The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Typical Soggy to go down the rabbit hole of PM’s salary rather than address the issue of Free Gear Kiers freebies. He’ll be bemoaning footballs getting more than nurses next. I can’t believe anyone, left right, or centralist isn’t a bit surprised by Starmer’s love of a freebie. Donations are one thing, maybe the LOTO does attract a lot more of these, but to be so far ahead of other MP’s in the other category is quite something. One thing for sure, at the end of this parliament if Nige is top of the list, I doubt soggy will be taking about PM’s salary & benefits. This ain’t a great look, did his Mrs really need to attend 2 nights of a concert, can Starmer really only attend arsenal games in hospitality, and can’t he pay for a few clothes & glasses himself. Who the fuck is advising him & why did he think he could go big on cronyism knowing full well he’d filled his boots. New broom, same as the old broom? Not really, on this the new broom is worse that the old broom. How’s it go? “Things can only get better” 🕺 -

There’s been briefing against her for weeks. She’ll be gone within a year. -
Fucking hell, it’s hardly crime of the century. It’s relatively trivial compared to what’s happened in Yemen.

The pay is a non story, the interesting bit is the “Whitehall sources”. Somebody is clearly trying to stitch her up, early days for a power struggle at number 10. If this continues she’ll be gone within a year. -
They seem to be finding ingenious ways of killing off anti semitic enemies of Isreal. If I was Soggy I’d forget about upgrading my phone for a while.

You should have taken Turkish’s advice & fucked off for a few days.

Get it in the fucking mixer.

Tall Paul would have buried that -
I work in Bournemouth & live in Poole, so I meet a lot of them. Most say he did a decent job for them.

It’s an important part of the modern game. We don’t want some scruffy twat on the sidelines.

The mask has well and truly slipped today. You’re some piece of work.
-
The ones I speak to, & it’s a lot, say he did a decent job.

Henrik Rystrom would be a good choice. I haven’t got a fucking clue who he is, but being a hipster, I’m in. Has he got a normal head?

Nobody is against those people not receiving it. Leave aside labour’s hypocrisy over this (you know as well as I do they would have opposed it had the Tories removed it), to do what they’ve done a month or two before winter is pretty poor. It’s also pretty cynical because they know full well a large % of people entitled to pension credit don’t claim it (Martin Lewis estimates 880 thousand pensioners). It’s the reason Gordon Brown made it universal. Surely it’s not beyond the wit & wisdom of man to give it to everyone, but claw it back via the tax system for those who don’t need it. Maybe they should have waited until spring whilst working out a system that will ensure the poorest get it. I’ve always been against middle class receiving state money, whether it’s winter fuel payments or child benefit. If they wanted a couple of billion that bad they could have lowered the cut off for receiving child benefit, or limited it to 2 children in line with Universal credit. Or even, god forbid, cut the foreign aid budget. Im surprised they did this, even more surprised anyone is supporting it…… -
Scott Parker got Boscombe promoted & was sacked the following Aug, despite actually winning a game in the Premier League. They ended up staying up. We’re not some 2 bit noddy club grateful to be in the big time, we’ve spent most of the past 60 years at this level. If Lego doesn’t get a couple of wins under his belt before the next international break he needs to fuck off. Clearly Davie Moyes would be the best bet if you wanted an experienced hardened manager used to operating at this level.
