After last summer I think many Saints fans on here have a problem with premature speculation.

A rather tenuous "link" though. On looking at the first list of names the only link was possibly the name of Michael Dell ;I can't believe that a man with his billions and that surname is not seeking to buy us as we speak.

I don't think the roof went on the Archers Road end until about 1991 or 92,did it ? And no roof over the Milton Road end yet,which was also early 1990's,(93 ?).

I'm still maintaining the view it was late 1970's.Oct/Nov 1978 seems favourite to me,as we were back in the old Division One and it was certainly pre Keegan (1980).

I also remember him responding to applause from the east stand with a cheery wave.All good natured etc.I heard a few years later that he'd been bollocked by his officers for this as he 'wasn't fully concentrating' and attending to his duties.

Its a condition that I've had to live with since 1984. Some days are worse than others. You might feel inclined to turn to drink,or maybe an uncontrollable outburst of aggression,to run on the pitch,or leap into a crowd and thump some bastard whose emotions are,in contrast to yours,ecstatitic. The club should really offer a counselling service.Or at least,if theY could afford it.

Perhaps we should dig back through the archives of The Times to see what they predicted for Hull and Bristol City last season,Derby the season before etc..

As someone who also spent a number of years near Reading,I have enough concerns about that place without giving concern over Swindon,Oxford or anywhere else.

Whilst we are good with the ball,do we have someone who is good at breaking up the opposition when they have it ? As for Jones,I never saw him as a tactician with us either. Schneiderlin ?Yes,he really could be the great white hope this season.Hope he can tackle as well as distribute the ball.

Perhaps the Russians think that tank rolling is an olympic event. Just to cheer ourselves up,lets not forget what happened after pompey last won the cup!!

John Sydenham did. Not sure if Terry Paine did though,and Ron Davies to my knowledge didn't.Probably because he "only" spent six seasons or so at The Dell,but what a service in that time.

I think it was reported on the forum a while back that Rupert was only two or three days a week on the grounds the club couldn't afford him fulltime. As for AC, I've heard positive comments about him before;its unfortunate that he is "guilty by association" in many peoples eyes,and probably would never stray from his 'top man'.

What "new leak" re PA ? I thought that had all been done,said and repeated many times before.What is there new to say,or what have I missed ? Personally I have given up hope of a takeover,and will believe it if/when it happens.

In view of the clubs financial position I doubt that Rupert will sanction £5 on expenses for the likes of Scooby or Sundance,or any of his other moles.
