luckey stars that had Lawrie for so long and thank the man for the unbelieveable times he gave us. It seems that the people who supported Rupert the longest, are the first to start running him down. Forget a suite, he should have a stand named after him.At any other Club this would be a given.
  21. We even managed to mess up going into admin. Someone must have known we were near the edge the week before.
  22. Picking the right Manager is certainly a tough call and one that is hardly an exact sceince. Players that tick all the boxes (David Platt/Bobby Moore/Bryan Robson) ,who you believe have everything required go on to become failures. Whilst Mangers who do well at Clubs, completely mess up when moving to another (Lawrie Mac/Mike Walker/Paul Ince). Being sacked at a previous job, should be no bar to getting the Saints job (WGS). Personally, although Tisdale looks to have promise and tick a lot of the boxes, I would urge caution at this stage of his career. -10 (possible more) next year is going to be tough and expections will proberly be too high. I would like someone whose been around the block once or twice, is used to League 1/CCC, to steady the ship for 2 or 3 years.Ronnie Moore/Cotterill would be my choice, whilst keeping an eye on Tisdale's progress. There is plenty of time for him to manage Saints.
  23. I thought Oaks looked tired and stale towards the end of his Saints career. I think the move to Derby perked him up (in a similar way Big Sam did to KD). Personally, although out of position I thought his performance at Fratton (4-1) was one of the most gutless I've seen from a Saints player in nearly 40 years (along with about 8 others). Lets not look back with rose tinted glasess, he did not deserve more than a year on his form at the time. However as he is a Saint through and through, I'm pleased by his sucsess since leaving.
  24. Until we're out of admin, we wont have much say in who stays and who goes. The Administrator has a legal duty to get as much money for creditors as possible. After Sunday, any offer for any players, will be accepted.
  25. This part of the original post is disgraceful: Turning up at the end of the game in the hospitality suites - with Nick Holmes and Mark Dennis in tow - wielding buckets to "save our club" is a sign of how inappropriate and embarrassing Mr Crouch has become" If Crouch had taken the same approach as Lowe and Wilde post admin, there wouldn't have been a game for him to be "inapproiate and embarrassing" on Saturday. How on earth someone trying to collect money to keep the Club going until a buyer is found, can be slated like this is beyond me.
