I think that’s fair enough.

Don’t be so ridiculous. I know you’ve made a bit of a tit of yourself defending the worst top flight manager we’ve ever had, but you can’t have a lackadaisical approach to fitness through preseason and up to Xmas, and then suddenly have another “pre season”. That’s a recipe for injuries and not the way elite footballers maintain match fitness. However much you try to spin it, the whole side don’t look fit enough and that’s 100% down to your man.

Ipswich is bus replacement service. If you want to train it, will be a horrendous journey to watch a load of shite.

Given the way he promoted and encouraged the deluded conspiracies of Carl Beech and his desperation for them to be true, I think that poisonous twat needs to sit this one out.

Maggie Oliver, who was part of the previous inquiry says the grooming gang section was a “whitewash” and explains why here. She claims only 1 victim was allowed to give evidence, Rochdale was only mentioned in relation to Cyril Smith, many towns weren’t mentioned, and her evidence was cut. Pretty easy to find out if those things are true. Also says race absolutely played a part in this particular type of abuse, despite what some people claim. She doesn’t want another enquiry though.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Wes Streeting seems the only one who appears to be in tune with things at the moment. Binning Sue Gray doesn’t appear to have made any difference to Starmer’s handling of things. This NHS thing was a prime example, first question about Musk, he says “I’m here to discuss NHS” and refused to answer, second question, he goes on his ‘far right” narrative. The take away from the speech wasn’t about the NHS, but more fuel added to the Rape gang narrative. How can a former DPP allow a story to run and run that appears to have him the wrong side of this issue. It’s not the “far right” that think he is, or a hostile anti Labour press. If Tony Blair was running things, he would have gripped the narrative, and made most ordinary people think he was going to get to the bottom of what happened in the past, and put in place safeguards for the future. He’d have come across as emphatic to the victims and understanding of why people are appalled by it. He made people think he was on their side and understood their concerns. This bloke comes across as a technocrat, an over promoted jobsworth who cant take any criticism or push back. Although he’s also banging on about taking politics out of this or that, and doing things differently, he’s incredibly tribal (or comes across as such), and doesn’t seem capable of understanding people who didn’t vote for him. There hasn’t been a PM with such a “them & us” attitude since Maggie, and I’m not sure itll work for him like it did for her. -
I prefer the 2 wide “centre halves” being strong fullbacks or central defenders who can play full back as well, I think Koeman may have used Bertrand in this role occasionally and Venables did with Stewart Pearce . Charlie Taylor is the only one we’ve got, but it is quite an Italian thing, so maybe Ivan could develop this is he stays long term. The problem we have is the 3 centre halves we play are all like a fish out of water in wider areas, all seem suited to the central role, and play in a 3 in exactly the same way they do in a 2.

Starmer and Labour people complaining about Musk throwing around serious accusations involving child abuse 😂 . When it was innocent Tories in the firing line, Starmer sent the biggest culprit to the House of Lords. The only difference was Tom Watson accused the Tories of the actual abuse, not covering it up.

He can’t be all bad, he’s called Ed Davey a “snivelling cretin”. He also highlighted that Davey voted against deporting foreign rapists.

Probably been the biggest disappointment of the season for me. We knew people like Smallbone & Armstrong would be pony at this level, and I never really held much hope that Downes would be anything other than a poor JWP without the set piece delivery. But THB I had high hopes would become a Lovren level centre half, decent but prone to the odd mistake. Instead he’s been mostly pony, prone to the odd good block or good clearance. Mind you, ridiculous Lego ball can’t of helped his confidence and young players need the hairdryer every now and then, not constant cuddles.
-
He is borderline pony, but the problem is he’s the only striker we’ve got with any physical presence at all. At least the keeper and defenders can knock it long with him up top. Adam Armstrong & Archer, fuck me, I think Warwick Davis would win as much as they do in the air, at least Warwick may fucking jump which both of them seem incapable of doing. We never replaced Che Adams physicality and I don’t believe the previous manager had no input in that decision. He doesn’t strike me as a manager interested in playing that way. The other problem Tall Paul has is, sides can play a really high line without worrying about him running in behind them. Defences aren’t stretched which is why his hold up play is too deep and the opposing midfield are also right on top of him. Somebody like Shane long (although shite in front of goal): had the physical strength and also the pace. TP doesn’t. If we could start to get Archer or another “quick” right up with him, we could push the opposition defenders deeper, which will mean TP operating further up the pitch. Of course, the issue will then become our piss weak midfield being out numbered if (or more likely when) we lose the ball. Id have liked somebody to have given BBD a go down the middle, but that seems like a forlorn hope now.

Funny how when Martin had 60 mins against 10 men Newcastle, Ipswich home, Leicester home, Wolves when they were rock bottom with O Neil, I don’t recall you moaning how easy those fixtures were and we should have picked up points.

It’s hard, I remember one of my lads turning to me during the Dutch duo season and asking “why do you make me support Saints”. He’s now 25 and has seen us win the JPT, fly through the championship, seen us win at Liverpool & draw and OT, win the play offs and lose the league cup. He’s also seen us play in the San Siro, sat with his brother, dad and uncle. I told him at the time, the bad times make the good times better, and I’m convinced of that more than ever now. I’m sure your lad will experience some great times…..one day.

BRENTFORD boss Thomas Frank labelled accusations Saints gave up in their 5-0 defeat "fair"

When he stops being a cock, I’ll stop calling him Lego.

The reason we are so far behind Ipswich and Leicester and down by Xmas is down to Russell fucking Martin’s vanity project. The players didn’t start the season rock bottom, lacking confidence and belief. His ridiculous tactics, encouragement of mistakes and lack of proper premier league fitness, have resulted in a complete and utter lack of belief from the playing field, to the stands. Ivan has been handed a hospital pass and the person who handed it to him was that arrogant Lego headed cock. I’ve no doubt had Ivan taken over in June, we’d have more than 6 fucking points (and only 5 of them were legos)
-
If Russell Martin can get us out of the championship, I’m pretty sure a half decent manager will be able to as well.
-
Not quite as badly as Lego though… And unlike him, 2 of them didn’t have pre season to bed their ideas in.
-
Don’t worry, he’s got another 10 games before he’s as bad as the player’s mate. #scartissue
-
Martin is the worst permanent manager in premier league history, with a worse win % than Nathan Jones, si we clearly didn’t have a structure, tactics or nurturing under him. Still at least he had more friends….

Trying to shake off the effects of 18 months & 2 preseasons of Lego ball will be incredibly difficult to achieve, particularly when you’ve got players like Downes, Manning & Archer who look like they were specifically brought in to play it. He needs a few out of favour and haven’t been playing it week in, week out, like Tall Paul, Big Les, Salamana, ABK and maybe SAA to step up. However, there’s no sign of that anytime soon.
-
Is he still a twat that shouldn’t be getting involved in British politics ?
-
People need to calm down a bit. It was untenable for Lego to continue and it’s going to take more than 3 games to turn this round, particularly when the players don’t seem fit enough. Let’s see where we are after he’s managed a similar number of premier league games to Lego, as we can’t change manager again.
