Correct, and some of the Spanish practices are ridiculous as well. The fact drivers pay doesn’t appear to be linked to changes to some of the terms is a mistake imo. IMO. They wanted to show they could get things done & were different than the Tories & the chaos. “The grown ups have sorted it out” sort of vibe. That’s why they settled without much fight. However, it’s going to be hard to hold the tide back now.

Why? He’s done pretty much fuck all since he signed.

Travelling in Italy (Fiscal Code)
Lord Duckhunter replied to Stripey McStripe Shirt's topic in The Lounge
Yep, looks like you’ll have to pony up. From what I’ve read they’re all over it. Done a bit of research after ignoring Farmer Gerald’s misleading info and most solid info is this: Looks like they have 30 days from the offence to get your details from hire company. Hire company then have 30 days to reply (and they’ll charge you for providing your details to plod). If you live outside Italy they then have 365 days to notify you (and they charge €47 extra for notifying a non resident). The hire company aren’t legally obliged to tell you they’ve provided your details, but some will. The first notification will probably be a charge on the credit card you used to book hire car. They’ll ask for licence details but won’t allocate points. However, if you don’t provide details, they’ll fine you for that as well. You only get 5 days from signing for letter (it will come by recorded delivery) to pay the reduced amount. Still don’t know the consequences of not paying, so coughed up. -

So you’re confirming they are safe?
-
Surely if they’re in a safe country, but prefer to be in the UK, they’ve become economic migrants. There are easy ways for economic migrants to apply for a work visa from abroad.
-
So let’s get this straight , how does someone from Afghanistan apply safely for asylum if he doesn’t fit the criteria? You seem to be implying he should be able to walk into the British embassy. Is there even a functioning British Embassy in Kabul? If there is, where does he wait whilst his claim is processed? In the embassy, or does he go home safe in the knowledge that the Taliban will say “ok Mo, we respect your decision to leave our country & you’ll be safe whilst you await the UK decision”. If successful, how does he get to the UK, do we go over and pick him up or do the Taliban kindly fly him over here? There are routes for people to apply if they’re in genuine danger, there are even routes for economic migrants. There just aren’t any for economic migrants pretending to be refugees. People in France are not in danger.
-
How are you going to make it easier? I didn’t see many Ukrainian’s on small boats, so there are clearly safe routes for people genuinely fleeing for their lives. “Apply for asylum abroad” is chucked around without any detail. Where do they apply, in their home country where they’re allegedly fleeing for their lives from. Maybe Turkey, Libya, France, Italy? If we make it easier for someone to claim asylum from Afghanistan, what does this look like, how does he apply? Via the Taliban, do we go over and pick him up? Or does he have to get to a safe country first?
-
Dear god. Most of the people on the boats are economic migrants who wouldn’t qualify for a work visa . They would be refused asylum if they applied outside the UK. That’s why they get on the fucking boats in the first place, that’s why the majority are young men and that’s why they throw their passports away upon arrival….

Travelling in Italy (Fiscal Code)
Lord Duckhunter replied to Stripey McStripe Shirt's topic in The Lounge
The points aren’t enforceable on a UK licence. Ive spoken to my insurance company & the points only apply to Italian licences as their system is totally different to ours (they deduct points from a starting point, rather than add points to a clean licence). They will only be applied if I ever apply for an Italian licence. As you’re so wrong about that, I can assume you haven’t a clue so will be ignoring your “advice” on this particular subject. -
Travelling in Italy (Fiscal Code)

Fucking hell. Been back over a year, and just received a speeding ticket in the post from driving in Puglia. Snap Dragon signed for it, so can’t say it hasn’t been received. Haven’t got a clue whether I was speeding or not or what evidence they have. Does anyone know if it’s enforceable? Google has various different opinions, some saying they have 12 months from offence, whereas others saying it’s 12 months from when hire company give them your details. 3 points & €168 fine. Can’t see how points can be applied, but fine maybe can be. Can they instruct UK debt agency & will they bother. The other question is what happens if I don’t pay & drive in EU again. Italy will obviously be an issue, but is there an EU wide mark on my name & address that could be an issue if I try to hire or are stopped by plod in eu country. Lots I’ve read suggests they just send the letter hoping you’ll pay but don’t bother chasing, but I don’t want any issues in future. A year later seems a bit of a piss take to be honest. -
It’s good to see lefties moving Right & sounding like “lock um up” law and order Tories. Together with their support for maintaining the 2 child benefit cap and reducing payments for pensioners, the forum opinion seems to moving to the right…..
-
The people on the boats are mainly economic migrants, they wouldn’t get asylum granted if they applied from outside the UK. There have been 1.2 million immigrants coming in to the uk the past year, only a tiny proportion come by via small boats, yet you think the process should be made easier? How many do you want, 2 million a year, 3 million?

Rowley now saying he’s going after people who post inflammatory things from abroad. Fucking blokes a clown, does he really think we can extradite people for posting tweets or Facebook posts. The establishment have lost the friggin plot. Take a deep breath and get on with your day job….

Do you include Hate not hope in your condemnation, they posted that whites were throwing acid over Muslims. They’re not stupid, must have known it wasn’t true but suited gh to spread it further.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Yes, by giving poorer parents extra money to feed their kids. You are happy for the poorest to have a 2 child cap on their welfare, whilst not limiting child benefit for middle class parents. I’m not. I guess that’s one of the fundamental differences between us…. -
Fucking hell, reading Soggys pony makes me want to start a friggin riot. Give it a rest man

I’d rather be in the Bibby Stockholm than that shit hole, & downtown Kigali more appealing than fucking Bournemouth on a Weds night.

So feeding rich & middle class kids breakfast deals with child poverty better than giving the poorest more money? What happens when they leave primary school, do they automatically get lifted out of poverty? If you accept a 2 child cap for the very poorest, why isn’t family allowance capped at 2 children for the middle classes? -

Slagged off by who? It’s not being modified, it’s being taken away from most pensioners, despite promises it wouldn’t be. New broom 😂 . Just because you don’t need it, it’s ok. What a selfish attitude. Martin Lewis who isn’t political at all, explained the problem with this. Pension credit is the least claimed credit in the whole welfare system & a myth has grown up that pensioners are rich. A lot aren’t, a lot don’t claim pension credit who qualify for it. A lot are just over the threshold will suffer by losing this payment. They did nothing with family benefit, so a family with someone earning 50k with 1 kid, can get family benefit of £100 a month & a pension on 12k loses £300 a year. What a fucking disgrace……They could have found this money elsewhere, they made this choice. Had the Tories done this you’d be on your high horse, everybody knows that. -

Like taking £300 off people earning less than 12k a year. Labour in opposition- London nurse earning 27k uses food bank, shame on Tories. Labour in Government- You old bastards on 12k, fucking put more layers on, we need that £300 for Doctors pay. -
There’s obviously a trigger event or events that bring things to a head. Not being a racist, I wouldn’t know the exact trigger, but I imagine the Leeds riot, the Manchester airport thing & then the Southport killings in quick succession, together with a New Gov being generally softer on immigration (or perceived as being softer), & the weather plays a part as well. It’s exactly the same with the anti semites that attach themselves to the Gaza stuff. They latch on to ordinary people’s concerns & escalate it. How else do you explain a march on the Israeli embassy before Isreal had really responded to 7/10 & this weeks attempt to close down “Fidler on the roof”. A show that has nothing to do with Isreal, set in a time before Isreal existed. It’s Jew hatred pure & simple. Just as the lads who overstepped the mark the past week were driven by immigrant hatred. The difference is concern about Gaza & Israel is discussed freely & is considered a legitimate worry to have, whereas concern about too much immigration, isn’t. Do the Government really think they can legislate the issue away, that by locking up a few numpties it’s going to go away? Of course it won’t, only two things will make it go away, a lot less immigration or winning people’s hearts & minds & changing their views on how much immigration we need. Agreeing with them that immigration is too high, telling them you’re going to control it, you’re going to smash the gangs & send illegals back will only work if you actually do that. Nobody in my breakfast gang believes it & neither do I. The Tories were punished by the electorate for the levels of immigration (amongst other things) & make no mistake, this lot will too. Thanks to Brexit they’re accountable now 100%
